@@alligatorboy2000 he started playing in b1.2, 13 years ago, the RPG series was in beta 1.4, which funny enough, his series was the reason I started playing the game
VERY COOL! I feel that old minecraft is just as good as newer minecraft as long as you’re willing to get creative with texturing and small details, like the bridge having pressure plates to support the signs.
Funny experiment, but this is exactly why I love Beta Minecraft. None of these modern techniques work. No one uses "gradients" in Beta. It's simple and fun. I love it. Everything that annoyed you are reasons why I love it 😅
@@LeonSBU Well... admittedly, whether Beta was more simple or not is... actually a bit more complicated than it might seem! A lot of people look back on Beta Minecraft and assume everyone back in 2011 played the game entirely vanilla, but that was far from the case! The modding scene was HUGE for minecraft back then! And the playerbase was much different too, 20-30 year olds, most of which had some kind of programming or science background (which might explain why redstone is a feature, that was the kind of target audience Notch originally wanted) A ton of us back during the Beta days thought it was a bit too simplistic (even back then!) and after getting tired of waiting for Notch to add the features we wanted, we used tons of mods to add more content in ourselves! You may have heard of some of the big ones like Tekkit/Technic, Aether, etc. There was also lots of building focused mods that just added tons and tons of blocks to build with! Dozens of new wood types, including stuff even Mojang still hasn't done like different wood types for chests and boats! And don't forget FURNATURE!!! Tables, chairs, you name it. That was huge! Seems a bit lacking that it only had about 10 mobs, huh? Well, there were mods for that too! Passive creature mods, hostile creature mods... All kinds to choose from. And waaay before the Nether update we had hundreds of modded biomes for each dimension all adding cool new blocks to play with! It was like the perfect simple basic simplistic game, not just to play, but also... to be the ideal blank canvas to install your preferred mods onto to turn it into any type of game you'd like! 😂 Factory game? Sure! Tower defense? Absolutely! Futuristic space exploration game? Why not! Post apocalyptic? For sure! City builder? Ok! Fantasy game! Of course! Then XP, Enchanting, Potions, etc. were added and it was a lot harder for mods to completely break away from the fantasy aspect. And of course, more and more vanilla features, blocks, items, etc. were added with each update after that too.... It was no longer a blank slate that you could turn into any type of game you wanted.
This reminds me of when I used to play mincraft on my X-box and wonder how the youtubers could do things like world edit. I would see people playing skyblock and build it by hand :)
It's a small detail but the tree leaning in the same direction as the flags is a nice touch. This is really impressive for beta. It can be hard to avoid that 2012 stonecraft look.
Wow. Peak spoiled dude! 😉 a great teacher once said, limit yourself and you will find greatness. Nice video. And… „I only got this wall“ well. Most players need weeks for that. Keep that in mind!
This reminded me of when I used to play the console versions of minecraft (ps3 and later nintendo switch), and it was such a tedious process to make a big build even in creative mode. I wondered how people made adventure maps (and I even tried to replicate some, making them block by block until I eventually got tired). Yeah when I was older and could get a computer with java minecraft... It was a revelation.
You can't build with ore blocks in survival in beta minecraft so sadly I think not having creative kinda suck though but then they added in the next version before minecraft 1.0
I mean ppl didnt gradient back then it was the craze to just wall clutter and just layer endlessly, look at really old gazamo builds lol, great job btw
@@arizonaxperience i actually did use this mod (or some version of it) - when i made this video i had access to a few commands. the only ones that i ended up using were to turn off weather & reset the time back to day
Super awesome Mr. leonSBU i love your videos❤I have one question though🤔how do you take out your time to record the video, then edit it all by yourself? That must be so tiring and if you do get tired please dont overwork yourself cus i genuinely believe your videos are really good and well edited so yeah i was thinking if you overwork yourself❤😊
thanks! it is a good bit of work, hence why i only get a video out every couple weeks :) but i do record and edit everything myself! and nah, i wouldn't say i'm overworked, i appreciate the concern though.
i used a mod loader called "Babric" (beta Fabric), unfortunately i've been doing some googling and i can't seem to find links to the original mod site i found! sorry about that 😅 not sure where it's gone...
That's correct, we built like Lego and one of the best blocks were smooth stones and slabs. Glowstone and glass. And pixel wool art. 2011... Maybe 2010. Where do you think dirt shak first base started? 😂 I played with alpha. It was a birthday gidt from my next door neighbour.
also, the betafog makes up for the height limit, the way the fog is in beta (acting like actual fog instead of a crappy white border) it makes things look larger at a distance due to the way it disappears into the fog
i used to make more shorts, they're not really my thing though. i'm not interested in taking my existing videos and chopping them up into shorts, and often times these days i don't have ideas or motivation to make unique shorts
Ikr, yeah it is nice to go back and all, but it's pretty much entirely just nostalgia bias. No beta isn't better than current minecraft (ppl genuinely say this)
It just being mostly nostalga is easily disproved by the thousands playing beta who weren’t playing in yet in 2011. There are quite few things I like in beta more than modern Minecraft as a 2015 player. Although I do agree that overall the modern version is better.

absolutely, it was kinda a shame i had to mod in creative mode just to play on beta 1.7.3
You can build with the metallic ores, just not the gemstone ores. The coal wouldn't work, sure, but the iron he used was 100% doable in survival.
