Hi, I am planning to buy this machine. What is your review of it? How is the wifi connectivity? Is there significant screen wobble when typing hard and fast?
@@kumu141 No screen wobble. I am now on Ubuntu 20. Its more stable. For wifi to work on Ubuntu 20 I had to update to the latest kernel. No wifi issue on Ubuntu. Other than that keyboard is good screen is good. Very light laptop. The amd APU is great can even manage light gaming.
If you do not play casual games then I still find it difficult to recommend this over the MB Air which beats it in most everything (performance, display, battery, quality)? As ultrabooks go, the MB Air/Pro line still is the de facto choice for clamshells. For those that want Windows due to being better suited to that OS then this seems £200-300 over what I would expect for a Ryzen 7 ultrabook? Not a good value choice IMHO.
Really depends on the price. macbook air is a better laptop but because macbook air costs 1100€ when this with 5800u costs 600€-700€ where I live it is quite big price difference. I definetly like macbooks more but I feel like this is good enough option for most people. Especially students.
HP is amazing. first they use silver keys. then they print the letters on the keys in an ever so slightly different shade of silver and then they make you pay 1k for a 600 dollar laptop with silver letters on a silver keyboard with no back light...
Thanks for the heads up on Linux compatibility. Much appreciated.
I appreciate how detailed this review is. Now I don't have a single unanswered question about this laptop

No problem on ubuntu 20.04 LTS, great machine for web development
I would like to see RyzenController used in these reviews. For instance, it would be interesting to see what this laptop does at 25 or 30 watt TDP.
Is it ok to increase TDP for my laptop Honor Magicbook 14 that's using 3500U to 25W?
probably it would thermal throttle because the heat dissipation in such a compact light laptop is not designed to handle that TDP
