Deino, Herra and Pthera gameplay with saltwater drinking will be so much more enjoyable, first thing is to travel to one of the south-east islands and take them over.

It's part of the horde test. Mutations and dibble are not in the live branch. Mutations were released on the first day of the horde test, along with dibble.
Seen a lot of people hyping up this mutation but the reality of it is that its going to be a newbie trap. Its nice for Deino if they want to travel around the edges of the island but then the question is, why would you? The only thing you will find at the shores is empty space and possibly another very hungry Deino and most/all locations you would want to travel to are possible or even easier to get to by moving from the rivers, sure there are some small ponds that will be easier to get to from the ocean but generally not a lot of people use those so why would a Deino want to go there in the first place? The "opportunity cost" of this mutation is just too high as long as there are silly mutations that have a direct impact on combat. Being able to drink salt water is cool but not so cool when you 99.9999997% of the time will get killed without really a chance of winning by a canni Deino rocking some "meta" combat mutations.
Still fun to give it a try and test it out. I do agree that it probably doesn't have much use now (oceans are barren and the water is crystal clear, so you can't even hide). Will be more fun once the ocean biomes are added I'm sure. Keep in mind too, this mutation is not just for deino. Could be useful in some way for coastal herbies (though I much prefer the rain version of the mutation, where you get water when it rains).
Thanks to this mutation, you can easily move from the swamp to the saltwater delta that is also a major migration area for diablo near South Plain. Hunted multiple of them in that spot and it's 100% viable and fun + you can have access to the only sea turtles of the map. In the long run , I feel like this mutation will allow deinos to move from one isolated spot of the map to another in a more efficient way than the river, bc you will have access to spots that were super hard to reach without having to nearly die of thrist. So you can basically reach the current hotpost and hunt dinos that did'nt even expected you to lurk here, and gain more mobility overall (and, as a bonus, if canni deino want to get you, they will have to find a way to reach you first). Sure, that mutation will gain much more potential once the ocean will be overhauled, but it's clearly not useless right now.
Is this only for horde testing version or can this be done on the regular evrima version I’m so confused 😕 on how this is done or where or wat version for that matter 😔just lost two crocs swimming tryna make it with the mutation
No wonder i never got it, i didnt drink salt the 3rd time only did it 2 times. Also how low does ur water have to be after the salt? Really low or red or what bout if you get the sickness?

This is easier to do with deino and cerato since they do not vomit. All other dinos will vomit. You just need to keep drinking, even if you vomit.
@@owenduck Hmmm.. a carnivore dino that is purely stuck to the water would be hard to play. People would just avoid the ocean and you will starve to death.
