@@maryjostover7753 when you're making the rib part she says to do rows in multiples of 6 based on the head size and then aslo decrease accordingly. Maybe for a baby 30 rows will be enough? But maybe it will depend on the size of yarn. Just try on the rib by itself first before doing the rest
Hello! I'm hoping you may be able to help me since you modified the pattern as well. I ended up with more rows in the rib (66). When I begin to decrease, would I do 9 DC and 2 DCTOG?
That was amazing. I’ve watched several videos, and by far yours is the easiest and fastest. Thank you for this, I have 50-75 hats to make for my airline crews I pickup at work, and in different colors, I’m so excited to get them done from your video. Thank you.
Making this hat was very easy for a beginner like me.. first time making and your instruction was very easy to follow.. Thank u for showing us Step by step.. Now I will be wearing my hat for the Christmas plus I going to make one for my son.. Thank u Thank u
FANTASTIC TUTORIAL. My stitch counts were slightly off so initially I chose to not count the ch 3 in my stitches, then it magically aligned with yours with counting the chains...so idk how that happened but it turned out amazing. Thank you for such clear instructions! Making my husband and I one! 😍
Hello. I love this video. I have made 2 hats this week. I put 54 stitches, but if I decided to go smaller for a child, how many stitches would I have to do and would it effect the instructions?
Not at all! Any multiple of 6 will work. Let's say you took 42 stitches to begin with. The stitches they will be divided in 6 sections each section having 7 stitches. So when to start decreasing, out of the 7 stitches do 1dc in first 5 and then the last 2 together. Hope that made sense
How would I be able to get more length on the red? I absolutely love this pattern and have made several for friends and family but I would love to redo mine to add more length.
I'm really struggling with 😢 with the decreasing,my brims are 60sc. starting with round 7, I make 8dc then 2dctogo right. Rd.9 my decrease should be 7dc correct? I'm so lost
Can you explain how to count your rows on the ribbed brim? I think I did 30 for a baby hat but I want to double check. How do you crochet the sc in around the brim once flipped? I’m losing track easily! How does this change crocheting the red part of the hat?
Just count the raised parts of the brim. Your number of rows is double of that. Place one single crochet for each row that way you'll have same number of sc as rows. It might help if you think of placing one single crochet on either side of a rib. If you have made 30 rows to begin with start following the pattern from round 14 onwards for the red part.
That depends on the thickness of your yarn but it probably will be too big. This hat is adult size. I'd suggest crocheting the rib part first with rows multiple of six, then try only that part on your baby first before continuing
Thank goodness you told how to do the different sizes. I wanted to make one for my nephew but was not finding a pattern
Where did you see for the different sizes? I would like to do for a 10 month old. Thanks

Only thing is used 70 sts around the red part
Now I dunno how
To follow this pattern the stitch count needs to be a multiple of 6😅

@@mbmama you can just make a few more rounds of red before starting to decrease 💗
@ thank you!
If my brim is 60 instead of 54, would I do 13dc instead of 7dc for the decrease
If your brim is 60 then you'll start with 8dc, dec💗

Yes exactly 💕💕
@@cutecrochet thank you so much! I really appreciate the hard work you put into this tutorial and your quick response! ❤️
My pleasure 🥰
hi will dk yarn work for this
Yes absolutely 👍
Thank you🙏
How to double the yarn?? Any tips?
Just get two skeins of yarn, grab one strand from each and hold together, that's it. Make sure to use a larger hook size also
How much yarn did you use please?
About 150grams of the red and 50 grams of the white
Do you have pattern for baby?
@@JaneLongtin you can easy adapt the pattern to fit the baby perfectly. I explain how to do that in the video💗
What size you make?
Mine was a good size for adult woman. You can easily make a size custom to fit you💗
I'm not hating but this is really hard
Maybe slow down the video a bit. I promise it's really easy 💗
