Hey, I mean Leon only got shot once, Claire didn't get hurt at all (I don't think) and it would've been fun shooting zombies, anything else would be too stressful and the terror would just surpass the fun of shooting (you'd also have to push it out of your head that you were shooting ex-neighbors)
Nothing. FInal Brikin is not a natural evolution. After Fourth Malformation of G was defeated, it's regenerating abilities collapsed. To heal the wounds, Birkin started absorbing everything it could. But his body collapsed to a point, where g could not do anything beyond chaoticly adding new limbs and growing the old ones. Which resulted in the blob. It's a simmilar situation to the movie Akira.
The official resident evil archives said that Birkin would have had a 6th and even a 7th transformation if he wouldn't got destroyed and the g-cells mutated further.

My favorite Birkin form by far. The thought of a giant, gapping maw full of pointed teeth coming at you on four legs to either devour or impale you is terrifying.

In the remake his 4th form is a destabilized version of his 3rd form with his body falling apart and making clear that the G virus's healing ability is failing and has turned Birkin into a walking tumor and foreshadows his final form as it can no longer support all the damage he's taken. Makes his final form make more sense as it seems weird that this version would go from a stable wollf like monster like this to a shapeless blob monster, having his 4th form be a degraded version of his 3rd form is more fitting imo.
I wish they could have kept the opera in the remake at least. This sells home the surrealistic horror of a beast chasing you down with the intentions of tearing you apart. It also sounds powerful

There were games here that were scary. There were good characters, but never has RE scared the living shit out of me. G is probably the craziest thing ever devised by Capcom (so good, they ripped it off in RE6. Bastards). The music for the beast was more nightmare fuel.
The fourth form was the thing that killed me on Claire A every single time i was on yellow caution health and i never understood why it did that, i only ended up beating it by sheer luck.
The first time I beat this boss on Claire A scenario since I've bought it from the PlayStation store, I use the handgun to kill him. Wasn't my brightest and smartest idea plus I almost died, but it worked.
I can hear Birkin roaring and growling whenever I hear this song. It sounds way more menacing than Nemesis's final battle theme in RE3 and I love it but I like Nemesis's final battle theme a lot better. This theme really mirrors how relentless and non-giving up William Birkin really is
Nemesis's final boss theme goes for something completely different. By the end of the game, you've kicked his ass so hard that he's a pathetic shell of his former self and you're putting it down once and for all. It's a cathartic release after all the trouble he puts you through. It's basically a victory lap. This theme is just pure terror and easily the hardest part of Resident Evil 2 (not counting extra scenarios like Hunk and Tofu)
just finished playing it blindly and this has to be the best song in the game. died 3 times to him. and I forgot to save all those times cause I thought you could not save during self destruct sequences. then I tried it and what do u know I beat him.
Imagine a G virus outbreak? That would be a nightmare. Nothing short of a massive explosion can stop these things. You would be running and hiding from them the entire time. True survival horror.
I hope Capcom brings G back in a future resident evil. At least it'll be mildly scary again, as long as you don't have an arsenal of weapons to back you up like RE5.
