It's a brilliant film that did not receive the appreciation that it deserved.

A MASTERPIECE MOVIE - First Indian film to enter the top 10 in the United Kingdom box office charts. All top artists of India worked in a single movie. Srk, Ramgopal Varma, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Maniratnam, Shekhar kapoor, AR Rahman, Lata Mangeshkar, Gulzar. It was based on Arabic Litreture's 7 shades of love. The story passes right through it. You still have to reacted to songs for which Srk is known for "high energy" . Very high energy. Ranveer Singh would look weak compared to Srk when he was at his prime.

Dil se is one of the later appreciated films of srk which was directed by legendary maniratnam. It became a hit in foreign countries but couldnt perform that well in india. Then it became a cult classic here too.
The movie "dil se" is set in backdrop of a civil war, between rebels and government and that's what the music video suggests , love in a war torn area filled with conflicts. Every music video in "dil se" is symbolic and represents the different plot lines of the movie.
Dil se movie will be always remembered for its music and Manish Koirala's powerful performance. Mani Ratnam is one of the finest directors of Indian cinema.
The entire visuals of the song is metaphorical. Conveying love in times of war & kids at the end depicting a hope for a bright future. U need to see the movie to understand the context
The best way to contextualize this song for those about to view it without knowing what the movie is about: it’s a dream sequence. Shahrukh’s character is hopelessly infatuated with this woman that he barely knows, the woman is singularly focused on her mission which is to carry out a high value terror attack but is also slowly beginning to fall for him (and he can feel it). At this point, the man doesn’t know her story but through this song, we are seeing her background be revealed (a victim of military atrocities she endured as a child that radicalize her to strike back). The video juxtaposes visuals of one man’s “happy falling in love dream sequence” song as commonly depicted in romance dramas with the violence and unrest that casts a shadow on the other. It’s some heavy shit. And yes, the audio mix on a lot of these Venus uploads of 90s movies is garbage. It sounds pristine on CD or a legit streaming music service.
