  • Stalder press is certainly not the easiest skill out there but it's doable. Some learn it by accident (as me) but there are some exercises that you can use to drill your way towards it! Most importantly, you need to have a clean and solid straddle handstand press and a certain level of balance. This video shows you 5 exercises and gives you hints on what to watch out for when training this skill.
    In case you are still pursuing handstand press check out my video on it:

    I learned a proper press to handstand after practicing for around 6 months, now I accidentally found that I can do a negative stalder press on paralletes so my next goal will be the stalder press and a proper v-sit! Just found your channel and already subscribed after watching this video, great information and very helpful!

    Amazing video. I looked this up to compare my stalder to more experienced people so I can improve. Video is straight to the point with no fluff, excellent visual demonstrations of each exercise, and the exercises chosen are all actually necessary for the move and not just a pony show for views. Great work

    How much do you think the mobility will take for someone who have zero mobility only strength

    • @iris_easy
      @iris_easy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on how often you stretch, if you really got zero and start stretching 4 times a week with the right technique I’d see 6+ months 😄 but again this might vary from person to person.

      The one from the floor they normally call STALDER press. Straddle just means that your legs are straddled

    How often do you train for stalder press? Also are there any prerequisites to learning it?

    • @iris_easy
      @iris_easy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Prerequisites as stated in the video: multiple HS presses, comoression strength and shoulder strength and enough mobility 😅 how often you train it depends on what your focus is but I would say don’t go beyond 3x a week, if you also train planche e.g., then you’ll be fine with 1-2x the strength exercises and HS work, mobility you can do almost every day. It’s hard to answer this question isolated though since I don’t recommend to work onesided only on one movement.

    THANK YOU, I love these exercises. Struggling with this one.
    My case is perhaps somewhat weird/interesting: I can free HS for 60s+ and pressing to HS on floor but I can't press and hold a good stable HS on parallettes, so when training Stalder intermediate movements on parallettes I can't recruit the same strength and stability I have on floor to go all the way up or even a negative, which I can do on floor (and even back up without touching the floor a few reps). I'm thinking my solution would be to either be patient and learn the Stalder on floor (more mobility required) or to learn a more stable HS and press on parallettes. What do you think? Am I too off on my logic here? :D Thanks!

    • @iris_easy
      @iris_easy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s interesting, probably you press uncontrolled, have you ever filmed yourself?:)

    • @stereoscuro
      @stereoscuro 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@iris_easy yes I did, but I will update that with my current level (on a good day! 😅). These last few days I was able to high press to HS on paralettes, but no where near my floor stability yet, although it seems that's the way to go instead of trying to achieve the Stalder on floor first.

      @@iris_easy i mean the minimum time i need to learn it

    • @iris_easy
      @iris_easy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@enemyforfun7922 depends on how good your shoulder and triceps strength and hip mobility is and how good your normal handstand press is. There’s no general answer to this.
