My 4 and 1/2 year old grandson heard this at his pre-K class a couple of weeks ago, and has been dancing around and singing it ever since. I showed him this video and he loves it. It is still a good time rock-and-roll hit after all these years.
***** I like everything you said. I graduated high school in '66. They were always around. Fun music. Turns out the beach is my holy land. Then I got into Hendrix and punk and industrial. Going to see Ministry in San Francisco in May. Love them. Still love Brian and the rest of the guys.
No they didnt you fucking idiot. This song was originally performed in 1958 by a band named the regents and the beach boys simply did a cover of the song.Do you know that a cover is?
Just lengarady back then and still lengarady after all these years later god bless you guys thanks you guys rock way to go still going strong way to go appreciate your singing and music you should be amazed and proud way to go !!! Joe
Carl is still deeply missed. He left this life too soon. The Beach Boys had the most Top 40 hits than any other band in rock history. It's too bad their personal lives were so tragic. I'm happy to know Brian is still alive after fighting a lifetime depression. I can relate to that but it must of been a lot more difficult to live with it in the past.
Just great classic music ever by the beach boys still going strong after all these years later appreciate you guys and the memories great job people you should be amazed and proud love and appreciate you guys thanks you guys rock way to go that's how you do it well thanks !!❤😂😂😅 Joe
in 1965 a couple of months before the record company did an early release of the song. which was the reason why it didn't get the recognition it deserved until today
Dennis kicked ass. The only true surfer in the group. If you haven't already, check him out in "Two Lane Blacktop." He plays "The Mechanic" opposite James Taylor's "The Driver." Very cool.
The beach boys were sitting around and goofing off and came up with Barbara Ann I read it Look it up on their Site. Don't be critical. It's a cool cool song. Makes me dance with fun. Wish it was still. Back then
I dedicated this song to my sister Robyn. She used to cry that she didn't have a song. So I found this matched her nickname BobbyAnna so we used to dance to this when she was little. I used to have her stand on our old coffee table and we'd swing dance. Now she is I believe 23 years old today. Happy Bday Bobbyanna. Keep on shaking your tail feather 💜
Great performance. Love seeing Brian live on the Bass. Still, it’s ironic that this song charted at number 2, while “Wouldn’t it Be Nice” only made it to number 8. I could see how Brian would find that disappointing as a songwriter
Thanks daveee78, sounds like you know your stuff. You raise a good point to about why people who dislike this song are even here. It may not be their best version, but it is pretty cool to see them live. I have a couple of tapes of the Beach Boys and the Grateful Dead playing together in the late 70's. Needless to say some of the recordings are almost incoherent, but occassionaly, they are spot on. I would have liked to see them both play.
I've had this song stuck in my head for a while, and when I hum it, my friend always asks if I'm singing the minions song. This generation just hasn't heard good music.😂😂😂 (Ironic because I'm 13 😅😂😂)
I'm 14 and my school always allows registered guitar players to bring their guitars twice a week. the only freshmen is me and my friend. the other three are seniors. at least they know good music. got love the harmony of I Get Around!👌
GracieGrace Ignore that person. No one should talk like that to anyone, especially not to a 13 year old. Glad you've discovered the joy of the Beach Boys! There's a whole world of good music out there, don't write modern stuff off completely, there's still great bands if you look outside of the charts!
Damn! Brian is hittin those high notes. Really great. :)
0:48 Get 'em, Carl!

Fab thats made my days.

Awesome performance and Brian actually looked like he enjoyed performing live on stage.
How effing good are the Beach Boys? Damn

My daughter thought the minions made up the song they sing, so I had to let her hear the original. 😃
Joy Jarvais dude this is a cover. not the original
John Vazquez WTF Do you mean? The beach boys made this song and their singing it.
No they didnt you fucking idiot. This song was originally performed in 1958 by a band named the regents and the beach boys simply did a cover of the song.Do you know that a cover is?

I love this song Barbara Ann
Jack Benny, those screaming girls, and most of all Mike Love have no idea that Brian was cooking up Pet Sounds in his head at that very moment.
And heading for a major league nervous breakdown.
Great live version of this tune!!

The Regents did it first.
