Just gotta love an s30z! 🤩 I'm expecting it to look a lot more like Forsberg's "Gold Leader" in a few weaks time, knowing the style of cars you go for!
it looks phenomenal, personally i wouldnt change it too much besides the chrome really, but you lads always make something savage so i think ill love whatever it turns out to be.
You got my childhood dream car. Prices for these have reached the state of unobtanium and decided to go towards the direction of purchasing what I considered my affordable dream car (Z32 2+2) and managed to score one for a very unexpected price. The concept of the Z32 is similar to your reasoning for purchasing the s30, love of the old Japanese sport cars with a taste of a v8 under the hood to give it some pep in its step. Mine is getting a truck based LS (budget setup and keeping it simple) and the body keeping an aspect of oem+ with areas focused on modernizing the vehicle to make it not only enjoyable to drive everyday, but be something that I can literally maintain without having to source parts that will make ownership of my Z a royal pain rather than a experience my childhood self would simply grin ear to ear the moment I even look at it. Can't wait to see how this car comes out.
Only problem with the early Chev small block is the atrocious cylinder heads as the middle of the cylinder heads have 2 exhaust valves sitting right next to each other. The later model heads fixed the problem by copying the Ford valve layout . As a result of the 2 exhaust valves sitting next to each other the engine suffers from exhaust valve seat distortion due to poor coolant flow through the cylinder heads and a water pump that varies greatly on the inlet to the cylinder block. The pump impeller is insufficient and the legs running from the impeller to the cylinder block are different sizes. We ended up reworking the pump inlet making sure that both legs are the same size. We changed the pump impeller and clearansed the impeller to the proper spec with respect to the wiping face of the pump body. The best coolant would be a Nano Glycol like Evans Waterless coolant or Liquid Intelligence. Having done extensive dyno work on these engines we found that with a stock cam they only really deliver power from 4 to 6 cylinders with a stock cooling system. Improve the pump and restrict the exit of the coolant and place the thermostat into the bottom radiator hose and you will get all 8 cylinders producing power.
Couldn't agree more about the power - I have a 240 with a 2JZGTE, when we tuned it we kept to 400RWHP to keep it driveable. Where I live there are mainly tight twisty mountain roads so at least there is a chance of staying on the tarmac. I'm sure the 700hp cars in the US are fun for highway pulls if thats your thing but not much use on twisty B roads.
Love classic Zs!! Have since I was a kid…I have an idea on your path. Motorsport look…takes the car to 11. I wish I could get my hands on one myself…one day!! Congratulations on your new addition!
As soon as I saw that gauge cluster I knew it was a 240z. That's been my dream car since I saw one as a kid, I can't wait to see what you do with this beauty.
To start off id Remove the bumpers , remove the chrome trim , new wheels , coilovers , give it power steering . Respray black or a wrap in black , rota tbt in bronze 🤤
Stunning, an all time dream car. Can't wait to see what you do with it, I'm sure it'll be a bit more special than the usual bolt on arches you see on them.
I think you made the right decision. The 240Z is a lovely car. I take its with Tripple 8 Customs already. Can't wait to see the transformation, they look so good wide bodied 😃
At 2:22 I already know what car by the silver mirror and the A Piller and window shape, finally got an original Z great choice of car looking forward to see how it ends up 👌
While it's sacrilege to put that motor in there, you're redeemed by the body. Not chopping up the panels and hiding the damage behind plastic. It looks like a bone stock 240Z on the outside minus the wheels so congrats for making such a beautiful car.
Beautiful car ! Best of luck with the upgrades . It would be fantastic with a Link ECU with the carburetor machined for injectors and motion raceworks rocker covers with smartcoils. Widebody kit with some Image 3 piece crossspoke rims . Topped off with a 3M midnight purple wrap . Look forward to seeing it in Longford 👍
Ho Lee Fook….. this is quite possibly the most beautiful car in the country and once it gets the drift games touch it will be one of the nicest examples in the world without a shadow of a doubt. Health to enjoy Dave PS keep them other 2 clampits as far away from it as possible 😉👏
im new here and this is my first video im watching, the camera shots and the sound of the car and the design is awesome!! also just wanted to say that its a 280z as the mirrors are on the side and not on the fenders
I have a friend here in Texas with an LS3 T56 280Z build that I adore. My 240Z is near perfect but only an L24 with 4 speed. I dream of a stroker 3.1 and 5 speed because I want to remain more purely Z car. A small block Chevy is my favorite engine I must admit and have a strong one in my 1966 Chevy Nova with a T56. You have a very sweet Z there. Be nice to it.
You lucky lucky b4st4rd….. I know luck has nothing to do with it but that is stunning. All I have right now for a Sunday blast is a broken 22 year old Audi TT 😭
Love the way it is but if the kahoona's are big I'm guessing debumper, black arch extension and black fender rear view mirrors on a grey body oh and duckrail spoiler 🤔
such a beautiful car, I almost got one, a blue 240z LHD was for sale in Poland, but I was to late, car is so rare its almost impossible to got one, all the best with that beauty, I cant wait to see it on some car event
It looks great, but taking out the legendary, buttery smooth 2.4L inline 6 for yet another LS-Swap is absolutely cursed and blasphemous lol. To answer the question - ruined to a degree; I get wanting more power, but you can just drop in a more modern in-house engine instead of an engine that just feels... wrong. Then again, I hate the very concept of engine swaps in general. That being said, I am very, VERY happy you didn't stance, lower and widebody it to hell and back. The 240z is the most beautiful JDM car ever, so seeing idiots ruin them by fucking up their shape is a crime.
Yeap... Raises hand. I'm that guy. You are gonna screw up the styling. The most bad ass 240s are the ones that look most original. At most some bigger rubber and slight fender flares. To each their own though.
Let us know what you think of the new motor guys?!
Dude you have great taste..I luv it
Called it.....seen this car come up for sale and fell in love with it, I hope you enjoy it man, so jealous.
When are you guys going to buy a 300ZX like Jimmy oaks
Just gotta love an s30z! 🤩 I'm expecting it to look a lot more like Forsberg's "Gold Leader" in a few weaks time, knowing the style of cars you go for!
I love it 😍
Nice car, enjoy it, I had 2 back in the days, one of them with a 383 stroker + NOS, back in 94 that was a monster, I miss that car 😔
Goodness GRACIOUS 😍 from the car to Josh’s cinematography, what an incredible episode!!
it looks phenomenal, personally i wouldnt change it too much besides the chrome really, but you lads always make something savage so i think ill love whatever it turns out to be.
BEAUTIFULLY DONE!
just dont wide body it please
Japan: Wangan Midnight
Ireland: M1 Midnight

God Damn Josh! that edit of the car was fire!

Dope Z. My first was orange. Can’t wait to see more of this beast.
Love classic Zs!! Have since I was a kid…I have an idea on your path. Motorsport look…takes the car to 11. I wish I could get my hands on one myself…one day!! Congratulations on your new addition!
OH MAN! This is one car I’ve always wanted to build! Honestly I love ol 327/350s GREAT BUY BROTHER!!!
As soon as I saw that gauge cluster I knew it was a 240z. That's been my dream car since I saw one as a kid, I can't wait to see what you do with this beauty.
Did you buy one already?
every time Dave reveals he has a new car 🔥🔥🔥 absolutely class motor and can't wait to see what you do to it .
Gorgeous! I just hope you move the mirrors to the fenders, it changes the character so much!
Literally a dream car for me, glad you guys picked it up!
To start off id Remove the bumpers , remove the chrome trim , new wheels , coilovers , give it power steering .
Respray black or a wrap in black , rota tbt in bronze 🤤
The whole intro I thought I'd guessed it,
I'm there like "go on then show me the 65 mustang" I did not expect a Z whatsoever, it's beautiful 😍
We tried to be sneaky and the V8 would throw you off 😂
@@driftgames_life ya got me 😂 best of both worlds there! It's sick
His trousers match the car, always coordinating 😂mint yoke and is crying out for the drift games touch, health to enjoy Dave
Coolest car yet Dave ! Don’t go mad with the changes
She’s a beauty, flawless editing of the video. Fair play
Stunning, an all time dream car. Can't wait to see what you do with it, I'm sure it'll be a bit more special than the usual bolt on arches you see on them.
Love the car 👌bring out the molded Fender flares🔥🔥 Cant wait to see the change
class car fair play, this definitely cant be sold for the wedding 🤣
Easily my favourite car on the channel! I’m all for the old stuff! This is dream car material for me.. go easy on it 😂
Fair play guys I've been watching you for some time now and every episode gets better, the video's are edited so smoothly 🤙
Perfect! Absolutely love this 😎 Health to drive Dave 🤙🏻
I think you made the right decision. The 240Z is a lovely car. I take its with Tripple 8 Customs already. Can't wait to see the transformation, they look so good wide bodied 😃
Probably one of the most beautiful cars ever made.Well wear Dave
Fair play Dave, living the dream, great to enjoy it with ye
Great looking motor. Building a 77 280z myself and hope to be on the road next summer. 👍
Nice man!
Nice buy and look forward to seeing your changes. 👍💯
Awesome car! I 3d modeled one of these years ago for a uni project :D
Just needs a retro BRE livery!
that is so F'in cool. absolutely love these, especially with a wide arch kit and ducktail ❤
At 2:22 I already know what car by the silver mirror and the A Piller and window shape, finally got an original Z great choice of car looking forward to see how it ends up 👌
You rarely get it wrong so in drift games I trust, that you won't ruin an already beautiful car and you'll make it into a head turner.
From one American build, onto the other. Good switchup.
That's in my top 3 cars of all time that I want to own and will prob move to number 1 once its finished 👌 savage!!

Beautiful car dave, I have a sneaky feeling it's going to be wide body with deep dish wheels next time we see it
I absolutely luv this car,I would leave it as stock..I luv American muscle cars
In the USA. These are everywhere. And Are selling for nothing basically.
Hello from the States. Agree with decision. While the RTR Mustang is awesome, there a far fewer 240Z these days. Wise investment.
Amazing car really looking forward to seeing it with daves touches..
I know of Wastson Racing great job getting a fine example of a beautiful classic 👌 🤙👌💯
Congrads Dave, drive the wheel’s of that thing
Absolutely love it and can’t wait to see what you have planned for it 👍🏻
It is a modern or up-dated Scarab spec.
Back in the day, you could buy a Scarab speced Datsun 240z from your Datsun dealer.
I bet it's getting a rocket bunny pandem kit that would be class like Sung Kang's Fuguz.
Love it, can't wait to see what you guys do.
Excited to see the reveal!!!
What a car, best of luck with it Dave👌💪
My dream car. If I get my hands on 9ne I would never sell it.
What a legend I absolutely love this car 😍😍 you sir are winning at life congratulations
would look unreal in Midnight Purple
Ho Lee Fook….. this is quite possibly the most beautiful car in the country and once it gets the drift games touch it will be one of the nicest examples in the world without a shadow of a doubt. Health to enjoy Dave

It’s a 71, so a 240sx, and only the JDM ones had fender mirrors right? Not the US cars?
What a car, congratulations Dave!!
Damn, here's me waiting for Dave to kickflip over it smh haha
I got it right in the last video when you said about the new car 👌👌
My expectations for this are off the chart.... and i know you will blow them out of the water!! Unreal purchase

Sounds great!
Love the car. Please don't chop the arches, it's been done so many times now.
It really is THE perfect JDM drift car
Goddamn it Dave, what a collection!
Can’t wait to see it. Heath to modify and drive
I like the stance on it.
Amazing looking car congratulations and enjoy
Love it 👌 another cool purchase
Stunning car mate
Put a 2JZ in it?? 😎
You lucky lucky b4st4rd….. I know luck has nothing to do with it but that is stunning. All I have right now for a Sunday blast is a broken 22 year old Audi TT 😭

Now that's how you start a video
Will ye be at the summer drift bash ?
Wow lads that Is beautiful 🔥
I love this car. I am curious what something like this is valued at in America. Most that I have found are not as well done. Cheers
How long before you guys do the gumball rally? Watching you guys doing this would be incredible!
We would love to!
@@driftgames_life Gumball or yer own rally around Europe!
Can't wait to see this 😍😍
Very nice Dave I love a 240
Love it I understand what ur saying make it more mean looking defo but I'd keep it same colour love that colour
Rocketbunny / Pandem bodykit!!!!!
You should do a build diary then upload the build video after the reveal
That’s the plan 😊
such a beautiful car, I almost got one, a blue 240z LHD was for sale in Poland, but I was to late, car is so rare its almost impossible to got one, all the best with that beauty, I cant wait to see it on some car event
When are you guys going to get a 300zx?
I hate that orange colour on the 240z's lol would look great in white

Dave clearly hasn't seen the petrol prices!!! 😂😂🤙
I’m a moron 😂- Dave
I have one considerably large bulge in my trousers now😂 Did the one at water car club give you ideas? Real pity about the reg at 1200XX
beautiful car
I love them but it's left-hand drive NOOOOOOO!
