I am a widow, and have a hard time cooking for one. (It just seems like too much trouble) So I seek out wonderful, quick, easy recipes, so that I can eat a real meal, instead of a can of soup. This fits the bill, and I'm sure I could cut it in half easily. Thank you for yet another great idea.
I agree that's it's so hard to cook for one person. This is really good reheated. If you're alright with eating leftovers, you can just reheat in the microwave for a few seconds. My philosophy is "Cook once, eat twice". Melissa and I had two meals from this so if you cut the recipe in half you should still get two servings. I hope some of our recipes can provide you with good, homecooked, delicious meals. Happy New Year.
Would be nice if it could go into a retail store and buy it some people don't have the means to shop online to buy books and other stuff videos offer @@tomwyant9297
This looks delicious, Tom! And you mentioned empty nesters. I remember when our sons all grew up and left our home for college and then for good when they married. We missed our kids too. More than I thought I would. More recently my husband died of brain cancer so now my house is silent at times. I really long for the days when my household was busy with life going on. I really appreciate recipes like this bc it’s easy and looks so good. I don’t like complicated food just for me. God bless y’all!
Perfect timing! I am going to use the frozen Lobster Ravioli I have on hand. It’s deep winter here in Vermont, so hot pasta is a fav. PS Tom- you remind me of my late Dad…so comforting to watch you and Melissa.
I also have some lobster ravioli. I bought it at Costco the other day. I saw this recipe and knew I have to give it a try with the lobster ravioli! I wonder if it would taste good if I put a little extra garlic in there. I love garlic. ~Sharon from Florida
From one retired teacher to another, I love your exact verbal directions and your posting of the written recipes! Love your channel! And my husband was from West Virginia and I love hearing that West Virginia accent!
After living in KY for 52 years you would think my West Virginia accent would have disappeared. It hasn't! I've decided it's in my DNA and will be there forever. LOL!
Made this for dinner tonight. It was a winner! I didn't have just Basil, so used my Italian Seasoning and it worked great! Thank you for sharing this recipe!
love to watch you cook. i miss my husband because he started cooking and i didn't do a thing but clean his mess. it was so wonderful when he cooked. you are so clean and neat.
made this tonight, had a salad with some hot bread and it was delicious.....Gonna try the Russian chicken recipe this week.....by the way, found the Russian dressing at Walmart...bought 2....
Just made this for a neighborhood gathering. It got fantastic reviews! 👒 Hat's off to you 🎉! I'm home writing down the recipe, for myself, and for a Friend! Oh😊 & subscribing to your marvelous channel! Thanks again!❤
A little bit of the pasta water helps to thicken your sauce and make it a little richer. I promise it wwont water it down it only makes it better. My family is very italian and my grandmother would tell you dont throw that water down the drain until you thicken your sauce. Mind you it is just a small amount of the water. Try this with your spaghetti also. The salt water makes it taste wonderful.😊
You two have managed to put on yet another mouth-watering show! 🇺🇸 👍☕After adding the tortellini to the sauce, I like to put a lid on it and allow it to rest for 15 minutes, or longer.
About a month accidentally came across your cooking videos. Love them. Have been watching you every time you’re on. Am definitely going to make this dish. Thank you for sharing. You do a good job preparing the food and your wife is excellent on the camera.
This has got to be delicious. I think I’d like to have shrimp with mine.. a side salad and crusty bread. Okay, I’m hungry now. I’ll add these ingredients to my grocery list. Thank you Tom and Melissa.. I hope 2024 is the best year yet. Looking forward to some changes this year. God bless you both. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
A trick I found for avoiding corn starch lumps in your gravy or liquid without whisking is to put your corn starch in the measuring cup first then add a little liquid and make a slurry then add the rest of your liquid
Just the two of us now, we do this sometimes and you reminded me.. Its delicious. Its also adaptable, a pinch of chilli flakes and/or grated cheese and/or some canned tuna (we prefer the one in veg oil and drain off about half the oil but if there's lostsa yummy butter you could fully drain) Thank you sooo much for these recipes! I have problems getting Ranch mix here in UK though. Bless you both.
For the sauce: butter, fresh chopped garlic, fresh parsley chopped, a little white wine and salt, simmer and reduce, pour over Tortellini and mix, top off with Parmigiana, voila!
I made this tonight for dinner. My family loved it. I added bacon & mushrooms to it and it was wonderful; I also doubled the recipe. Have a great weekend
Well, here I am again!! I just LOVE adding your recipes to my repertoire!! I am the social chairman of my local PEO chapter. We have just scheduled a Mama Mia Italian evening with our husbands for October! It will be so fun to take this recipe and the Baked Ravioli Casserole as my contribution!! Something so different than the “regular” Italian. Recipes!!
I appreciate the way you state the ingredients & amounts prior to cooking. It makes following you so easy. Many people don’t do this and it can be frustrating. Thanks again!!
Not a good idea to be watching these videos while hungry 😄 Thank you guys for sharing this recipe! Looks delicious and I bet my wife will love this! Happy New Year!!
I’ve never known how to cook tortellini. Thank you. Now, I’m thinking about how to stretch it either meatballs or chicken meatballs mixed in. Great to see you.
Hello from Washington state. Thank you so much for your videos I LOVE them and you and you wife are great! Your videos are down to earth and easy to understand 😊
I've got to quit watching your dinner videos when I get home from work! Always makes me want to run out and get whatever I may not have and make it! Looks delicious! By the way...made your cabbage on New Year's Day along with some Hoppin Jon and it was a hit! My Son took some to work for lunch the next day and my other son was eating it when I got home! Keep up the good work!
Grew up in Clarksburg, WV. Home of the Italian Heritage Festival. Being an Irish family member I had never seen these made fresh. My friends Nonnies made these so quickly, they just piled up on the counters. So delish.
Looks so good! Thanks for sharing! The chicken stock thickened with corn starch was unexpected but is such a great idea! Much better than just butter and garlic! ❤
I make this and add some fresh spinach to the dish. I do love tortellini. Delicious! I make ghee and let it 'burn' just a little. It gives it a nutty flavor.
Well you have done it again Tom!! Another fabulous recipe!! I can't wait to make it! Thanks for recipes and tips. Hope y'all had a wonderful New Years. I look forward to all the future has to offer with y'all. You both are at the top of my list. Oh yes, we enjoyed several of your recipes for the holidays they we great!! God bless y'all 🤗🥰😇🙏🙏🙏

Ohhh one of my favorite meals!! Love cheese tortellini and garlic sauce and parm!! Thanks for sharing your recipe for it!! God bless and happy New Year!!
Use all heavy cream & don't use the corn starch....or just use some Cream Cheese .....anything is better than cornstarch....can even use Chia seeds.....it is a thickening also and I don't find it has a taste.....I use it in oatmeal or anything else I need to thicken ....as I hate cornstarch....

I agree. After watching these shows for a few months, I've found many recipes that fit an Independent Living lifestyle.
I agree with you on the quick and easy home-cooked meals. Tom and Melissa are wonderful people.
Tortellini is one of my faves. It will be filling as well as a good leftover!😊😊
