Battletech could work really well as a tv show. The lore has so many different tropes that you can intertwine in interesting ways. Court intrigues, mystery from the deep periphery, lostech treasure hunting, solaris gladiators, clashing ideologies, futuristic cities, merc life, betrayal, war crimes, heroic "last stand" battles. The rise and fall of star empires. Earlier in the timeline you even got spacebattles. A show like that wouldn't be so much of a financial risk anymore. I hope someone gives it a shot.
I always felt they could start with something small yet relevant, fresh fiction. The story that suits it best would be the genesis of Avanti's Angels during the clan invasion. Just enough political intrigue to hint at the many layers of the 'Game of Thrones' going on, but close enough to the front lines, and of course taking place during the maelstrom of the clan invasion, and offers the directly opposite viewpoint of this game.

@@MrTBSC im not saying they gotta be 7 feet tall and look like the liver king, but these guys look closer to aerotech sibkin than clanner mechwarriors. read a book guy.
@@artiesykes I don't really wanna fight, but maybe your view of the human form is a bit skewered? These people look healthy, athletic, immaculate. Definitely not weak or slim or light... Look at most MMA fighters outside of the heavyweights, but how they look in everyday clothes. Maybe it's the uniform that really doesn't do them justice.
@@Washeek they look starved and emaciated, gaunt almost. they neither look athletic or immaculate. there's bigger and better fed looking inner sphere mechwariors. these kids look more akin to the clan aerotech pilots who are skinnier and lighter to withstand the higher G forces. my view of the human form has nothing to do with basic physics, descriptions from the books and the general atmosphere mechwarriors find themselves in. again, im not saying, nor have i ever said they need to be beefcake roided out liver king looking buggers, but they should have shoulders, they should have filled out arms and legs as a result of being part of the warrior caste. i beseech you try reading a few of the books. they're really good. after that, try going to a gym for a couple years. see how your body changes. and yes, i do mean years because these clan warriors train from early age in hand to hand combat, weight and endurance training and are actually fed well compared to the inner sphere counterparts. they are engineered to be warriors. bigger, stronger and faster than their original inner sphere sources. it's stated in the books repeatedly.
So I hate to say it but this concerns me as it shows that whoever provided the actor with direction honestly doesn't understand the source material. It is made abundantly clear in novels such as the Legend of the Jade Phoenix that the officers assigned to sibko duty were washed up warriors on their way out, and had nothing but contempt for those they were training. There would be no 'i see greatness in this kid' moments, just being a hard ass for the sake of being a hard ass. This worries me because it shows the writing staff just doesn't understand the material they are working with. Im really hoping that this oversight with the writing of this character is just a one off situation, and not indicative of the project as a whole, as I do want to see it succeed, it just worries me that something like this would slip past the writing room and make it into the hands of the direction team.
The actors are fine. The trope is weak. The portrayal does not fit a militant mindset society at all. This is shaping up to be Breakfast Club Mecha from the looks of it. I'll just skip the scenes and go blasting I guess. But I am definitely waiting for input before putting my dollar into it.
Clan names have literally nothing to do with parentage. They are only given a first name at birth, taken from the clan records of warriors. They have to earn their family name, or "bloodname", through trial by combat. This guy here is a bloodnamed warrior, so a certified badass by definition. However he is also old and on the verge of being "solahma", a big no-no in clan culture, warriors are supposed to die young. Clans are weird like that😂. This is also a reason why Cordera Perez looks like he is in his late 20's early 30's, despite being the equivalent of a general. Clan warriors are literally bred for combat since the youngest age.
Solahma reminds me of the Comanches who would reject the old and be arrogant, brash against them. The young Comanches are revered while the old were despised, mistreated. Definitely what happened out in the Wild West

CAN’T INVERT THE Y-AXIS?!?!? What a dumb choice. Glad this was on gamepass, so I don’t have to submit a refund request to Xbox. Well, at least I have an extra 56gb of space available on my hard drive now. DELETED!
Cool guy. Clearly solahma though. Stand aside, old-timer. Your views is what got you here: discarded.
Everyone is always quoting Nicholas Kerensky… give me Clan Wolf. I want to play for Clan Wolf again!

this character looks half decent as a battle hardened genetically crafted supersoldier but all the character models should be more bulked out and Ibrahim is about 8 - 10 years too old for a senior/elder in the clans. besides that, i have no other constructive criticism. his script and delivery fits the context and is promising.
bulked out? ... these are mechwarriors, not elementals
Maybe they shouldn't be posting these videos. Counterproductive.
PGI, good story telling comes from way more than MGS level cinematics, these characters look so bland
How so?
Jayden is a himbo with a stupid name and none of them seem to be interesting characters outside of being mechwarriors,
Wtf is that name
Welcome to Battletech!
"Ibrahim" is the Arabic form of Abraham. "Ismiril"... well, that one got me, too.
@@BushidoBasher Clanners believe that the only way for a warrior to reach their 30th birthday is to be a coward.
