Your Dad got a good one there. I bought one early last year ( not from HH) and it's probably the worst AW I own. I think they got Stevie Wonder to file the pins down because chunks of the rosewood have been filed away. Also the rosewood appears to have been dyed or coloured and now a pink colour is coming through. Ten millimetres of one side of the blade has not touched the grinder at all and when I open the knife and turn it upside down the blade veers off in a 'five past one' direction. And now it's starting to rust but I can't put oil on the blade because it's so hard to open that my fingers can't grip it.
Apart from that I like it.😂😂 I didn't send it back because I have a feeling it's been returned many times before by fussier customers than me and I'll keep it as a reminder of how bad things were at one point. And now I will love it the same as the ugly dog in the rescue centre that nobody wants but you know deep down it's alright.

What a story! But hey, I have two A. Wright Lambsfoots that had a critical FAILURE. The springs snapped! But I too, keep them. As a means of comparing them to the nice stuff they make today.

What a lovely example. I think I have to have one now. Thanks for reviewing it and congrats on hitting a century.

Thank you! I really like this one. It's possibly the nicest made A. Wright I've ever handled!

Simple and basic, but none the worse for that! The Senator is my favourite Wright pattern, but I often carry one of my many, many sheep/lambs foot knives.

Mine's the Ettrick, but I love them all.

Looks like it could be a Ramsfoot profile. If the blade is wider at the tip than at the plunge grind then I say Ramsfoot.

Hm, I suppose you may be on to something, here. 🤔 Good spotting!
      Cheers, as always!
