Phanteks Eclipse P600S - Can it Eclipse the Evolv X? Custom Loop Time!

- It is safe to say Leo really likes the Phanteks Evolv X. The Eclipse P600S is based on the same core chassis as the Evolv X, but the overall look is very different with fabric panels and a distinct lack of RGB lighting. Leo puts it through its paces by building a full-on CUSTOM LOOP inside the P600S before giving his final verdict.

#Phanteks #P600S #EclipseP600S
3 years later and still the best case in the market, totally love it.
Best aesthetic too so far, so classy.. got mine in anthracite grey, beautiful.
Love my p600s. After weeks and weeks of debating I picked it for my first build ever and regret nothing. Made it really easy for a first time builder, having many great features
Wow this was your first case? Lucky! I've worked with some really terrible cases over the years, it will bring out the worst words out of your mouth messing with tight spaces, screws everywhere, and flimsy plastic snapping. Don't forget side panels that you need 4 arms to make sure it is making contacts on all 4 angles before sliding into place, forever warped.
@@QactisX Phanteks generally does a good job(I have a 400a, a 600s, and a 719). The only criticism I have is they do sometimes go overboard on "available separately", and they shave A LOT of material for lightening/cost reduction. If you're okay with a case that isn't a solid brick of steel and you may have to buy some accesories(drive cages, pump mount)...
@@Grimmwoldds How is the thermals of the 400a vs 600s?
@@johnsiayor4437 They both have similar thermal models(most of Phanteks cases do). You have more radiator mounting spots(a bit thicker rad up front, top mounted rad), a hinged tempered glass window, a larger space in that front void between GPU/front to put things in, and the aesthetics.
So thermals aren't a major difference between the two unless you run a custom loop.
@@Grimmwoldds Thanks for the answer ^^,
I just bought this case, really appreciate seeing your build process as I'm a bit nervous about it. Good video! thanks!
I couldnt decide between a silent case and a high airflow case. So I've chosen the P600S and I love it!!!
Great video btw.
Just stopping briefly at 1:44 - nice smooth editing there with the panel removals. Had to have a second take. Oh, and always a pleasure to have Leo.
How the heck did he do that edit? I see a slight flicker of the case as if it was moved a hair, but he was talking nonstop. Is there a video editing software that has like a Photoshop magic wand feature that lets you edit out a very specific area of a video like that. Would love to see how its done. Im guessing one just has to swap the object with the new object that you want in the video by putting it into the exact location as the old object and then taking a picture of it. Then magic cropping out everything else out of the pic and pasting it over the old object frame by frame? That was pretty nifty.
OK i have to say i am honestly impressed with this case.
The build quality is great , sound dampening actually works , when you want to just plop on the panels & you get around 10 DB less noise from the case.
I am currently using 9 Arctic BioniX fans , 1x P140mm fan at CPU exhaust , Top is x3 F120mm for exhaust and x3 at front in-take of P120mm (will change to X3 P140`s soon)
and i have x2 P120`s on my Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black (replaced original fan and slapped on a push-pull config) And i have to be honest the temps are just impressive.
My GPU sits at 31 up to 33C on desktop with Wallpaper engine running and playing Azur Lane via an emulator (mobile game KeK)
And my CPU sits at 29-31C (I6 6700K / will soon be upgrading to a Ryzen 7) / I even tested in many many games and i can honestly say i can barely hear my fans
even if i do hear them they are around 1,000-1,500 RPM tops and after heavy gaming sessions i never go above 65c on my GPU (RTX 2080 Super MSI Gaming X Trio)
and the cpu never hit 70 / was sitting around the high 60`s (No it is not a Delid one , OC`ed at 4.6 gHz all core)
Actually it was a pleasure taking my whole system out from my old case and slapping it into this one.
Only 1 small thing that worries me personally is how tight it becomes in the front bottom section at the PSU shroud , i have lotsa stuff so it became a bit tight for the cables
.
I gotta say Leo does not give this lovely case enough credit!
Overall i would highly recommend this case to anyone that is after airflow like me :)
this is one of best reviews I've ever seen! spot on!
The case is absolutely astonishing.
But Leo, you make me wonder how this single 280 Rad could cool CPU, GPU and mainboard mosfets.. ?!
I am running 2x 360s from Alphacool (xt45=45 mm thick) for a ryzen 2600x and an evga gtx 1080 sc and the ddc 3.25 with 70% speed Pumps up to 42°C warm Liquid (Liquid.cool cfx), which btw didn't clog after 16 Months.
Okay, so let me get this right, "silent mode" is the mode where airflow is cut off, meaning that the fans have to spin faster to cool the pc. Is anyone else seeing a problem with this?
Not so much 'cut off' as 'reduced' and therefore best used if you build a modest PC. I wanted to go for something more grunty so airflow was a necessity.
I like the P600s best, which is why I bought one. Definitely better looking in white IMHO.
the editing is just perfect
Never knew the P600 existed, but now you have me rethinking my idea to get the Evolv X and do some custom modding to the panels and paint it white with orange accents. But one thing I see so many people do, which totally boggles my mind, is they put everything on BEFORE the CPU/CPU Block, making it a little more space constrained to install it. Why not add the RAM last? lol
I liked this case so much, I even bought two units.
Love this guy and the work he does. Seems like he sick of your crap before you even start with it.
Hey Leo, have you noticed any variation in noise between the the evolve and this p600s?
I know am a bit late but can you do a push pull in the front? Can you fit fans behind the front panel?
On the suggestion to buy the Evolv X I don't like the look of the front panel on that case. Which is one of the reasons why I didn't buy it. Another reason is I don't like that it has two glass side panels.
I prefer the look of the P600.
I have my computer in my living room where I spend most of my time and I need a quiet computer so when I am watching TV and I have my computer doing something I can close the panels on the case to make it a bit quieter.
I have three 140MM Bequiet fans that will go into the case and they are very quiet fans. Currently I have six fans in my Fractal R4 and its barely audible. I open the door on the front when I need extra airflow and I have a 240MM DeepCool Captain 240 AIO cooling my CPU.
Unless gaming you will not hear the compouter because the loudest ting in the computer is my Gigabyte GTX 1070 Windforce OC Rev 2.0 which gets loud. Otherwise my computer is very very quiet.
Decent case and features comes apart nicely to allow you to build i want the white fractal desighn r6 for my pc build seasonic snow psu is the one i want for my build .
Only a 280 rad for a cpu & gpu ? Disappointed you didn’t do a better loop build in this case!!
Have seen some great loops in this case over on build gg and part picker.
Have yet to pick up the case but love the aesthetics of it and the fact you can choose silent or airflow. Brilliant case.
Really nice building and video. I wanted to buy this case but the rest was pretty fun to watch too. Thanks! I have a Corsair 780T which is awesome for building, has tons of space. I'm planning the next build and even if this is not a full tower which i always buy it seems to be very spacey and well built. I personally dont like Glass for the side as it makes it very very heavy and since i clean my box every second week its a hassle. I tried the
"Be quiet Dark Base Pro 900" once and hated it.
I got the Glacier White P600S, never selling it.
Since my Pump once Died I always connect it to the CPU Header! So, in that Case, you get an instant Alarm @ Bootup! If Watercooling way more important than if a Fan Fails ! just saying ;)
What kind of pump were you using? pump failures in old AIOs are something we know about but a DDC or D5 should be a different matter.
@@KitGuruTech It was a D5 from Alphacool...got it replaced for Free! This one is still running 3 years Daily about 6-8 Hours!
@@tat2thadevil76 I take it that was their own VPP655 rather than a D5 but even so, that's a bad experience. Good that Alphacool honoured their warranty and that all is now well.
@@KitGuruTech That was exactly the Model Nr. ;)
Got a link to the GPU riser card?
Great video, I just bought a P600S and this will help me with my build.
Phanteks PH-CBRS_PR22 - 220mm Premium Shielded High-Speed Technology PCI-E 3.0 x16 Riser Cable, 90o Adapter
Hi KitGuru, compliments on the video and the build! Thanks for a great review!
Is there enough room behind the Glacier R220 to put a D5 pump?
Thank you
Regards
Excellent review...told me all I needed to know in a straight forward manner and helped me choose the 600S for my Rampage V E10 & 5960x ... brilliant case for £114.00 in my view and a joy to build .... lots of space... clean looks inside and out and great cooling .... Love the cable management and pop off doors ... Thanks Leo!
I heard the guide rails for front cooling fans are very flimsy, and some people are saying it could cause noise when front fan's rpm get quite high. Is it really true?
Nice build! Thank you, Leo. The case looks great and has lots of options, but the white color for me would be a no-go. It would show paw prints too easily.
What color did you choose ? Im hesitating between black and grey
@@Chadowgon5 I never bought it. I went with a traditional black case from Corsair (678c) which has worked out well for my build.
Thank you for in depth review. It is very useful. In your opinion will I suffer with serious problems in terms of airflow/temperatures if I install MSI X570 Creation, Ryzen 3950X, RTX2080Ti, NH-D15 chromax.black for CPU cooling in Evolv X case? Your comment would be gratly appreciated.
Nice video, makes me consider getting this case now
Wait this whole time I've been using a card to carefully spread a nice even thin coat of thermal grease on the CPU before installing my AIO, now you're saying all I have to do is bloop some on there and we're good?
You cant put a pea size ball in the middle of the cpu and just plop on your cooler. It will spread out perfectly if you drop it straight on with sliding the cooler around. Some people do the pea, others do cross/X, Some do an 8 pointed star pattern. I think the cross and star pattern use too much paste if you ask me.
Вот смотрю смотрю и не могу понять , шлейф PCI-E x16 родной или куплен отдельно.??))
Отдельно, к сожалению.
Great review. Torn between this case and the Evolv X. I wonder how the fabric mesh (when exposed) will fare with four cats.
P600S will have two front filters (fabric mesh and fine filter behind it) whereas the x has one filter. 2 filters probably better for pets.
ABSOLUTELY GREAT VIDEO!.....NOT TO MENTION......A FREAKING GREAT SITE!.😎😎👍🏻👍🏻......And its NICE as Heck to have a Good Geezer from "Across The Pond" who can do a "Proper" Vid. and Explain things without all of the "CHEEZY THEATRICS" such as most of the PC Geeks make them over here in the US!........EXTREMELY REFRESHING!.....2 THUMBS UPWARD! I'm planning to do a custom GPU+CPU loop in the same case. Do you still have the price specs for your loop there? I want to know roughly how much to lay aside.
I want to build like that water cooling system. but you didn't put any name of the Pc components in this vid, ... can you please put some products name so that I can go check it out.
love the skim milk cooling loop
hey i have a important question, what large is the pci cablei need to buy but i dont now
Hi, a realy good video! There are some nice ideas in it. I have a question: at the time 9.28 in the video you are building in a graphic card holder. What brand is it and where to buy?
maybe a tipp for me?
The holder comes with the case but the riser cable does not you need to buy it separately, it's been reports that you should buy the Phanteks riser cable as it works best with the holder.
Does the case has the same glossy finish inside the case in the white sections?
Solid Build!
how long pcie extension cable is needed in that case to go from top pcie slot? I have this case, x570 and 3080 to mount vertically
Leo fabulous review as usual. Would it be possible to do a review with the new Phanteks Universal distribution block, I have been eyeing that reservoir for my first custom loop, however I would prefer to not have the heat going out from my gpu into my cpu, so that distro plate makes a lot more sense
The distro plate has only just launched so perhaps I'll get to use it in the future. The Computex show case required some complicated tubing and I am in two minds whether the universal nature means it will be awkward to use. It is certainly interesting and AFAIK a unique product.
@@KitGuruTech Thank you for the response, I'm hoping that Phanteks will come out with a package that has all the necessary components to make that loop a complete system.
Can it accommodate the Corsair Shift PSUs?
I'm waiting for delivery for a P600S (When I ordered it on amazon eight days ago it said delivery by Friday the 9TH). It will replace my Fractal Design R4 that I have been using with six years now. I should have known that the £94 price I paid for it would have bitten me in the ass with the delayed delivery. Its sitting at the courriers sorting hub in dublin Ireland since midday yesterday. Anyway I bought / paid for the solid panel versuion though. I have no interest in having a glass side panel on my computer and it won't be light up like a christmas tree
Hi. After a year, do You recommend this case? :D
@@QuadrotesOpowiesciGrozy yes. It's an awesome case. It's the best case I've ever had on the 16 years of building various computers for myself.
@@Steve30x Thank you for answer! Cheers
Dear Leo or anyone that chekcs the comments , is it possible to make a review for Arctic BioniX F and P series fans ? I would really appreciate your opinion / feedback on those fans.
I am currently using 9 of them for my whole system and i was impressed by the performance and weirdly enough they are pretty quiet.
I have seen a couple of reviews online and i was not happy with how little info they give us on those fans / or tests on systems.
I believe them to be just as good as a Corsair MM or LL series fans , just no RGB elements on them , but they are hella cheap in my country.
I got 9 of them for about 45-50$ US / ( in my Country a Noctua or BeQuiet fans are around 25$ US just one piece ...... )
The problem with the evolve x is the argb compatibility
is there enough clearance for push and pull config on top mount of radiator?
Did you find a answer?
Can it fit both a 420 front and 360 roof rads together?
Nope got a 420 in front and had to switch to a 280 up top (EKWB brand)
Can I install the nexxoss 280 in front with a one just i have 360 gts nemesis on the top?
What are those RAM? I really like the rgb white effect
Corsair Dominator
Does this case support a msi b550m mortor motherboard ??
Can i get link for GPU vertical holder?
Definitely bettet than evolv x airflow talking
The dust filters on this P600s better than what is on be quiet cases? (got a silent base 801, basically no difference having the filter on/off :D )
What GPU mount is that?
where i can buy that gpu holder?

White is not really RGB? Matter of fact it's 100% RGB (or should I say 255, 255, 255?) in the full meaning of the term :P
Ok, I'll let myself out...
xD Sure it is!
MAN!! WHAT KIND OF GPU RAISER YOU USE???!!! PLS!!! ANSWER!!!
It comes with the case, riser cable sold separately. Jesus.
is the psu cover removable?
If I understand you question correctly: Yes, you can see it at 6:28.
I've got the P600S white, it's a great quality case. Before this i'd owned a few cooler master cases, and cooler master build quality just pales in comparison to phanteks. Cooler Master is cheap and flimsy crap.

Why do case makers completely destroy their cases with these insanely stupid magnetic side panels? Case is DoA. Did humanity just get collectively dumber that people can no longer figure out how to turn a screw??? SMH.
