“My technique for hot swapping cams is to put the right one in in the first place” 😂😂😂
This is the project I love the most.
You guys always kill it.
Thank you stay tuned!
Man make more videos. Great content.
Working on it!
I've been waiting on this!!!
John is the man!
we are lucky to work with john (black tie race fab) he is an amazing fabricator and a lot of fun to be around.
Baron
Very impressive build!
You should build one to. Great videos BTW. Im the one who gave you the honey in the engine idea years ago.
@projectfarm nice to see you are a fan of PDD! Love your channel as much as I enjoy PDD
cummings driven Torque converter 💨💨💨💨💨💨
thank you, we really loved having you come visit us and we would love to have you back when you would like to add more power.
Try an 8 hole injector. My experience has been the p pump 24v don’t like the 5 hole as much as the little 12v bowls do. I had a set oh honed 8x.015 that made 1300+ engine hp on a p pump 24v fuel only with a box stock s480
We will look into that, thanks for the advise.
Baron
Good to see you back at it Todd! Can’t say I’m not a little disappointed to see you not in the Godfather though. Hopefully someday you two can make another run at UCC. I know you can win that whole thing. You guys know how to make the power. You just need tough enough parts to hold the power 😂
You will see the Godfather back at it again. we just have a lot of work still to do.
Baron
Todd thanks for sharing! Love the content. Happy to see you doing videos again
Glad you like them!
Honestly I love seeing engine builds from left over parts. I have had a couple nice street race engines from left overs from other people. Granted they were gas motors but. When your not rich you do what you can to be able to play
It's feel feels much better when parts are in builds rather than rotting away on some shelf!
I like the concept but I feel like it's not doing the truck justice without having some some fenders on it looking a little bit more like how it was when you got it you know putting some hollowed quarters on it you know with a front clip mean that the the the cart things cool but just I think it does it better justice having at least some fenders or box sides if you would and definitely front fenders I would just run that and then open hood.
Wonder what would happen if you slapped some cut Super Swampers on it, and went sled pulling?
Did you check the cylinders with a dial bore gauge? Just curious
Love the content Todd! Can’t wait to see where this build goes!
More to come!
More to come!
Saw that thing run at the NHRDA world finals!
Mf block said nah im out 😐🫡
🤘🐍🤘
Haha! Dingle berry! Even at 36 that just sounds so funny to me. That's an awesome truck though
Oh yea!!! Love the video!!! Keep them Coming!!!! Cant wait to see more!!!!!
More to come!
This is it man this is so cool
D-roy the savage
Does it have a 5.9 crank?
Would that workout?
Has a 6.7 crank
Love this build, I’m currently working on a similar one not in terms of power but as far as a diesel cart. It’s an lb7 duramax going into a mid sized ‘82 Monte Carlo. Tube frame chassis used to be a dirt track car that I’m converting back to street stock, it’s ridiculously light (you can pick up either end with no engine or transmission) and will be AWD. Goal power is about 450-500 horse and around 650 torque, I’m super excited and any tips/advice will be appreciated.
Keep going Todd! That thing is gonna fly when you get it dialed!!!
we are excited to see what happens with this truck.
Baron
Considering without nos it's fairly black i wonder if the big singles not big enough. Seems like it gets on converter just fine, wonder about a bigger one or compound for the top end. At the end of the day the nos is just simulating more air flow into the engine
Todd really thinking about putting compounds on it.
Baron
I wish my definition of "not making a ton of power" was the same as yours... lol😂
Even after fluffing around with that motor for round two,it still looks like a crispy clean unit back in the truck 👌 how gooooood
thank you, the goal with the cummins cart was to make it as easy to work on as possible
Its about friggin time! This project will yield more ported head options from PDD for the VP guys I hope!
we currently have 32 ported heads on the shelf for VP's
Socool
So this thing goes straight.... How long before it has compounds? lol
I'm debating heavily. I really want to keep it light but I do have this thing for big power...
@@pddofficial One more turbo and some piping is only another 100-110lbs, on a 3500-4000lbs truck. You know you want to.
A BROKEN delivery valve? Dang, that pressure is no joke.
Seems like this truck is rolling down the track smoothly - a lot more than the godfather. Looks and sounds like really good news here.
Delivery valve failures are very rear but do happen from time to time, thankfully we had the emergency shut down valve and he was able to pull of the track with no issues.
Baron
Don’t put nos before the intercooler, let it do its job and put the nos after the intercooler!! Gale banks figured that out along time ago brother!! And did a video on it!
Thanks to you guys. I stole the idea to do a full engine rebuild in frame in my 1998.5 Cummins 24v currently putting a full nv4500 swap
Nice👍
Great job on this truck always love to see what can be done. I use my truck mostly for hauling hay try keeping it under 40k weight never seems possible.
wow sounds like your pushing that truck to its limits often.
Baron
Sooo you didn’t have nitrous
Nope🤦♂️🤦♂️
First 👊🏻💪🏻
and Tod is back in the truck were he should be.
awesome build awesome video.
thanks, we are all excited to see where this project goes.
Baron
What pistons are you running in the 24v motor? I am getting my block back from the machine shop this week and need to order pistons but can't find anything with the right bowl
Isb narrow bowl from 6.7 with 45* of timing
Crank case and exhaust manifold before the turbo back pressure
Watching the guys scuttle after the engine blows is kinda funny
It will be fun to see what this truck is capable of, big singles with giggle gas are a good party! 🎉
Yes we can't wait!
I love it great job
i like it! a lot!
Thanks! Your Coalstang is awesome as well!!
Sweet new toy, have some fun with it!
How tall are you?
6'9"
Love the kill butterfly and BOV pairing.
thanks
that candle will light 😂
D-roy!!!!
Oh that's funny!
nice😎
Thanks ✌
Wow... cool shit man. Massive commitment and drive.
Yes it is! Thanks for watching!
This is super cool!
Has anybody tried to direct into the cylinder nitrous injection through a glow plug hole? not seen any info online about this, so would be good to know if anybody has tried this approach.
They don’t have glow plugs, so no holes to do it.
A duramax guy could try that
Taylor is a legend..
Torque = Pound-Feet
The guy in the hat shit his pants
Turn it into a trophy truck
But how do you shedtheheattowing it's really hard to shed the heat then it heat soaks the trans which hurt shifting and the electronic in the trans not to mention motor gets to hot
what is the time stamp in the video you are referring to. we would love know what exactly your referring to.
Baron
Where the next part ? Lol
Did yall give up on chasing the 3k hp ?
Not entirely, we have that Chaos American cast ductile block specifically for making obscene power!
Keep chipping away at it and you will get it dialed in and Fast!
Just remember it’s all about the fun!
thanks for your support, we love racing and know there is still a lot to learn to make this machine even better.
Baron
Here from your short, great evolution ! Thank you for putting it out on here 👍
I think a powerglide transmission would do wonders on the wheel spin
The Powerglide is much lighter weight for sure, at least 125 lbs weight savings. But do they make a 4x4 version that will mate up to an HD transfer case and do they have large enough shafts and planetaries to handle 3000 ft lbs of torque?
Cum-roy... leroy's cummins brother
Nothing is easy@powerdrivendiesel if it was everyone would be doing it, chip away little wins learn the vehicle and it's mannerisms don't beat yourself up over it. Things take time and I lost it when the comment from Will we all need mates like that to spur us on, I mean how lucky can a bloke be you have 2 Will & Meyer so your all set they're all full of good ideas and suggestions 😅😅😅😅😅 Well done once you get a firm hold on it your going to have a blast.
Thanks for the encouragement, we love having guys like you cheering us on and wanting us to succeed.
Baron
Where did you guys get the slim T6 to vband adapter? That thing is slick!
keating machine
What data logger system are you using these days?
Of course, moments after I post he showed is the data logger…
RPM
LIKE A SUNDAY DRIVE....BUT FAST 😂
originally when he made the Godfather he had a passenger seat in it so he could take friends for rides, but since our first UCC we removed the seat and he has missed taking others out and scaring them since.
Baron
I NEED that billet power driven diesel valve cover!!!!!!!😩
we currently are not going to manufacture them, that could change if we see a lot of demand for it.
Baron
That intake mainfold looks its flows crap air dont like to bend a corner.
Get an beter flowing intakemainfold made.
This one the back cyl get less airmass then mid front cyl.
Egt wil be higher at these back cyl.
This comment gave me a stroke
we have done a lot of testing with individual runner intake vs the intake shelf. what we have learned is we can get more air into the cylinders using a shelf then a fancy manifold, it also is easier to work around and less expensive to manufacture.
We have egt ports on every exhaust port and the egt difference between cylinders is negligible.
Baron
nice to know those dodge axles can take a lot more then what most put into them...
its amazing what kind of power you can put through a Dana 70.
Baron
In frame gang
absolutely, it is also made easier because we don't have an engine cross member in the way.
Baron
This gonna be a sweet build!
it is already a lot of fun but we are really excited to see where this project goes.
Baron
Where do you guys install the crank case pressure sensor on the common rail block?
Great video looking forward to watching more of this trucks progression
it can be installed pretty much anywhere that sees crank case pressure, valve cover, front timing cover, tappet cover, lift pump block off plate, we have ours in the valve cover
Baron
@@pddofficial that’s awesome info I appreciate it
What would you consider a “high” pressure reading and say a normalish reading for a cummins
Thanks
I say take that to the freedom factory and challenge cleetus .
we would love to do that.
Baron
More compound turbo 6.0 stuff!
Soon!!
Love the videos and the truck. 🙃
Thanks 👍
Looks awesome man
thanks
I just wonder how much it weighs. Has anyone done a full tube frame chassis and mount a cab to it?
we are currently building a full tube frame for the Godfather. the cummins cart has a tube frame from the back of the cab (back halved ). I will get back to you on the weight.
Baron
it weighs 4438lb with Todd in it.
Baron
@@pddofficial thank you 🙏
Todd is the "Sasquatch" that so many reports are made on.
LOL
@@pddofficialBut forealz. I'd be OK, being his size...
Friggin giant.
Anyway, love the PDD vids. 👍
Would be happier ifi could get my pickup on your dyno. ❤ 😮
Details on the valve on the intercooler tube?
there are two valves you could be referring to. one is an emergency shut down valve, it has a butterfly similar to a throttle body that is spring loaded and can be engaged if the truck runs away and it will cut of the engines air supply. the second is a blow off valve that is engaged if the emergency valve is engaged to prevent damage to the turbo, from all that pressurized air being forced back through the turbo.
Baron
@pddofficial I know what they do im curious where I buy them. A simple Google search lead me nowhere
@pddofficial where do we buy them?
I love how Will has the fancy Snapon piston hammer then proceeds to use the handle 😂😂 at 3:51
How the hell is that a go-kart?
