LJKS: "The great thing about low polar moment of inertia is also the worse thing about low polar moment of inertia". Glad you're OK. I did something similar in my Mk1 in Leeds town centre. :-/
@@threepotMR2 Thank you. I live few miles away from Aintree as well. Hopefully I’ll be able do some track days next year maybe. Cool videos, please keep uploading 🙏
@@dc2plus Helical diff in this one. I'd say it was a mix of crap driving, poor tyre choice for short sessions, and someone had dumped a load of power steering fluid round there.
Was at track day, Aintree car club need a kick up the arse for safety the track was a disgrace. Full of stone and dust. At the end of the straight the run off road was completely coned off ... ?? I asked a club official can they leave a few cones off in case of brake fade or other issue so a car could run off track safely and not wipe out the front of the car or another vehicle, and he looked at me as if was speaking French!! 95% off the drivers dont use mirrors and move over so you are stuck behind slower drivers hugging the left all way around the lap.. Will not be returning .. Unsafe place to drive..
I do think that metal armco retaining wall should have a tyre wall in front of it. Some old boy in a retirement group 4 single seater would come off alot worse that a kido like me in a tin box car.
this. Only crash I ever had was one where I'd spun and the other car was probably still close to 60 MPH. Spun me around completely. Nursed the car back to the pits, med checked us both out. Nothing to worry about. When I woke up the next morning it was as if nothing had happened.
@@americanAlienBoy How you feel when you wake up the next day is the ultimate conclusion. In my experience, being fine after the crash doesn't mean you're going to be fine once you've slept.
Crazy how your visor got completely smashed off! .. love it that you start the engine again almost straight away!! Hope your neck is OK!

Gutting to see that. I track a MK1 and dread that happening, sometimes itll let go and you just know there is no chance of getting it back 😢
Ohhh glad you are ok mate 🙏. any Idea what went wrong? I’m no expert, just out of curiosity. Too early on throttle?
Just trying to get too much power on to early I think. The slick tyres were cold too so there wasn't alot of grip.

Inside tyre spin I think. Presuming you don’t have a clutch type lsd

This is true, and its on my list. Along with a halo seat. Still feel pretty stiff and achy 3 days later.
Got such respect for MR2 drivers who drive on the limit because really this can happen at any time and there’s zero weight on the front to correct it
