      I'm glad you like the video. My highlander has 335K miles on it and it is still my daily driver. Mine has some issues now (some leaking fluids that I top off by-weekly), but for a 15 year old vehicle with that many miles on it, I couldn't have asked for a better one. Also, it is kind of like family. When I get a new one, I doubt that I'll get rid of this one, I'll probably just use this for a work type vehicle still. Sorry I got off on a tangent there for a minute, but the cargo carrier with ramp has worked well for me when I didn't want to have to get my 14' trailer out for something smaller like my snow blower or a couple of coolers or stuff like that.

    Thanks

    • @ReichpoloTech
      @ReichpoloTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am assuming that you are asking if I can put the carrier into the hitch receiver by myself and you are not asking how to install the hitch receiver on to the vehicle. I am able to pick up the carrier by myself, one of the reasons that I got the aluminum one. I put the ramp in the up position and put the pin in it. Then I generally will grab from the top, the part that the cargo sits on, between the squares with one hand on each side, about 10" from each end, and lift and balance the carrier and slide it into the hitch receiver. I hope this helps. Have a great Holiday. Thank you for your comments.

      @@ReichpoloTech Thanks. That makes sense with the light weight aluminum. I found a great deal on a 27" Brigg & Stratton blower after accepting to take over several residential and commercial snow removal accounts from a gentleman preparing to retire. Couldn't pass up a good deal and I decided I'd figure out the transport aspect of the job down the road. Had the same idea to use the hitch mount carrier with a 500lb capacity. But the Harbor Freight carriers weren't wide enough. Found a steel carrier online (also at a great price) but the TH-cam video shows it being hitched up by 2 people, one on each end. My thought is I'll need to set the carrier into two floor jacks raised to the receiver level and gently slide the hitch into the receiver. I'm expecting the delivery today. Looking forward to updating you on how that works out. Any other suggestiins out there are welcome.

    The big name company in my state use hitch carriers that are expensive and maybe more than what I need. They have the ones that carry the big ride on spreaders and aerators , im not on that level yet.

      @ReichpoloTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know if it rattles when nothing is on it, because I only put it on when I have stuff to put on it, otherwise I remove it. I haven't paid much attention to if the handles stick out past the vehicle much. I will say this, I don't think it's much if it does, because I am normally pretty aware of stuff like that. I am very used to pulling a 14' tailor with my mowing equipment on it. So if it looked strange or excessive, I would notice it out of my mirrors when driving. I hope this helps.

      I don't think that the fence around the outside of the top does anything, personally. I certainly don't rely on it keeping my cargo in it. I strap mine down with the ratchet straps from the eyelets. My snowblower doesn't even touch the top fence part. If my straps broke and it slide against the fence, I don't feel like the fence would keep it on, it would likely break. All of that being said, I have never tried it without the fence on there, so I don't have personal experience with that.

    I’m not sure why you installed the ramp on the left instead of on the right side. You said it was because the handles hit the ramp. Well they wouldn’t hit the ramp considering that you backed it up the ramp. It’s that said, if your broken down on the freeway, highway, tollway, expressway or road. Your way will will be more dangerous to unload because your putting your self in harms way of traffic. That the reason why all Busses,R.V’s, travel trailer’s and cargo trailers with a side door always are on the right hand side of the vessel.

    • @ReichpoloTech
      @ReichpoloTech  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Marc Tompkins I did it that way because I did not ever want to have to unload on the side into a snowbank. I just unload and then put the ramp right back up. But I also never park in a heavy heavy traffic area when I need to unload it.

    • @ReichpoloTech
      @ReichpoloTech  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If I had to unload in a really high traffic area I would just sit cones out temporarily for a moment. And then put the ramp right back up. Honestly there are advantages and disadvantages for both ways of installing that ramp.

    • @marctompkins3001
      @marctompkins3001 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ReichpoloTech I completely understand the unloading issue and having to deal with a snowbank. Where I was going on the other issue. We don’t plan on flat tires, or needing a toolbox. But do you have access into the back of your vehicle, via the lift gate? That’s why I mentioned unloading into the edge of the traffic lane. If it can go wrong, it will. Im disabled and I bought one of these for carrying my power scooter. Are you happy with yours? Is there anything that your not happy about?

    There is a problem with these carriers. The problem is the weight and tork that is put on the hitch. The hitch has a 300lb tongue weight. Now if you have a 250 lb tool or chair and it bounced it is exerting 500lbs on the hitch in a twisting motion. Not made for that kind of weight
