Nice run, man! Looks like it was a blast. Biking is one of the few things that can me "painfully miserable" and "pure bliss", at the same time. Thanks for bringing us along, fella! Take care!
Awesome. I missed you out there. It was my first too, and I signed up just a few days before, like you. Super glad for the experience and I hope to do it again next year.
In that general area probably most snowmobile riders are on cross over to off trail mountain sleds. The paddles on the track are 2 1/2 to 3 inches. Trail sleds are 1 1/4 to 1.6. The big paddles can dig in more and cause the trail to get loose. In the north east we get less snow and with less big paddle sleds our trails can stay firm easier. It was hard to tell but the quick glimpse that I got of the sleds they looked long , and possibly off trail oriented
Very happy with it! Yippee Ki Yay’s aren’t the fastest rolling tire, but they also do amazing in medium to soft conditions so I had no issues all day and ended up being faster than I would’ve been with a “slicker” tire.
Great stuff! 200k next year? 😅 Btw if your hands get cold with bar mitts, I highly recommend new Revelate Designs Expedition pogies, they're super warm in comparison.
I can dream right? Haha. The Bar Mitts were great and I actually went gloveless for more than half the time. I also have the 45nrth Cobrafist which are a little warmer but they didn’t work with these bars. I’ll look into Revelates option though!
Yeah I learned that pretty quick haha. It may have been okay if it was a day old tracks or something and had time to firm up a bit, but fresh was rough for riding.
I finished just a couple minutes over 6 hours which put me 26th out of 65 finishers. One of my favorite things about this type of event is that you get a wide range of reasons for doing it: a few to win, a lot to finish, and some to beat your previous time.
Great ride, way to go! I spotted my hubby in your video 😊 (white USWE pack, blue hoodie). I believe everyone was desperately searching for aid 2 😂 What kind of GoPro mount are you using?
These are the Wren Perseverance bars, so it’s all one piece. It’s much wider than a traditional aero bar set up because it’s pretty much all for an alternate comfortable position instead of getting aerodynamic. The 200k would be a tall order for next year haha
Fantastic stuff! I'd love to try something like that, but in my current condition my lungs would pour out of my nose and I'd simply die several times before I even made it half way. I think you'd have to be fucking nuts to do the 200km course, but fucking nuts in all the best ways. Well done 🤘🤘
Thanks! It all went way better than I expected since I hadn't really trained (just done a lot of consistent riding), but I don't know how I would've felt if there were even 5 more miles on the course haha. Also I agree on the 200k, those people are insane in the best way!

Nice to not be the only one haha. Glad you had a good experience, I’m excited to do it again next year.
Rad, Man!!! Great job!!! 👍 👌
Looks like an amazing ride. Maybe I’ll join you next year!
Do it!

Thanks for the insight, I know nothing about them aside from a half day riding with some friends haha
Curious if you were happy with your tire choice . Thanks for the video ,enjoyed watching it and your commentary of the conditions.

man, we don't have snow in my area and I would love to do this epic race.
I do believe that is the Henry's Fork of the Snake River, I think if there was more sled traffic the trail would of been harder to ride.
Yeah I learned that pretty quick haha. It may have been okay if it was a day old tracks or something and had time to firm up a bit, but fresh was rough for riding.
Looks like an awesome event! About how long overall did it take you to complete the course?

@@RideYearRound Nice!! I hope to ride this in the next few years. Hoping I can finish in 8-10 hours!
Great ride, way to go! I spotted my hubby in your video 😊 (white USWE pack, blue hoodie). I believe everyone was desperately searching for aid 2 😂 What kind of GoPro mount are you using?
Awesome! I’m using a DJI Action 4 on a cheap chest mount from Amazon. It works great, but boy did it cause some sweating issues on this ride haha
@ Wow, the DJI footage has great quality! I might have to try than cam 😊 Thanks and ride on!
What model/brand of aero bars are you using? Great job! I gotta do this next year. You doing the 200k next year?
