Playing Technique:
Played between pickups, with high strength. Just neck knob
Gear Sound:
Added almost full mid and some treble. Added some distortion and very cranked up amp. I know the sound is not spot on. I really don't know about the original setup of the song, but i really couldn't emulate it properly
About The Song:
Got to say i'm not very happy with this one. There's a lot of stamina and strength in Cliff's playing, and the sound, etc. But i think you'll be able to listen to the notes and learn to play the song properly. I used an isolated bass that i found and i think i did a good transcription. At the the end of the song.. just get wild

Cliff was a genius at writing within the root notes in always a super interesting way without slaving to the root and being counter productive to the song.
Anyone that has written bass lines knows how rare that skill is.
It's called using thirds and fifths. Not that complicated

Being a great writer is far more difficult than being a technically complicated player. I’m coming up on my fifty year mark as a player, and the complicated part is easy, writing is another story.
The timing is so random in that short part right before each verse. He's playing it right but it just make my head hurt.
That part is hard as fuck for me lol
The chorus also creates brain hurt.
And what a cool riff it is!

You mean the little fill/ chromatic walkdown (and back up)? If so, just remember Cliff was a big fan of Southern rock and the like-- forget you're playing thrash metal, and pretend you're playing blues or Skynyrd for a bar ;)

It may not be perfect as Andriy Vasylenko says, and I've watched his bass interpretations of Metallica, and have a lot of respect for him HOWEVER this is an awesome work that you have done and it's cool to have this version thanks to you.
