    I love watching eccentric parts being made so that was a bonus.😀 The end result is an impressive build. Super sturdy. No danger of that breaking. Love it.

      Thank you. Some credit needs to go to sbinf74 as his video shows the idea which helped with my build.

    great video, I recognized the Joe Pie method straight away, its one of those things that that make you want to kick yourself for not seeing before.

      Thanks for watching. Sometimes we overlook the more clever ways of doing things.

    Are you going to add some sort of interlock so you can't activate the mill while the lock is engaged? Maybe just a red LED when engaged?

    • @thehobbymachinistnz
      @thehobbymachinistnz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't planned to add anything. Maybe I just need to be careful ;)

    Great build! How are you going to avoid turning it on with the lock engaged? I feel like it would be not if, but when I'd make that mistake.

      At this time I will need to be careful. Someone else mentioned interlocks which would work.

    Have you tried using a magnet to hold the tool to the nut when tightening and loosening.

    • @thehobbymachinistnz
      @thehobbymachinistnz  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I have not done that. Is carbide magnetic?

      Which vise? In the mill it is a Chinese vise. I could not afford a Kurt. The HD690 is over $1700 in NZ. If you are talking about the vise on the work bench then that is a shop made vise. This is the first build video for it - th-cam.com/video/rX6c9bEvrl8/w-d-xo.html

    • @joamonirl
      @joamonirl 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes the one in the Mill. I'm undecided between Vertex and Homge

    • @thehobbymachinistnz
      @thehobbymachinistnz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@joamonirl It is a Chinese vise. It seems ok, but maybe anything is better than what I had:)

    Hey mate, I noticed the column lever area with some kind of mechanism for lifting your mill up & down, do you reckon you could do a video of it ?

    • @thehobbymachinistnz
      @thehobbymachinistnz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, yes I can do that. I plan to do a shop made tools and improvements video on the mods to the mill which will include the power lift.

      Thanks for your question. I don't know. I thought that RongFu is an Asian company?
