This is the best Mary post-Supremes 1970s live performance I’ve seen and heard featuring her. She holds her own charismatically in lead position, and her and the other ladies’ choreography and vocals are nicely understated and controlled. And then there’s always upbeat and glam Cindy there to help out and to flash that gleaming smile like only she can! 😍

This was wonderful to see. Mary did an excellent job leading the Supremes for this performance. Her confidence and voice was 100%.

Wow. Mary really carried this performance. Sounds amazing! Cindy and Debbie too. The arrangements were nice. Outstanding band. I can't imagine what it must have cost for the entire entourage to travel to Chile. All 3 sound great. Mary really could have done well if only she had been given good material.

Wow! They were fantastic! Cindy always came through for Mary, even though Mary didn’t stand up for her against Pedro.

Mary had really come into her own to lead the group and carry on her obligations. Fun to see Cindy back and newer member Debbie Sharpe. You ladies did it.

Did what? Make a mess of Diana's lead.

@@cravendubose3024 Maybe, but Diana Ross could never do what these three women did with "You're My Driving Wheel".

This is one of the best of the mary wilson performances. That being said, I am still disappointed that Mary never really took the time to develop her own strengths. Her voice was so well suited to ballads or even jazz, but for whatever reason, she was never able to move on and create a solo identity for herself. And she remained stuck in the Supremes mentality which meant that she continued to lean on the fact that she was a Supreme, and never developed a personna away from that. I can understand the nostalgia, but these songs were not created for her voice. In my mind, it's kind of analogous to the idea that Liza Minnelli might have spent her career singing Judy Garland songs instead of getting her own. Hmmm

I think Mary just needed the right material. She didn't have someone like Gordy guiding her career.

That is Debbie Sharpe. The performances were to fulfill a contractual obligation after their group with Scherrie and Susaye dissolved. So yes , I believe it is 1977.

I love how they slowed down the tempo compared to the original lp version. It's more R&B now than Disco.

That 60s Medley is so tight they never changed it thoughout the entire 70s. It's ALMOST the same one they were using at the end of the 60s. That medley is TIGHT!!!

Debbie Sharp was definitely Supreme status. Wish she had got a legitimate run with the group. She fit.

La unica supreme original en ese año era MARY WILSON.

Have never seen this lineup...if in 1977, must have been close to the dissolution of the group. I can identify Cindy Birdsong on the left and of course, Mary in the center, but I do not know who is on the right. I was under the impression that it was Mary, Scherrie, and Susaye at the end. Anybody know who the third girl is?

Technically, this isn't "The Supremes" proper. Mary Wilson had left The Supremes to go solo, but several South American tour dates had not been cancelled. Scherrie and Susaye were working with Motown to get their new Supremes off the ground, and were also not interested in working with Mary's then-husband/manager again. Mary Wilson did the South American tour as "Mary Wilson of The Supremes" with Cindy Birdsong and Deborah Sharpe (the third woman) on background.

after the Supremes disbanded in 1977,Mary discovered there were outstanding contracts that had to be honored so she recruited Cindy and another girl to fulfill the obligations

Debbie Sharpe is the third singer . This was the tour that Motown didn’t stop and Mary had to rush put this together so she wasn’t gonna get sued

The Supremes had their final concert (“Farewell 2.0”) in London, England, in June 1977... shortly after that, Mary’s husband/manager advised her that “The Supremes” were still committed to a series of appearances in South America...and Mary, the owner of Supremes, Inc., that had made the booking would be sued if they just didn’t appear. Mary asked Scherrie Payne and Susaye Greene to join her, but they supposedly told her they weren’t interested. In desperation, Mary called in old buddy Cindy Birdsong (gone from the group since early 1976 and replaced by Susaye) to help her out and they found performer Debbie Sharpe. They taught her the harmonies and choreography on the long plane ride to SA and... here we have a “non-official” version of The Supremes. Once this tour was over, Cindy and Debbie left Mary’s employ and Miss Wilson started to work on her solo career.
