As a queer lady myself, I have thoughts on that last story - a lot of straight men don't believe in bisexuality, as if women can only be either straight or lesbian. So if he thought she'd only been with women before him, I bet he thought of himself as the man who "turned" her, and had a massive ego trip about it. To have that ego boost shattered was a rude awakening for his dumb butt, and I'm thinking that's a big part of why he was so upset...
100%. I’m a bisexual woman and I’ve met so many men with this kind of mindset. Many men have said it would be okay for me to cheat with a woman, but not with a man. It all factors into the idea that wlw part of bisexuality is simply something to satisfy men, and could never possibly be due to love/ genuine sexual attraction. Plus the idea that sex is ONLY p in v, so sleeping with women isn’t legitimate. Him being the only man feels like he “owns” her and “took her virginity”.
I appreciate Sean's frustration at the Pearl Harbor movie because I too was very annoyed by that love triangle ✋😭 (and all the historical inaccuracies)
NOT TO MENTION just the entire _concept_ of twisting such a deeply impactful WORLDLY event... Into focusing so much on the relatively petty drama between 3 incredibly desperate and stupid people. AND being *historically* inaccurate about the _only important parts of the story..._
I doubt the woman from story #1 would have minded a standalone compliment like 'Sick tattoo, I love that anime!' but she very likely didn't have time for the conversation he was trying to start.
Complimenting the tattoo and drink is fine, but it's when he kept prying seeming to test her anime knowledge or get her number while she's in the middle of taking his order is what angered me. Also he didn't cancel the order! 😂
Story #2. I want to yell at the man, “it’s not about you!” Geeze. Everyone, even married people need alone time. She said it’s her decompression ritual. It has nothing to do with him! We all act a little different when you know you’re 100% alone.
"I just want you to be comfortable around me" proceeds to yell at her about she needs to be comfortable. Like, dude. Take a chill pill and just let her do her thing?
Maybe he should do all her chores naked for a few weeks, see how insecure he'll become robbing the floor or objects with his dingling stuff out while the wife is around. 🙄
Im always AMAZED at how the most unhinged, insecure people i.e. the HUSBAND who can't handle HER past relationships, seem to have such support of their craziness. The fact that he has friends calling her a *hore is insanity, and yet so many of these stories have that in common. WHERE do these people come from?!!
The last story happened to me. My boyfriend called me a slut because I slept with people before I met him -__- and my body count was higher than him ha! Even though I'm older. I broke up hahaha Andrew Tate has destroyed our boys 😭
for the last story i would not have even confronted him. death threats are so serious, i would have gotten my shit together in secret and never spoken to him again after the divorce. im so glad he didnt snap at her
Topless story - she probably doesn’t want to even put the possibility of him sexualizing her out there. The fact that he kept pressuring her tells me she’s right.
It’s giving porn mentality and him thinking he hit the jackpot with a wife that goes around the house topless and that’s why he’s frustrated. Not because he wants her to be comfortable around him.
That's exactly what I thought. You know if she kept her shirt off he would make a move if they're on the couch watching TV or she's bending over doing something half naked. Like I have sex with my fiancé, we have a daughter and I'm pregnant with our second baby, but he DOES NOT want me to see his penis flaccid. Obviously I have when we shower together or whatever, but if he's changing clothes, or getting out of the shower, I respect that and I won't look.
Sadly after a long years of missed diagnosis and illness a friend of mine passed away. A month after that or less i saw her man holding another girl's hand. I was so shocked and disgusted. I didn’t know him but as i know but they lived together for years and till the end. We live in the same neighborhood and every time i see him i avoid him as a plague. Every time i see his face i remember i see him kiss another girl month after his fiance, my friend passed away. And i don't wanna think about that so... that was my sad story "inspired" by Pearl harbor love triangle
In 2016 my sister, the closest family member I have and my best friend, started sleeping with my best friend. A dude who I was more or less friends with benefits with, and who I really liked .. valentines that year he took me to see my favorite artist, paid for me to meet her, got me flowers, etc. so I really thought he liked me too. Then a month or so later I got a “vibe” from them and asked if they were sleeping together, they both told me no. Then they came out shortly after saying they were “dating”. I confronted my sister and she blamed me for “not telling her that I liked him or that we had a thing” yada yada (which I’m still the one who gets blamed for this) and they continued their relationship. They split in Dec right before my sister found out she was pregnant. Then in like June he convinced her to take him back, proposed and in Aug they had my nephew. They only lasted a couple yrs and he turned out to be an even bigger pos over time (lol), but almost 9 yrs later, I still can’t get over that. Our relationship has been fractured ever since and neither of them have ever even kind of apologized. I’m just told to get over it and grow up. I would NEVER do that to her and don’t understand how anyone could do this to their own sibling.
Not Spencer in the last story being exactly like Ben Affleck in the movie Chasing Amy! If ya'll didn't know, in Chasing Amy, Ben Affleck gets with a girl that he assumed was a lesbian and he was her first man. Truth is/was she was bisexual and he was not her first man. He reacted the EXACT SAME WAY and she broke up with him. I wouldn't blame OP if she did the same.
fr that movie weirded me out bc of the "i can change her" thing but,, its this huge ego trip men try to get when they try to make lesbians like them. "i can change/fix you, you havent had the right man yet, etc" its insane. a lot of cishet men dont believe in bisexuality and so people are either gay or straight, and that guy definitely got an ego boost thinking he changed a lesbian and was her "first man"
I worked at a gas station and the guys from the factory across the street would come in just about every day. One of them would ask me out CONSTANTLY. He would follow me around the store asking me what time I was off or where I lived, he would offer me money to go out with him "even just one time", and would get mad if I walked away to help another customer. One of my coworkers ended up making a deal with me that if we saw him walking up to the store, I would head to the back, and he would stay up front and deal with him and the other customers. When I got back, he would go on a smoke break while I watched the store. It was scary coming into work some days.
I think Sean is right to have different opinions about the twin sister story and the Pearl Harbor movie. The twin sister story they KNOW she’s dead. There is a body. I’ve never seen Pearl Harbor but with Sean’s summary he’s presumed dead. There’s no body, give them some time to find it before jumping into bed with his best friend. Also I agreed with their take on the twin sister story but it never specified if they were identical or fraternal twins. I’m personally less inclined to give them grace if they’re identical than if they’re fraternal. Like it’s easier to acknowledge that they’re two separate people and it feels less like a replacement fantasy if they aren’t identical. Don’t know if that is a weird line to draw or not that’s just where it becomes too much to me.
Sean is not a hypocrite! In the Pearl Harbour movie (by his description; I've never seen it XD) portrayed it as "moving on" like it was a decision made to go into the future whereas the guy hooking up with his late partner's twin was a decision made in pure grief on both sides. It's way more understandable and deserves way more sympathy!
I lost my partner three months ago due to a sudden illness. thank you for confirming/validating that three months is nothing when faced with a loss like that. it sounds silly but is something i needed to hear from an outside source.
I feel your pain with developing lactose intolerance Josh 😭 I developed it at 27yrs. Cheese is my life so I use lactase pills, but I can't drink regular milk unless I'm fine with being uncomfortably constipated for the next few days. TMI? 😂
I work in retail. You dont have to have a full convo but you can be nice at least and answer someones question. Part of your job is getting people to come back....lol
True, but I also doubt he is a completely reliable narrator. He may have been creepy there before or they may have been super busy and she was trying to keep the line moving.
Yeah service industry jobs taught me how to put on a smile and be pleasant regardless of my mood or the customer's behavior...it's definitely an acquired skill that can be useful at times. I def would've smiled and been like "thanks! My favorite anime is [xyz]. How can I help you?" And sweetly deflected any further attempts to talk That being said, he said she's super pretty so she might get a lot of creepy attention from customers and has learned to recognize when someone is interested in her and shut them down quickly. The worst part about the service industry is not being able to walk away from uncomfortable situations. Sometimes you have to be rude/blunt because delusional men can view the most basic politeness as "she's into me" and get more encouraged
Story 4 : wdym he's changed he's trying to go with his ex's SISTER it's giving Bridgerton season 2, leave them siblings alone 😭 Edit: OP is breaking her trust too, just saying 'he's changed' while he's doing the exact same thing with OP is willlddd

He reacted the EXACT SAME WAY and she broke up with him. OP should do the same.
Story 2 - If I were her I would also feel the same because even though he says he won’t sexualize her she could never really know for sure he is not. And not just sexualizing there is also the fear that someone is judging your body. Like I bet she wouldn’t be completely naked around a straight girl or a gay guy. It’s a vulnerable position to be in and no matter what you will be subconsciously aware that someone is observing you. He is making this personal when it’s not and it sounds like no matter what her answer was it wouldn’t be good enough.
I agree with this. I'm the same, I hate being shirtless around anyone, even someone I'm dating. I would probably do it during sex if asked, but in general I'm not super happy with how my body looks and it would make me super uncomfy. I would also be really upset if a partner demanded to be a part of my comfort zone just because we were together.
cashier story: he hadnt ordered yet so he walked in and started to fire up a chat.. from my past cashier perspective.. im calculating based on the question how much else is he gonna ask. Suggestion: Order.. attempt friendly banter during the ringing up/ change making, then move on. also he couldve been person number 89 asking this. Customer Service people are humans with bandwidths sometimes its just you getting just the transactional experience of ordering a product and receiving it not a performative engagement.

Anyone who defends that first one is def AH, she isnt obligated to do anything more than do her job, you gave her the compliment, make your order and leave.
Me Personally As long as the body counts not too high. I really wouldn't mind. What I mean by that is, if she has slept with 15 or less people. I'm fine with that. Anything more than I probably would just want to be their friends? Does that make me a bad person probably. But everyone has a right to their standards in a relationship.
Listen, I don’t necessarily think the first op is in the wrong. The cashiers response was rude. How hard would it have been to answer or if it really was busy she could’ve said “sorry, we’re not supposed to chat when we’re busy”
As a queer lady myself, I have thoughts on that last story - a lot of straight men don't believe in bisexuality, as if women can only be either straight or lesbian. I think it’s more about him linking his self worth to a very specific and toxic idea of masculinity too

agree its a very misogynistic but also biphobic mindset on his part

There was a world war, it's difficult to compare three months in our 'peaceful' times to three months in a world war context

I love this pod so so much 😭 seeing the empathy from married men is sooo refreshing
I agree!! I can’t listen to other Reddit podcasts because they’re not nearly as empathetic!!
Completely agree!
@arielflores8607 same
When I hear the words "I was just trying to be nice" I can perfectly envision what that guy looks like and what he sounds like.
The last guy is hilarious 😅
I second that comment.. "Booo you wh*re" indeed! 😅
Josh is my favorite!! I think he’s the best host and I want to bring back pitting John and Sean against eachother 😂
😈😈

Right. She's just getting annoying chores done and he's up there sexualising her 🙄 Yuk!
15:40 wtf?! “Why don’t you feel comfortable?! I’m your fuckin husband! Can’t I badger you into comfort?!”

Lmao Sean is right - the horse thing was Tim Robinson 😂😂
I don't know how many times ive heard the opening before I realized that sound was one of you guys saying you don't know how to read 😂😂😂

LMAO i thought the same thing
cashier story: he hadnt ordered yet so he walked in and started to fire up a chat.. from my past cashier perspective.. im calculating based on the question how much else is he gonna ask. Ive never been to Dutch brothers but now I know why there's always a mile long line at the drive thru
That new intro hits like the first sip of coffee
Coffee shop neck bears became the asshole as soon as she tried doing her job to get his order and he got offended.
Would have been fine if he said oh nice tattoo I'll have a xyz order okay bye -
But he didnt pick up the social cue of her acoidance in answering meant she doesnt want to talk but not let the line backup
Hey! Glad to finally catch the premier 😊
This is the earliest I've ever been, I'll look for any updates or comments to add in my replies lol since they record in advance
Story 1 was posted by OP on amiwrong, AITA and r/AITAH and all of them are telling him he sucks and he left no comments.
Seems someone was desperate to be told they were not an entitled douche
Story 4: OP 😶 you are the most incompetent inconsiderate pathetic excuse of a sister, it’s BAD ENOUGH you went out with your sister EX who you KNEW broke her heart by cheating. Did you HONESTLY believe the guy would be any different with you, are you that self-absorbed to think that wouldn’t cheat on you as well.
You chose a CHEATING sc**bag OVER your sister, you selfishly chose this route, your sister made it CLEAR as day what this decision mean’t. But no…you ONCE AGAIN are thinking about NOBODY but yourself by saying you want to tell your sister however it’s not because you realize you were making a mistake but after he gave you the same treatment.
“You:Yeah. The only thing I can do now is take full responsibility for my actions and pony up and apology.
It's sad because what he did is exactly why people are afraid to give others second chances”
Your right, what he did is exactly why ppl are afraid to give others second chances however it’s NOT just ppl like him, it’s ppl like you or anyone excuses/enables they’re behavior just for their OWN selfish desires.
You were st*pid OP, you were delusional to believe he’d be different with you, and you were SELFISH.
So NO, for ONCE, put your sister FIRST and LEAVE HER THE 🔥 ALONE.
is the first one fake tho? cause why ask if youre TA if no one called u that and this guy doesnt feel bad about it? either way, yeah she couldve said thank you and ignored the rest, but he either had a huge line behind him or she just didnt wanna deal with anything extra at work
The top off while at home one-
She DESSERVES to have her private time, you CANNOT force someone to be half nude
When he pressed it and she said no that should have been IT.
Its just like masutbrstion with partners, if they dont feel comfortable and it feels like a performance dont pressure them.
If you push her then she will never do it around you and will feel probably less attracted to you when you keep saying it after she put up a boundary
Story 2: Just let her do her thing, dude! It's not about you!
Why can't guys just let us be ourselves and not make EVERYTHING about them?!?!?!?
Good luck trying to put a cat in a bag in the first place let alone back in.
I wouldn't even date someone my siblings had a crush on because frankly you are already in dangerous territory im not hurting my family for this bs
problem #1- Thomas was 16 and she was 18. umm what?
Why do you guys say mid-score and lower score? There has to be a reason. I’ve never heard them referred to as anything other than dash and underscore.
I think the sister story is a troll, not buying it
Even tho I'm a woman myself: I may understand feelings of the guy from topless story. It's so crushing to think of your beloved not feeling like 100% safe around you. It's difficult for ppl with self esteem issues
Sooooo early🎉🎉🎉🎉
Happy A$$HOLE Friday ❤
Anyone who defends that first one is def AH, she isnt obligated to do anything more than do her job, you gave her the compliment, make your order and leave.
Me Personally As long as the body counts not too high. I really wouldn't mind. What I mean by that is, if she has slept with 15 or less people. I'm fine with that. Anything more than I probably would just want to be their friends? Does that make me a bad person probably. But everyone has a right to their standards in a relationship.
Fuck!
Listen, I don’t necessarily think the first op is in the wrong. The cashiers response was rude. How hard would it have been to answer or if it really was busy she could’ve said “sorry, we’re not supposed to chat when we’re busy”
Or you can just get an Ad Blocker like I do. You don't have to deal with annoying ADS.
They mention race randomly whaaaay to much, it's not funny anymore, it's annoying now
The first story: he was NOT the AH, SHE was. When you deal with the public, you are REQUIRED to have small talk.
Yes small talk, that was him trying to hit on her. That is not small talk.
