One thing you can say is you never get bored. The helicopter ride gives you a nice view. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. Thanks for sharing.
It was my first time taking a chopper from the island. Cool seeing it from the air.
Hello friends. Watching the helicopter ride reminds me of my last few weeks living on the island. I had to make a few solo nights out there in February to winterize the cabin. All I could think about was how great the mountains looked! Everything was covered in pure white snow, the air was cold and calm, the waters looked like glass reflections of peacefullness. After I landed and the pilot departed, I sat on that island beach alone in the snow, all I could hear was my own heart beating and sadness setting in as I knew it was coming to an end. Thanks for the memories Brian and Diana.
It sad how things worked out for you guys. I wish you could have stayed longer.
Thanks for sharing your advents with us, people don't understand sometimes what Alaskans go thru! And yes, float planes and helicopters are our safety net!
Exactly!
So much work just to go to town! But the views from the helicopter was amazing! Stay warm you two!
You guys do the same.
That view of the moon hanging low over the mountains during the boat ride was spectacular! And the whales! Cool!
Yes it was!
Good to see you again life is just a endless Adventure I love the Helicopter ride reminds me of my first 18 years in Alaska in the National Guard flying all over Alaska in Helicopters for 18 years and getting Paid, Kodiak to Nunivak island, Scammon Bay, Nome to Red Dog mine., all acroos the Brooks range Artic village Venetie, Northway all the southeast Coastal water but the most interesting was Lituya Bay. O I for got the 2 weeks we stayed on Annette island to training living in 10 Man Tent at the old ww2 Airstrip. That was back in the days are mission was to protect Alaska from invasion by other Country's. It was a differant time. I love to see your new Boat ing Action. Thank you both again.
Man that sounds like some good times. The military can give you both great memories and some crappy ones too😂 Take care.
Glad you have the helicopter if you need it.
It is a nice, scenic ride👍
What a cool ride. What a beautiful day to get it all done. Back and forth and back just in time again….😂 worm up with a nice fire…….nothing like it.
That was fun you guys have a great week..!!
Thanks Ron. Hope your doing good.
The helicopter scene was awesome.
Yeah it was. That was my first time going from the island to town. Really cool.
1745 Daylight Savings Time in the Fraser Valley of British Columbia. Beautiful video as always, the sunset and moon rise was spectacular. Good on you both for always thinking of family first.
Many thanks!
Never a dull moment. 😁 That was a pretty smooth transition into the kayak from the boat. Nicely done.😁💪
I’ve been practicing 😂
You certainly had a more eventful week than I did! ( thank goodness!). Thanks for sharing! .
You bet!
Wishing you the best for 2024! This year has been a tough one for you all.
Thank you. I know someone else who loves helicopter rides👍
Awesome music and helicopter footage! 👍😎🇨🇦

Thank you
Wow that was an adventure! Hope all is well with Diane's mom.
So far so good. Thanks for watching Jewels.
Great video! Probably a lot nicer to be in that helicopter than one where you are wearing 60 lbs of gear and a knot in the tummy.Great boat! Going to town on Tuesday ( between bad weather strings).. Wednesday thru Saturday look awful... Tuesday ok but probably a lumpy ride.
Ha I was telling the pilot I used to jump out of blackhawks in the army😂👍
Everyday is an adventure huh B? Way to make it happen as safely as possible. Thanks for sharing and be well!
Thanks for watching. Hope you have a great week.
Beautifully shot video! such gorgeous scenery!
Such an adventure you both live. Wonderful to get these glimpses. Live free.
Hi Diane and Brian. As the saying goes, “never a dull moment😮”. You both are your mum’s life line. That helicopter ride was just beautiful, a bird’s eye view of part of your island. Did see the mother whale and her calf. I often wondered how you got to the shore once you’ve moored the boat. Now I know 😊. It was a calm and beautiful day. Thanks for sharing, 🇦🇺 fan.
It was definitely an awesome ride in the chopper
Keeping you on your toes that’s for sure. Many thoughts and prayers! You guys are awesome!
Thank you so much!
Thanks, fun times best of luck. ✌🏻👊🏼
You bet
WOW YOU HAVE TO DO WHAT YOU DO to bad what others say. Iam surprised they have DON'T HAVE NVG'S our's mostly do but not all. WOW what a view. NZ CHEERS YOU TWO
It would be cool if they could fly at night. Thanks.
As someone who lives on the south coast uk, its a joy to pop into your lives and see how you live.
Thanks Ted.
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing. God Bless.❤
Wow, and out of breath for good reasons...😂 So many of us take so much for granted, and when I watch ya'll and realize how difficult everyday tasks can be, I'm glad I live in Florida...lol 😂😅 That boat is still sexxxxxyyy...😊 Love ya'll ❤
Florida is definitely not big on aluminum boats. The beaches must not be as rocky I guess. 😂👍
@AnAlaskaHomestead Au Contraire. I have a Grizzly 1648, I use for fresh and salt water, duck hunting too. They're used more and more here, mostly bay boats, just not deep keeled as yours. Mostly center console and flats boats.
Hope all are safe and healthy. Take care and stay warm!
Thank you
Back in the saddle again..good on you !
Always!
Hi Brian and Diana. Good to see you today. Wow what views. Love your new boat. Be careful if it gets dark. How long does it take you to get from town to the island. Just wondering. Hoping all is well in town. Thanks for sharing. Take care. Be well✌️🇺🇸❤️❤️
With the new boat it takes about 30 min.
@@AnAlaskaHomestead thank you for answering. I was just wondering. I figured with that new boat it wouldn’t take long. I love your new boat. You all take care. Looking forward to the next video. Love you guys. Take care from Cape Cod Massachusetts ❤️🇺🇸
Hope you are all ok. I want to wish you all a blessed Thanksgiving. Enjoy the day. Stay safe and warm. Hope to see you soon✌️🇺🇸❤️❤️
I don't think I'd be able to get into the kayak so gracefully. I would be in the water at some point. I just recently (a month ago) saw a AK (I think) Mountain Men show where the guy in AK has the flip down wheels on his boat. His boat seemed a little small for rougher water but what a useful thing to have on a boat. He could drive the boat right up on the shore. Side note- Bromelain from Pineapples is good for getting rid of the spikey harmful things related to the thing they want to get into everyone. Taken on a empty stomach it gets into the bloodstream and gets rid of the bad things. Just saying.
I’d love some of those hydraulic drop down legs
Great vid, as always, folks! ❤🤘
Thanks again!
Happy veterans day to you thank you for your service to this country !
Thanks to all the Vets out there today.
Beautiful helicopter ride. It makes me appreciate the conveniences I have here in Minnesota. But I would love that copter ride!! Thanks for filming it!! How long did it take? You definitely are Alaska tough. I bet it felt good to get back in your boat!! You had a smooth ride. I hope mom is doing okay. Take care, Stay safe and have a great week!!
The chopper ride was amazing. It was cool seeing the island from above. Moms doing good. We find out when her surgery date is tomorrow.
Oh and it took about 15-20 mins from lift off to touch down.
Your life is really busy. All the best Gary.
Thank you
Thankyou 😊
You’re welcome 😊
The mom and baby did show ok, I was wondering what it was though. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching 👍
P.S. YOU need a little ladder. NZ
I do need a ladder.
You gotta good lady! Keep takin care of her.
I was hoping to see some colored smoke grenades and a hippy dance as the Helio landed...maybe next time ?
Cheers from the rock
Redwood
Thank you, I will
Lots of great comments about the awesome videography, but I think Dashbshots commented on the most impressive part of this video...getting into a kayak from another boat moored in the bay. Very impressive indeed. 7:20
Ha I pretty much p excellence 😂👍
Lol...my efforts of getting into a kayak usually amount to a semi-graceful fall and a prayer that I dont flip the dang thing over.
I really like this video. I am tempted by that lifestyle and this one showed a bit of what it's like when s*#t happens and there's no other choice but to run around in circles. Those sunset shots after 12:30 were like the icing on the day. And I agree, she is lovely.
The rewards are worth it 👍
Really like your videos.
Glad you like them!
what an interesting life you live!!!
We try😂👍
One thing's for certain you can never say "Same old same old" living out there.
That’s the truth
Just sending ❤
Always welcomed
So cool! How does the copter pilot know your location? GPS coordinates?
We have the coordinates but he had been here before.
Do you have your flag in your PC out there for the LZ? You should get NVGs for the boat.
Ha no I have a vs 17 panel sew in my hat 😂👍
Okay what's going on you guys all okay out there I'm sitting here Sunday and Monday and Tuesday waiting for a video miss you guys😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Hey we are back😂👍
❤❤❤❤❤❤💘👍👍👍👍👍👍😁😁😁😁@@AnAlaskaHomestead

Nah!
Been there several times and it was awesome every time!
@@AnAlaskaHomestead
😂
Nah!
Been there many times and it is just full of awesomness!
How ever, as I get older, Florida appeals all the more to me, but the problem there is that I'd have neighbours living just an elbow away.

You've got a pretty good first mate there ;)
I sure do

Thanks Roger🤗

Me too. I should call.
Hello ...What kind of boat do you have?.....Pro's and Con's?
It’s a Stabicraft. I’m going to do a review on it soon. Want to put some more hours on it first.
Hope you both are doing ok?
We are. We will have a video out tomorrow 👍
What boat did y'all go with ?
