- I keep getting questions about my studies at the ETH Zürich and I thought that it would be cool if you could have an insight at the everyday eth life. On this day I had two classes, I studied and I went out with my friends (which doesn't happen usually during weekdays but you get the idea). This video was filmed around a month ago, right now we are done with the semester and we're studying for the upcoming exams in August.

Hi Maria. I had a small request to make. Could you make a video on admissions to top universities in Switzerland and Europe in general, keeping in mind, some of the following things :
- which course should one take
- what is the course content structure
- what is the future potential for the course I take in the current job market
- how easy is it to get a placement in paris or France after successful completion of my bachelors
- is it important to learn French to get a job offer
- how easy or hard is the residency in France post my studies
- how much time does it take for me to complete my bachelors
- how much time for my masters
- any new bachelors programs to be introduced in the 2022 intake
- what is the process of admission
- which tests do I need to write or take
-What is the selection procedure
-When should I apply for the intake of 2022
- what is the yearly cost living & education
- is there any scholarships for international students
- what is the criteria for eligibility of this scholarship
- does the university help in procuring jobs
- does the university offer campus placement opportunities
( where companies visit campus to hire prospective students )
It would be great if you could cover some of these points and make a admissions guide sort of a video. Thank you once again !!! Really love your content. Hello. I’ve made a video talking about the admissions process at ETH for the bachelors, but I speak of experience, I don’t know how it works for France, I only know about ETH and German unis. Every country and every university works differently. However, I was planning to do a video with a friend of mine talking about our experience as students in case you’re interested. Hey, loved the video. Could you tell as to how hard is it to get into ETH Zürich? What is the GPA required? (P.S attempting for my masters)
Thank you! I’m doing my Bachelors rn, but as far as I know there isn’t a specified minimum GPA. They assess each application individually based on your studies performance, which means a really good GPA, your bachelors’ university rankings, letters of motivation/recommendation etc. Keep in mind that the applications deadline is in December.

the masters are in English, however all of the requirements are on their website and you can check which certificates you need

Let us all agree that applying to ETH Zurich itself is a difficult process where you need to send some papers by mail and use pen and paper while we live in the age of technology! Seems everything is complicated there
you apply online and you have to send them by mail the official certificates and papers with stamps and stuff like, it’s completely reasonable imo

Can you tell how much the accommodation in the dorms cost? I'm starting my bachelors next year and wanted to know
it’s approximately 600-1000, but it’s hard to find a room in the dorms

I don't know, but I'd like to know this too. I speak French pretty well and plan to take German soon, but I don't think I'll be fluent enough to take classes in the language.

Can I have a Master in Visual Computing if I am currently studying Computer Graphics program? Program has more practical and art foundations, not technical. Hope, you'll have some information for that.
generally most of the programs at eth have a technical foundation, but you could send them an email and get an official answer

From my experience at ETH it is absolutely no problem if you only speak english

check out the student village and living science (the dorms) and websites like homegate and immoscout24 and set up notifications in case something comes up, eth has also a portal for housing

the timings are usually 8-6, I’m not in a different course I just didn’t take all of the classes of the 4th semester and I’ll explain in another video why and how, I’m gonna make another video about eth later cause I got a lot of questions about it and I’ll talk about the cost of living

I actually have a lot of questions, but here are a couple of them:
1. Seeing that you are staying in a very small apartment (I think it is a studio), how much does an apartment small, but cosy (like yours) cost (rent)?
2. I'm also planning to do my bachelors in ETH, and do they offer lessons in English or German is required? (I'm learning German but I hope I would be fluent in time)
Hi, so first I pay 800 for my apartment, but I haven’t heard of anyone else who lives on their own and they pay less than 1000. Usually the dorms cost around 500-700 and if youre lucky to find a single one-room-apartment in the dorms it’s 800. But my friends who live in their own apartments pay around 1000-1500. The bachelors are only in German and you should have a diploma. Everything’s on their website.
When do you have to start searching for a dorm in order to get one? I am looking forward to study at ETH Zürich in September 2020. PS very informative Video!
@@mcmc686 I'm planning on starting this year too, and looking into dorms.. they advise you to start applying for dorms as soon as possible. Some dorms have waiting lists that last over a year! There also is a fb group for the dorms at hönggeberg where you may find rooms earlier, since they go directly from student to student. good luck!

How many international students are there? Where do they mostly come from?
around 1/3 of the students in the bachelors are international students and most of them come from Germany, Austria, some from Italy and Spain, but there are students from all over Europe, some from other continents too. The international students in the master’s are many more because the classes are in English, but idk how many exactly

Why the heck ETH canteen uses disposable plastic utensils?
it’s not exactly an eth cafeteria, it’s a branch of a restaurant and that’s how it works there, we’ve been carrying reusable utensils since to avoid using the plastic ones

I went to a german school in Greece so I took both the greek and the german exams, that’s how I got in. Idk how it works with the SATs.
