I think there are a lot more problems than human pleonexia to worry about. We have to end apartheid for one. And slow down the nuclear arms race, stop terrorism and world hunger. We have to provide food and shelter for the homeless, and oppose racial discrimination and promote civil rights, while also promoting equal rights for women. We have to encourage a return to traditional moral values. Most importantly, we have to promote general social concern and less materialism in young people.
Dorsia must have been lit. Like the more times I see this movie, the less I care about what's actually going on and the more I want to see what Dorsia is like. Paul Allen had the whole room shook up when they found out that he scored a reservation on Friday. Just name dropping the place will get a bitch up out of bed.

Dorsia and the reactions it evokes from each of the characters is symbolic of the corrupt society depicted in the book that value prestige over everything. (Lul literature)
When i go to a restaurant, of it has a waiting line, i imediatly go another, eat well, and come back to laugh at the stupid NPC's that still are waiting for a fucking table.
Wesley Hines exactly what i was thinking to a think a big part of the reason for why Patrick is so angry and hateful is because he can never get a table for Dorsia and all his friends can. 😂
So he got shot down for Dorsia, took her to another restaurant and lied about it, then lied again during the business card scene about going there? I'm assuming that's why he got so bent out of shape over Allen's reservation, because he himself couldn't get one? Makes a lot more sense now.
The Nightmare Well yes, that was the whole point. Throughout the movie ‘Dorsia’ represents some kind of pointless social elite that Bateman covets from others

Dorsia is the “Holy Grail”, it’s what we’re all reaching for despite our financial situation, rich or poor, we’re all reaching for something ‘more’ that just always seems to be out of our reach….In my opinion, I think the point of dorsia is to say, we already have what we need! We don’t need something that will only give us ‘status’ to outside circles, enjoy our inner circles of friends and family! On your death bed, you won’t think of the wealth you’ve accumulated, instead you’ll think of those you love!
thank you so much for this purely and uniquely positive comment! you’re so right. this made my night 💜
But their sea urchin ceviche…
Only losers think this who've never been in Dorsia.
That’s the whole point. It’s one of those places people just go to to say they’ve been there. All image.
Nobody goes there anymore.
😂😂😂
@@ninoextendo9680 but they have great sea urchin ceviche tf you mean ??
Dorsia sounds like the littest place on NY to have a hard time getting a reservation

Production team: “we would like to film a portion of our movie in your restaurant”
Dorsia staff: “we’re sorry gents. We’re totally booked.”
Production team: “really? That’s great!”
Dorsia staff: “no, I said we’re totally booked”
Production team: “two at nine. Perfect! See ya then!”
This is one of the most quotable movies I've ever watched
"dorsia is nice"... - women...
Whaaats the difference! hehehe
ᅚᅚᅚmet one gave you birth and the other one is the opposite sex. Just kidding.
Barryfps nice
There are no girls with good personalities
if she breath she a thot its science
Dorsia and the reactions it evokes from each of the characters is symbolic of the corrupt society depicted in the book that value prestige over everything. (Lul literature)
No shit.
@@TheAwesome45 nobody comments here anymore
When i go to a restaurant, of it has a waiting line, i imediatly go another, eat well, and come back to laugh at the stupid NPC's that still are waiting for a fucking table.
Lmao imagine in real life if you called for a res and they just started laughing
- You didn’t give your name?
- Oh they know me here I own the restaurant.
I love the absolute confidence with which he says “yes dear”, cracks me up every time
Dorsia is the true villain of this film.
Wesley Hines exactly what i was thinking to a think a big part of the reason for why Patrick is so angry and hateful is because he can never get a table for Dorsia and all his friends can. 😂
Paul Allen made 3 accounts for this video.
or 57
So he got shot down for Dorsia, took her to another restaurant and lied about it, then lied again during the business card scene about going there? I'm assuming that's why he got so bent out of shape over Allen's reservation, because he himself couldn't get one? Makes a lot more sense now.
The Nightmare Well yes, that was the whole point. Throughout the movie ‘Dorsia’ represents some kind of pointless social elite that Bateman covets from others
Unless Paul was also lying
Mind blown!
No. It was the watermark.
The Nightmare
Yeah duh
So, this is Dorsia? Looks an awful lot like arby's
You don't pick Dorsia. Dorsia picks you.
That laugh response to the reservation request. must have devastated him.
Hey Paul!
"AAAAHHHH"
It's hip to be square!
Patrick was really the bullied victim in this movie.
Pretty sure his secretary heard the other side of the conversation. She keeps giving him ways to cancel and still save face, but he refuses.
No can do..i got a 8.30 res at Dorsia...one of my all time best Bale movies....Bateman...what a well rounded nice guy...loves his women...likes nice things and great music
The shake in his voice at the end was perfect
Obviously this movie is like 25 years old but hear me out....imagine you don't know what this movie is and you're watching this clip for some reason and then 1:27 comes on and completely catches you off guard
Alex Harvey 18
That's pretty much what happened to me...
I'd immediately watch the movie
We live in a society...
Where getting a table at Dorsia's is a distant memory.
Isn't that right... Bateman?!
Bateman's little laugh and toothpick flick is underappreciated. It's so perfect.
The book has so much more demented twisted imagery it’s fantastic. Love the movie too.
LOL It's funny how it sounds like the guy on the other end of the phone is having a psychotic break.
James Van Der Beek is awesome as Sean Bateman, Patrick's brother in Rules of Attraction. Not sure if its a prequel exactly, but his scene with Patrick got cut. Shows you how really important the actor is in movies like this.
Guy from Starship Troopers not near as good as Bale or Van Der Beek, but the cut scene is on youtube.
In the book he actually goes to Dorsia and there's some descriptions of what and who is inside. But I like how in the movie you never actually see it. Sort of represents how he never really attains the image of perfection that he longs for.
"We should've gone to Dorsia."
"Nobodygoesthereanymore"
"I see they've omitted the pork loin with lime jello." I don't know why, but that is always one of the funniest effing lines to me.
Hilarious. He just puts that out there.
"Becsuse Bateman wont give the matradee head" very underappreciated and misunderstood statement..
This movie so ahead of time even in 2020. The psychological depths of AP are insane.
1:56 his soul left his body completely
Dorsia rejecting Patrick is the little bit of come upins that we actually manage to see him get.
“Nobody goes there anymore” was perfectly delivered lmao
I thought he was laughing cuz he could hear the porn in the background
