What got me thinking about it was Dead Island, a similar game. In the game, there’s variations of zombies that do different attacks, etc. There’s the walkers, but then there’s a variant called “infected”, that run and attack very quickly. This always confused me, because well, aren’t every variation technically “infected”? But one day while I was playing, my sister pointed out their speed in combination with how relatively pristine their skin and clothes were. She suggested that they’re called “infected” because they’re only recently infected without a chance to fully die or turn yet, and so they’re given privileges that the other, more rotten and decomposed walkers have, such as fast movement speed and a distinctive human-like scream.
This is a bit more of a loose one but in Call of the dead, the Zombies also seem to understand how to use Ziplines and climb the ship’s anchors. This could be the fact some of the zombies were trained stuntmen for the film but then again they look more like actual soldiers but maybe it could be cosplay
I know. I still think the zombie ai on Ascension works the same but Shi no numa's zombies definitely didn't have the same walking animations they did in Waw.
@@jbroz_tv0138 edit they do not I was playing all cods with zombie’s yesterday they do not. The remastered maps are disgustingly disappointing the horror is gone. The maps that mad 7-12 me shit my pants ain’t scary. Cool there faster with better AI but those maps had more love put into them maybe cause zombies wasn’t as big today. Idk but those maps definitely ain’t something to go back to it made certain maps that had been easy down right not even fun anymore. Most the time I get pissed at how the “newer and better” versions make shit harder. game modes already hard on those maps why make it not even enjoyable. @@v.h.sclique283 Yeah Chronicles definitely focused more on beauty than it did on the horror aspect. Which is kinda disappointing, but then again most zombies players in the community don't really play the mode to get scared. Also Bo3's remasters are easier than the originals. Unless your playing waw solo cause 3 out of the 4 maps literally only spawn 24 zombies per round. @@jbroz_tv0138I agree with all of that.
I noticed that with the german zombies. How some that are walking started to march like in a parade. Always made me a bit sad yet spooked
This is a bit more of a loose one but in Call of the dead, the Zombies also seem to understand how to use Ziplines and climb the ship’s anchors. This could be the fact some of the zombies were trained stuntmen for the film but then again they look more like actual soldiers but maybe it could be cosplay
I'm certain it's a little of both alot of stunt people are former military or police and they were dressed up as soldiers for the movie
The zombies were russian sailors and Spetsnaz soldiers that were on the ship and resurrected with 115.
Verruckt sprinters we’re the most terrifying form of zombies and I think I still want them back 😂
"mmm meth up ss zombies"
With green run they could’ve done something similar with the straight jacket zombies but for some reason they didn’t
I’m so glad I found your channel, I’m reliving my childhood all over again
I caught on to the Japanese soldiers walking like that. And then the Spetznaz...😂😂😂😂
Should've kept it in the bo3 remake
I might be ranting but the laughably bad with the intent of good. Just shows me the Jimmy cared more about the horror and simplistic function of waw to eat bo2
@@v.h.sclique283
Yeah Chronicles definitely focused more on beauty than it did on the horror aspect. Which is kinda disappointing, but then again most zombies players in the community don't really play the mode to get scared. Also Bo3's remasters are easier than the originals. Unless your playing waw solo cause 3 out of the 4 maps literally only spawn 24 zombies per round. But as for Der Reise and every thing past that leading into bo1 and 2 are more challenging than their Chronicles counterparts thanks to double paping, classic and mega gobblegums etc.
@@v.h.sclique283 I feel the same way about zombie chronicles don’t get me wrong the remasters look amazing but it just doesn’t feel the same like it ain’t scary and the guns just give it a turn off for me I wish they weren’t lazy and brought back some waw guns to at least make it feel kinda the same I just hate the futuristic bo3 guns they just feel out of place and sound like shit and I don’t like how they changed the way the zombies sound.
@@jbroz_tv0138I agree with all of that. I think SOME of the older touches are still there (like the thumping case past a window in Kino), but most were probably neglected because importing shit is hard. I'm no animator, but I'm gonna guess that ripping an animation from one old game into a much newer one is basically impossible, and I don't think Treyarch really wanted to work _that_ hard. I still wanna run around the remastered maps and look for other things (like the zombies in the pods in Kino on stage, the screams in Verruckt, the astronauts on Moon using names on your friends list and devs... I saw one that was literally Jason Blundell).
God I love these details. Miss shit like that
I didn’t know this and I’ve been obsessed with cod zombies since it’s beginning. Wow. Great video.
That was something I wish was brought in the remaster of Ascension
The zombies are actually still conscious according to die rise and the tranzit easter egg song
Verruckt run is terrifying
Especially when they can jump through a window with no barriers put up.
That's actually so cool, how have I never heard that before?
How have you never seen it before?
@@DemonSlayer-og8nmI've seem them walk weirdly but I didn't think it was for any particular reason or anything
That's muscle memory for ya
Science
Physics
They should have continued this with dolphin diving, sliding, Omni movement zombies.
When the Japanese Zombies suddenly killed you with a karate kick from afar that's when you're realize, you're fucked up
It’s something i noticed but never really put two and two together about it, really cool bit of detail though
I’m glad I kept scrolling the comments to find you
Imagine zombie doing a 1945 German salute 💀
Honestly they probably would have if censorship wasn't so strict.
They actually used to in BO 1 but it was very brief
Man i wish nazi zombies actually did that, like a leg dragging shamble with the right arm up, but because people are too damn sensitive we can't have anything like that
🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♂️
@@Wiggasaurushi!
I love how big games like Half Life (2+) and COD leave atleast some humanity in zombies and not make them just completely brain dead mutants that only walk with their hands to the front and barely standing on their feet
"And then you hear two zombies say: yo yo yo mr. White. And: you're goddamn right"
this makes sense i always remember getting so mad when a zombie would just barrel roll at me
Man the Verrükt zombies be smokin that za za
Everybody gangsta until the zombies starts doing god damn combat rolls 😂😂😂
Thought you were gonna say that in Ascension they were drunk so that's why they're hobbling all over the place.
Nah that’s just Nikolai
Zombie: dodges bullet
me:you are not supposed to do thar
Verrückt remains as the scariest zombies map to this day even if based purely on how the zombies act
F that those zombies was running 🏃♀️💀😭
If only in bo3 Trayach adds the zombie heads as Muhammad Ali for how fast they swing
Spetsnaz zombies be cool asf, change my mind.
COD zombies is truly one of my fondest memories of being a teen. What a wonderful and perfectly executed idea for a game mode that still holds up today.
I thought the Japanese were holding guns 💀💀
Does that mean that the host that got infected is conscious? Like in half life 2 where the headcrabs considered a parasite so the host stays alive
Well, Stu from Tranzit can hear the zombies in Die Rise, saying things like "He Lies", "Help", "Kill Me", so I think they're very much conscious, just prisoners in their own bodies
@@brendanboomhour7606 oh , *oh no*
@@brendanboomhour7606 I mean it’s possible that not all the zombies died naturally or bitten by other zombies, it’s possible that 115 corrupted them while they were still alive so they’re most likely fully aware that they’re chasing you.
@@Squiddy-go1du yeah, but there's also the chance that those resurrected via 115 could still retain at least partial consciousness, after all, 935 were able to program zombies, at least semi-successfully, they'd have to have some prescience of mind for that to be possible at all
In for rise if you play as stu he can occasionally hear zombies cry out for help or beg for death. And as the zombies have blue eyes there it tells us that they’re still conscious at least when richtoften is in control however it is possible that they’re also conscious when Sam’s in control. Possibly confirmed by the fact that when you get the zombie blood power up in origins and Samantha starts speaking she actually gives orders to the zombies or explains what the plan is to them
Verruckt a different level of scary bro 😭
I thought the Japanese were walking as if they were concealing bombs
It’s the charming little details like this that games are missing now a days
This is why I love the OG call duty zombies because of little details like this. Make the game more!!! amazing and fun to play. These details are insanely interesting and cool… I admire this game and the old ones so much I can’t believe the zombies franchise has died…
W frosty. This is the least known best zombie fact I know. I might’ve even told you this, I remember commenting this a little while ago but don’t remember if it was on your post or nah.
I think I remember your comment ya, thank you!
@@TheFrosty_1 no problem bro
Imagine the templar zombies parrying your knife 💀💀
I mean they do have chainmail armour so they could probably block it
I'm actually surprised they didn't increase their defense to melee knife attacks.
Cod Zombies will never show use what Italian or Russian zombies would look like.
Ascension and Gorod Krovi are Russian zombies…
@@Squiddy-go1du ah ok thanks for the info- but I wish there was Italian soldiers now-for facist Italy since there is nazi and Japanese zombies of WW2 axis soldier's.
@@DoctorCrowGimi.. I would also like that but unfortunately no COD game as ever used Italy. It’s usually the USA, UK, India, Russia, Cuba, Japan, China and Egypt.
They put so much detail into their games I miss the old cods
These details are so cool!
I think the Japanese soldier's stance is based on the bayonet charge/stab when it was alive.
Yeah
I think occasionally a sprinter will do a full on Banzai charge but I do believe he is correct about the walkers we see here as they have their hands a little higher up than they would if they were charging if you look at their feet they never cross each other. Everything about the movement seen here suggests that this particular zombie is in an unarmed combat stance
The spetsnaz zombies in Ascension just dodge your attacks like your little brother who doesn't want to get hurt when you play pretend 💀💀💀
Brain might be rotten by muscle memory working hard
The Spetsnaz are such an elite group they even dodge in the after lifr
Verruckt is terrifying when you get cornered
Getting cornered in verruckt is one of those experiences that teaches you to try and keep a loaded lmg on standby just in case
