      So sorry about that!! I wanted to share a shortened version of what the process was like for me / some of the other apartments I got to choose from before getting into mine. Thanks for you comment and for watching though!!!

      When I originally started looking (while still in the UK) I was looking at some bigger options (2-3 bedrooms) as the price difference isn't too crazy. However, my parents and the people from my school here recommended that (without me being able to see the places in person myself/not knowing the city and the areas I'd want to live in/living completely alone and having to get my life together for the first time) I should maybe go for something cheaper/closer to work/easier to manage to begin with. I agreed after thinking about it and now that I'm here I think it was the best call. I get to save money living here, it is A LOT less cleaning, and I also do pay the bills so those are a lot less expensive too.
      I also hope I get to see as much of this country as possible and I am so thankful to have met the friends that I have thus far!
      Thank you again for your comment - I really appreciate the support and interest! :)

    Love the Appa picture. Are you able to get Avatar: The Last Airbender in mandarin?

      Thank you! A friend actually hand-painted it for me so if she ever sees this I'm sure she'll really appreciate your comment! I'm sure you can get the show (best show ever by the way) in mandarin but I've only ever watched it in English.

    As vegetarian, check the ingredients of your snacks because most snacks contain animal fat or gelatin.

      Thank you for the reminder! I'm actually not that strict a vegetarian - I try to eat less meat in my diet for various reasons but I personally am not that strict where I would need to start looking at ingredients in everything/limit where and what I can eat when I'm not at home :)

    Mine was a 3 bed 300$ apartment... Living in Canada has not been fun😭

      @HelsBelsAbroad  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I was looking at 2-3 bed places as well before deciding I didn't need that much space from the go/I'd rather view in person and it is definitely crazy what you can get for your money over here! Super grateful to be able to live like this and hope Canada living is still amazing anyway - I think it's one of the most beautiful countries in the world!

      @@HelsBelsAbroad totally. I'd definitely do things a bit differently. Maybe see how studio living feels like. Canada can be quite nice, long as you're on good terms... You can quickly find yourself in a tricky place cuz of a policy change or just when the rules are just being rules. But overall, being in China during your teenage years and banking on cheap expenses is something I'll never forget

    Apartment name ?😅

      @HelsBelsAbroad  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It's a building in Yueyang in the Nanhu area. I probably won't share the exact name of the building just for safety but it's pretty popular so if you were looking into apartments here I think you could find something very similar very easily.

      That's a totally fair comment, I know my apartment is by no means big - it is only a one-bedroom studio after all. This video isn't so much there as an impressive mansion tour... it's just there to show my family and friends where I'm living (my very first apartment for myself), and for anyone else who might be curious as well.
