    Love this incorporation of running gear with casual fits, when I ran track in Highschool the nike flyknit free run line just came out and I wore those 24/7. I still wear them to this day

    You answered my exact question, I wanted to try the Hoka because minimalist shoes were not working and Nike/ adidas don't have enough support. I couldn't find the bondi in my size but i'l try the clifton since its on their store. I also liked the style ideas in the end, you earned yourself a subscriber :)

    Your thumbnail says "don't buy the bondi and clifton 7"
    And the only reason is the 6 is cheaper?

    i have the hoka bondi x engineered garments in black an they work great with the whole relaxed japanese aesthetic with brands like yohji, cdg and uniqlo for example. really like the minimalist look on this collaboration, with almost no branding :)

    So sorry. You’re wrong. I LOVED the Bondi 5 I had 3 Pairs. Baught the Bondi 6. HORRIBLE UPPER. Lost its shape after a couple months. NOW I purchased the BONDI 7 and WOW!!! The upper is so much better, more structure without and rubbing. The rear padding is significantly thicker with memory foam. I highly recomend you try the Bondi 7. The rubber sole is the same. A much better uprage from the 6. Sorry.

    Got a pair of Bondi 6 for around 100 Euro here in Germany. I don't think they will get any cheaper. Hoka is like Apple or Nintendo. They don't get very cheap and are quite limited. I remember how often the first Rincons were sold out even on the Hoka website. Crazy. Anyway, I needed a new long/ezpz running shoe. Great video, new sub and greetings from Munich to Munich? :)

    Get the Bondi 7 new color turbulence/chili. Looks great! Besides being great for running or judt being on your feet all day, they will look really good with blue jeans too. Check them out. They don't look so dadsish. I think they're really cool. Can't wait until mine arrive.

      @@DavidMoseer Wow, I found your channel while looking at videos about Hokas. Afterward I click on another video of yours where you were talking about CCP and showed your CCP jacket and some of his shoes and boots. Those Derby shoes made me hard! so to speak. Man, I love them. But I looked them up and saw the price and wilted. I'll have to wait and hope to find a three hundred year old pair of leather shoes in a barn loft in somewhere like Salem, Massachusetts instead. Loved them. And the boots etc. I'm kinda obsessed with those shoes now! The roll over ones too. I didnt know this asthetic would be appreciated by so many people that a thriving business could be made. I'm glad to learn some of my fellow humans have heart and can see the beauty there. Love them. I'll look at more of your videos here. Ive already learned a lot from you. Are you a designer? Artist?
      I'm American living in the south. But some years back lived for six years near you in Central Europe. Man, I have a feeling I'll be learning lots from you. Glad to discover you.
      I also noticed that most of those shoes are small sizes. But you look like you have good sized feet too. They're a pleasure to just to look at anyway.

    I have the Bondi 7s and Mach 4s and love them both. If I had to choose one shoe it would hands down be the Bondi 7. I have 350 miles on them right now and they still feel amazing!

  • @Thankful_n_Grateful
    @Thankful_n_Grateful 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Agree don't have to buy 7s of either Bondi or Clifton if thinking of getting 1st pair and can get deep discounts...
    Ex:
    $160 Bondi 7
    $120 Bondi 6
    For road only & less technical I'd suggest trying new Stinson ATR 6 as it's insanely comfortable, plush, pillowy & stable...
    Stinson 6
    Better than walking on clouds or pillows after I replaced original insoles with max cushion, custom fit & formed insoles for each foot...
    Stinson 6 is already very plush, soft, cushy, but not squishy, mushy, etc...
    Fit like glove...
    Fit like wet suit...
    I have Bondi 6 & Just Got Stinson ATR 6...
    Stinson 6
    They are good enough for someone on budget, which I'm not, to get and i feel can be used instead of Bondi's or Clifton's...
    Stinson 6 is nothing like stinson 5 in fit or feel...
    On gravel path you showed in video.
    Try Stinson 6, see how it fits, feel, works on paths you run...
    And if you happen to have road runner sports shop around get some max custom insoles...
    You can order shoes from hoka & try out for 60 days during Pandemic & get full refund if you don't like so there's no risk...
    But i think you'll like it...
    I try buy all black uppers & midsoles so i can wear them with other clothes...
    If one is very confident & comfortable with themselves you don't have to worry about styles so much or what's current trend...
    If you like something, ware it & you can possibly be next trend setter...
    There's talk about parents shoes...
    There's talk about barefoot or minimalist
    There's talk about maximum cushion & looking geriatric...
    It's all a matter of personal preference...
    Wearing shoes for style only is different than wearing for comfort & performance...
    Some of fastest long distances, ultraarathons ( 26+ miles / 42+ km ) races on road or trail have been won by those wearing Hokas...
    When Carbon X first came out Hoka had some of the best long distance runners from all over the world run one road race of 100km / ~62 miles in Sacramento CA, USA...
    And goal was to see who could get Fastest Know Times ever recorded for following distances:
    50 km / ~31 miles & 100km / ~62 miles...
    Race was recorded & shared live...
    Jim Walmsley set 50 mile World Record ( faster than any other human at that time ) in newly released Carbon X that were regular production shoes anyone could by...
    I brought pair at i think was $200 at time and loved everything about shoe...
    Super Light...
    Super Great Awesome Fit...
    Color, Etc...
    But shoe just didn't feel right for me so i returned them...
    I've got pair of Clifton Edge's and some people say they look like clown shoes because of the exaggerated extension of the heel...
    And they say they would never wear shoes like that in public...
    But i looked at all available youtube videos & reviews at time they first came out & were first released & decided to get a pair to improve downhill speeds based on girl's TH-cam review named Mary Beth...
    And I'm so glad I did as the Clifton Edge's are simply Amazing...
    I won't go into details...
    But i flew down the hills in complete abandon ( though i was still consciously in control ) with complete confidence & faith in way shoe made me feel...
    My point is...
    You have to experiment to find what's right for you & your needs whatever they are...
    Don't let anyone make up your mind for you...
    Try shoes out for yourself...
    And there are many retail & online shoe stores that have 30, 60 & 90 day return policies, customer satisfaction 100% guaranteed, full refund...
    So you've got nothing to lose except finding the perfect shoe for you...
    To start out, if you're not sure of your size, go to local retailer that carries shoe, style, type / function you're interested in...
    Don't worry about color initially...
    Try determine if your pronation is:
    Neutral :
    Foot Doesn't Roll Excessively inward nor outward...
    OverPronation
    Foot rolls excessively inward
    Supination:
    Foot rolls outward when landing
    Then look for shoes that meet your needs...
    Better local retail running shoe shops will have highly specialized equipment to measure your feet & tell you practically everything you need to know to select best type of shoe for your feet whether it's: Road, Trail, Track shoe...
    Just try lots of similar shoes from several brands & manufacturers....
    Once you find shoe that fits you really well & it's designed for what you plan to use it for, see if they have color you like in stock, if not check online to see if they have color you like...
    Online inventory /selection for same local retailer online is usually a lot larger than than any retail store...
    Once you've found what you like compare prices with other retail & online stores...
    Prices can vary substantially between stores & even when joining a membership for a given store...
    Once you've find correct size, great fit, comfortable, correct room in all the right places ( toes especially ), etc...
    You've found good or best price...
    They have great return policy ( try it minimum 30 days , but I would go with 60 or 90 days to have more time to.try & not be rushed )...
    Order it or buy locally...
    If it doesn't fit good when you try it on at home, then there's no need testing it outside & getting it dirty. Return it and get larger, smaller, wider, narrower; depending on what you need...
    If fit is good, try walking around in house ( on carpet, tile )...
    If passes above two test then & only then try it outside...
    Really test shoe at first on flat, ground...
    If that's good, test in environments you plan to use shoe in...
    Try it for as many days necessary to determine shoe is right for you...
    Don't abuse return policy by wearing shoe for whole duration of return policy and shoe felt good but you want to return it so you can get different shoe...
    Be fair & honest...
    Best of Success & Enjoyment...
    May You Find Perfect Shoe for You...
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I used to be Exclusively Nike & Nothing but Nike...
    Then Brooks & Nothing but Brooks...
    Then Combo between New Balance & Hoka...
    First time I tried Hokas I Hated Them. Didn't Like Rocking Chair Effect / Feeling they call Meta-Rocker...
    The Meta-Rocker / Rocking Chair Effect was extremely exaggerated in Clifton 5...
    What brought me back to Hoka 8 to 10 months later was need for cushion on long steep uneven, non-paved, bumpy, downhill trails...
    Once i tried Stinson 5, Then Challenger 5, Then EVO Mafate, Then Bondi 6, Then Clifton 6, Then Clifton Edge, Then Rincon 1 & 2, I was Hooked & Then Got Stinson 6, Bondi 7, Clifton 7...
    Again...
    I fell in love with plush, comfy cushion, not squishy nor mushy, good room in toe box for toes to freely wiggle, no slippage in heel, fits comfortable & stable...
    Practically all of Hokas I own have basically straight, rectangular, non-curvy outsole...
    I'm not into racing or competition on tracks or any dashes ( 40, 50, 60, 100 yrds ) nor 200, 400, 5Ks, 10Ks, etc...
    I Love Outdoors...
    I Do Long & Short Distance
    I Do Road & Trails
    I Do Flat, Rolling & Steep Terrain
    Paved, Gravel, Rocky, Roots, Deep Pocket...
    I Compete Against Myself With All sorts of Apps, Heart Rate Monitors & Garmin 1030 Cycle computer to record temperatures, heart rates, grade, altitude, cadence / pace speed, distsnce...
    min, avg, max, current of all the above
    Start Time
    Stop Time
    Paused Time
    Moving Time
    Etc...
    Bottom Line...
    If you're not enjoying yourself & having fun in the end...
    • @bxckdoor9113
      @bxckdoor9113 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1
      Side note: Looking at your running, maybe its just because you took a video of it but it seems as if you're more often landing on your foot flat and on your heel. Occasionally you land on your forefoot, you probably know this but if you dont make sure you always run on your fore foot first, greatly improves literally everything.
      You could definitely wear Bondi’s. They are super comfy. No rubbing or breaking in. Pure comfort!! They are just bulky. Other than that perfect.
    • @jessa.3857
      @jessa.3857 2 ปีที่แล้ว
      @@allyboo65 yes, I found them too bulky as well. They felt too 'clunky' to me when I walked and did most of my training. I suppose the thickness of the sole is the culprit. They were comfortable otherwise. I swapped them out for the Clifton 8s which are much better! Only problem I ran into with the Cliftons is that they may be too narrow for my feet as it aggravates my Hallux Rigidus on my right foot. Should've gotten the wide version.
      @@Andre-yj8dd Bondi MUCH heavier and clunky. They will last longer than the Clifton. What is surprising is with all that stack they are not soft, just lots of stack. They are OK for slow long runs where you are just grinding it out. The Clifton's give you a much better ride, softer but also springy for a little speed (but still not fast). They are a better everyday trainer and I have also taken them on runs well over 20km with no problems. Both are good but if I could only have one I would go for the Clifton. But each to their own.
      Among the lines, Rincon has the least durability. Mines are Bondi 5 and Clifton 6, are still good after 4 years
    Very comfortable, started using black pair of my Clifton at work where walk a lot and casually, they are great! But have you or anyone noticed a "bottom out" affect when running faster with Clifton? My Nike Air React seem springy even when running faster or jump on shoe, Clifton seems to be very nicely cushioned but heel seems firm and has shock if jump on rear or run fast compared to my Nike Air Max React. Very comfortable and stable shoe love the Clifton, got them to help my Shin Split. Drop is great for my foot believe its 4 or 5mm. Doesn't instigate shin.
    Finally, do others notice they are narrow? Front of my foot seems to sit over side edge of foot bed a bit. I have regular width feet, doesnt happen in my Nikes or Asics.
    which would be best for shin splints? clifton or bondi
    • @DavidMoseer
      @DavidMoseer  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2
      I would probably consult a doctor or specialist for that. I would say the bondi is better though as it is more forgiving than the clifton..
      For technical trails...
      For less technical new Stinson ATR 6 is insanely comfortable, plush, pillowy & stable...
      Stinson 6
      Better than walking on clouds or pillows after I replaced original insoles with max cushion, custom fit & formed insoles for each foot...
      Stinson 6 is already very plush, soft, cushy, but not squishy, mushy, etc...
      Fit like glove...
      Fit like wet suit...
      I have Bondi 6 & Just Got Stinson ATR 6...
      They are good enough for someone on budget, which I'm not, to get and i feel can be used instead of Bondi's or Clifton's...
      Stinson 6 is nothing like stinson 5 in fit or feel...
      On gravel path you showed in video...
      Speedgoat would be over kill...
      Try Stinson 6, see how it fits, feel, works on paths you run...
      And if you happen to have road runner sports shop around get some max custom insoles...
      You can order shoes from hoka & try out for 60 days during Pandemic & get full refund if you don't like so there's no risk...
      But i think you'll like it...
      I try buy all black uppers & midsoles so i can wear them with other clothes...
      If one is very confident & comfortable with themselves you don't have to worry about styles so much or what's current trend...
      If you like something where it & you can possibly next trend setter...
      There's talk about parents shoes...
      There's talk about barefoot or minimalist
      There's talk about maximum cushion & looking geriatric...
      It's all a matter of personal preference...
      Wesring shoes for style only is different than wearing for comfort & performance...
      Some of fastest long distances, ultraarathons ( 26+ miles / 42+ km ) races on road or trail have been one by those wearing Hokas...
      When Carbon X first came out Hoka had some of the best long distance runners from all over the world run one road race of 100km / ~62 miles in Sacramento CA, USA...
      And goal was to see who could get Fastest Know Times ever recorded for following distances:
      50 km / ~31 miles & 100km / ~62 miles...
      Race was recorded & shared live...
      Jim Walmsley set 50 mile World Record ( faster than any other human at that time ) in newly released Carbon X that were regular production shoes anyone could by...
      I brought pair at i think was $200 at time and loved everything about shoe...
      Super Light...
      Super Great Awesome Fit...
      Color, Etc...
      But shoe just didn't feel right for me so i returned them...
      I've got pair of Clifton Clifton Edge's and some people say they look like clown shows because of the exaggerated extension of the heel...
      And they say they would never wear shoe like that in public...
      But i looked at all available youtube videos & reviews at time they first came they were first released & decided to get a pair to improve downhill speed based on girl's TH-cam review named
