timmy: the children has one of the greatest chord progressions and most beautiful vocal harmonies I've ever heard. Is it based on a specific song from tommy by the who?
I remembered getting into light drugs at the time. Pot, different herbal blends, and that stuff that turned out to just be unisom with 10x the strength and I remember freaking out because I kept hearing “Timmy run away Timmy run away” and woke up and this was on.
If you watch the actual episode, you can see that this isn't played all at once. The rock opera is shown in smaller clips between other scenes where John McGuirk is recovering from lazer eye surgery.
this was great and I wish they'd done a whole episode about this. the blind psychic mcgurk thing and this seemed too far apart.....but then I hear it's based on a movie/album with the same concepts from the musical here and the actual episode plot so....... guess you'd have to be in the know to know WHO or what it is parodying

I always think about what they did with that money. Brendon could have finally got a new camera with the fish eye lens and everything.
@@theboldone1961 i figured they gave some to mcguirk to pay off the swords lmao
this has to be one of the best movies they made

Concept album by The Who, it was also adapted into a movie in 1975.
@@EdMan6623 oh right? this was based on something called Tommy?
@@troywright359 Yeah, "Tommy" by The Who. It tells the story of a child who goes blind, deaf, and dumb, and his subsequent healing.
with tallents like this, its a shame Brendon ended up working at a video rental store in Clarence
Does Tommy make as little sense as this?
I mean almost? It's about a blind deaf and mute (through psychological scarring not actual physical ailments) kid that becomes a pinball playing prodigy then forms a religion when he can see and hear again.

They even have him running against random backdrops like in the movie.
timmy: the children has one of the greatest chord progressions and most beautiful vocal harmonies I've ever heard. Is it based on a specific song from tommy by the who?
It probably takes some inspiration from the "Looking At You" chant that closes out the album (last three minutes or so of "We're Not Gonna Take It")
