I hope this game succeeds and finds its unique voice, but whenever I see the Vanguard, esp. with the blue motif, I get a "we got Terran at home" vibes.
but then you complain about everyhuman race because this not rly plays like terran in sc2. by that logic terrans in sc2 are rip off space marines in warhammer
@@DaxRaider I've never complained about humans being different from SC2, and in any case, it's not the end of the world if they feel a bit similar, I still think the game can be great, they are still updating some unit styles and gameplay
Honestly it doesn't really feel like terran to play. The style he used this map is the most terrany playstyle, it's reminiscent of bio a bit, but Lancers feel a lot more protoss and so does the mech, especially with the nanoswarm from MedTechs, its just nothing like starcraft, it's more of a warcraft ability if anything. Hornets are a lot like SC1 scouts, in that they can harass, but are more meant as anti-air. It's a lot of mixed stuff. There's also some C&C stuff sprinkled here and there too, like the Graven's infiltrate ability that can disable/destroy buildings and steal money from bases.
I remember the creator of the Megaman series left Capcom to create his own lookalike game but it turned out terrible, and people have soon forgotten it. This is the same story.
I want a new RTS but this really doesn't look appealing to me at all even the graphics just seem so bad, SCII has better graphics from 14 years ago? everything looks to similar to me, all the units etc, or maybe thats because i just haven't got into it yet
I’ve seen maybe 10 SG games … seen almost no air or drops … and is there any stealth? Without air, drops, and stealth units the game is just so much less interesting than SC2.
There is air and there is stealth and there are drops. The game is very early so most players do pretty basic strats usually, as most people haven't figured out everything. Especially pros are reluctant to go for weird comps as readily as some other people, though I can assure you the plate of cheeses is already made, there's a lot of stuff I think FG will redesign especially with celestials.
Wothout trying to be harsh or bash the devs.... This is just crappy starcraft, straight up. To me, it really feels like literally every single thing about this game, from the race archetypes, the sounds, the unit and building design, the maps.... Its all just less appealing versions if what starcraft offers. Im sorry devs, i get wanting to make your own new game but.... This aint a new game. Its just starcraft with different names for things and worse graphics.
Damn this game looks soo lame. Boring, lame mechanics, units are dumb, slow, phone game graphic. If there is a hell, you get forced to watch "pros" play this game for eternity.
@@IsaacFNghost Frost Giants devs aren't going to sleep with you. This game looks, sounds and feels terrible. The entire concept is irredeemable and yes, their studio IS asking for the public's opinion.
1:20 the ramp seems to be bugged atm. There is a spot at the top of the ramp that doesn't grant vision either direction.
Totally agree about the water color on the map! It makes it seem like they are shrines or something you need to care about
Awesome match! Thermy really ran circles around this guy. The lancer+exo style just fits him like a glove.

No, you are right. This looks like a poor version of SC2. I will testplay Gates of Pyre in a couple of hours. Hope that will be better.

Lancer's movement animation is terrible, looks like its sliding instead of walking. This game is incomplete and artwork is poor.
Not super interested in it anyways, but that sound will 100% keep me from ever playing, so terrible.
