    I think the best advice would be to just cut sugar completely. I know most people don't want to hear that but it makes life so much simpler amd healthier.

      I had a friend who ate and drank plenty of sugary foods and sodas yet never got any cavities. That continued into his thirties without worry until he got diabetes. Yet, he still had no cavities. I didn't have that kind of confidence because I had plenty of them up to my early twenties. So I pretty much cut out sugar and think I was fortunate enough to have had them. Otherwise I might also continued and wound up a diabetic as well.

    I am a brazilian DDS and in college here in Brazil we learn in oral biochemistry class exactly what you have very well and easily acessibly explained in this very short and helpful video for the general population. We learn to prescribe alternatives for sugar and xylitol is a great one because it literaly makes the bacteria "explode" due to its inability to digest the xylitol, so it accumulates and thru osmosis breaks the bacterial cell due to intake of water.

But of course sugar is the food and toxin the by product. If you do eat sugar brush right away or consume the sugar w food ( like dessert ) and don’t sip soda all day long that’s bathing the teeth and providing bacteria w food all the time and yes PH always acidic in your mouth.

    True Story: July 2018, my teeth started to ache. I had a check up, and the dentist found multiple cavities. However, I could not afford to get the work done, so I popped ibuprofen to kill the pain. Coincidentally, that same month, I began reducing my sugar (because of Berg's videos) until I barely ate any. The tooth pain lasted for about a month, then one day I realised it was gone. My mouth felt great. In August 2019, I slipped, and ate lots of sugary things for a few weeks. The throbbing pain returned. I was back to ibuprofen. I stopped eating sugar and the pain disappeared within five days. It's now September 24th and my cavities don't hurt. Some day, I'll be able to get my teeth fixed, but until them, I'm keeping the pain away by not eating sugar.

    Practicing dentist here. This is a very good, concise presentation of the basic etiology of dental caries.
    And to be clear, xylitol is not just another sugar substitute. It is an indigestible (to humans) sugar alcohol that also has bacteriostatic properties, meaning that the cavity-causing bacteria in your mouth are inhibited when they ingest it. At it’s most fundamental level, dental caries is an infectious disease that requires control of bacteria to fully address, and xylitol is one component of this.

      Addressing the number of sugar and acid exposures in the diet throughout the day is just one leg of the treatment process. The biggest one is sipping on water throughout the day instead of juices/sodas/energy drinks/sports drinks, which all contain sugars and are acidic.
      As far as restorative treatment for existing cavities, that would be dictated by the depth/extent of the decay and age of the child. As such, it’s hard to answer this without more info unfortunately.

      I think a lot of kids inherit candida overgrowth from within the womb of their mother and therefore adds to the problem. I did. And did everything I could as a child to get my hands on sugar. And ended up with a lot of cavities. Now that I have killed my candida overgrowth I don’t even crave sugar at all. I even can’t stand it sometimes.

      @@NeonHelix20 There's a homeopathic remedy called Aqua Flora that was recommended to me by a knowledgeable health store owner. It worked incredibly well for me and my young daughter. I'd been suffering from recurrent yeast infections for years and she'd been struggling with recurrent ear infections for months. After the treatment with Aqua Flora we were both cured and no more yeast or ear infections ever again. That was over 18 years ago. I swear by it and recommend it to everyone, but it's a little hard to find these days. Try googling it or check with your local health food stores. It's very easy to take, looks and tastes like water. May take a few rounds to eradicate if your candida overgrowth has been really bad for a long time. I believe they have a phase one and two now. Meanwhile, you also need to cut down on anything that feeds candida, like sugary foods and beverages, fruit, wine and beer, anything yeasty (so most baked goods), starchy vegetables, fermented foods, and ideally dairy and grains. Eventually many of these things can be reintroduced in moderation, but initially when trying to cure the infection you have to be pretty strict with diet. There are other things you can do too. Check out some good candida curing books from the library and try the Internet for more info.

The keto diet is great because it is a sustainable way of eating less calories without feeling hungry but you can lose fat on virtually any diet if create a caloric deficit. If you are losing fat right now it is because you are in a deficit. The moment you start eating your maintenance calories, your weight will stabilize.

    Something else important to consider with regard to the genesis of cavities is consuming foods with phytic acid. This would be grains, beans, seeds and nuts. Therefore, I am extremely cautious with not using almond flour, or many nuts or seeds at all as the phytic acid will interfere with the uptake of magnesium and calcium. Soaking and dehydrating or roasting nuts and seeds is one way to decrease this anti-nutrient. Also, taking calcium and/or Vit C with nut/seed intake can help mitigate to some degree. But for a person with serious tooth decay, they should stay away and focus on healing the cavity naturally through eating animal protein and raw milk to restore the vital nutrients. Believe me, I've been down this road and just passing it along for others. See Weston A. Price Foundation (WAPF) for more. He was an anthropological dentist who made a study of remote cultures and how their teeth changed once they forsook their natural diets.

      As a practicing dentist of over 15 years. Your teeth get yellowed as we age. It has to do with the foods we eat but also the internal tooth structure thickening. Only way to improve it somewhat would be to start some sort of whitening regimen. It isnt a one time thing. If you want them to stay whiter you would need to do it consistently for as long as you want lighter teeth. Like every 6months or so. Either in a dental office or by using at home whitening trays provided by a dental office.

      Teeth CAN repair themselves, so to speak. Our saliva is meant to repair the wear and tear on tooth enamel; mineral deficiencies prevent this process from occurring. I didn't know this until I was watching a Japanese tv show where the natural repair of a cavity was part of the plot. After a little research I found that yes, our bodies are supposed to be able to repair our teeth! That's why so many premium dental products contain a phosphate - our teeth are made of calcium and phosphorus, so when our saliva lacks one or the other, our teeth deteriorate and can't heal. I tried a mouth rinse I made from trisodium phosphate and water, and yes, my enamel grew back. I haven't been to the dentist since 2003.

    • @Cece_Si
      @Cece_Si 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey E Dennis Minerals in our saliva like calcium , phosphate and fluoride from toothpaste, water, and other sources helps enamel repair itself by replacing minerals lost during tooth decay or any demineralization and they even make the teeth stronger by changing the bond from hydroxyapatite to fluorapatite but what i was sayin was the actual enamel deposition or new enamel formation doesn’t take place bc the cells die at early . I’ll be happy to read furthermore studies and new findings if there are ....Thank you :-)

    • @toothrestorer6588
      @toothrestorer6588 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @ E Dennis. Yes enamel has the ability to remineralize due with proper hygiene and remineralizing agents, but it cannot repair actual wear Once the enamel is worn down, it does not grow back.
