    I approve of your "window smithing". Looking good!

    Its crazy how many times you have to refit and recheck before its finally in the right place. I learned that the hard way the first time I welded a panel an inch off. Nothing Is permanent until the very end!

      as long as you're willing to keep cutting and welding todo es posible!

    After your extreme roof replacement, it has to feel incredible to have that fit confirmation from the louvered window! Looks fantastic and will definitely be referencing this video when I go to rebuild my louvered windows!

      It was certainly a big relief. Now I am just waiting on the back order windshield seal to test out that fit!

    It was so satisfying watching you clean those glass window strips without snapping one. It so unusual to see young people demonstrating that level of careful dexterity. 🙏 live long and prosper dudes! 🖖

    Great video. I found using fine steel wool on dry glass is an awesome way of removing the old crud on glass. It's also made great way to clean a windshield of bugs before applying a glass treatment. Steel wool Must be dry though. The glass is super smooth afterwards.

      @@VangabondersA little at a time - it will come together. Thats what I keep trying to convince myself of. Just spent more time and agony then should have been possible fixing a rear vent window and getting the glass in place

    Great job on the window even though I can't stand those things!! I find them unsightly, they rattle (maybe not as much when rebuilt) and they obscure my vision. Thanks for another great video!!!

    • @Vangabonders

    If you cut the corner off the glass seal they fit better and a little easier to put together.

    • @Vangabonders
      @Vangabonders  ปีที่แล้ว

      I did try that on one and it worked but I felt like cutting the seals was a bad idea, but honestly I don't know how much water would get through that part of the window either way

    damn good job, I did my otter seals and looked at the work needed for the inner seals and said "Nope". I hand / dremel polished all my aluminum, and I wish I would have found that boat aluminum acid. Overall though my Jalousies look "okay" but not as brand new as yours. Maybe I will do this repair but probably not until I want to go through the pain of repainting my bus. Also be careful installing your Jalousie after you paint because they have sharp corners and can easily scratch your new paint job, ask me how I know.

    Well done, that was quite the process. Quick question. Are those windows more sought after than a regular window. ??? I have both so 2 options

    • @Vangabonders
      @Vangabonders  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not sure if they are more sought out but I certainly like them and found them very useful when I lived in this bus

    Great video ! I’m currently trying to do the same I’m on the rebuild started trying to get the 3 windows built back up but can’t get the window frame to go back on with the glass and seal it’s super tight and the glass feels very thin ! Any suggestions?

    Quick heat with torch and pb blaster will get out screws as well may take 3 or 4 tries just don't strip the screws. Not that I'm disassembling a window as I watch this. Ps polishing a 50 yr old jalousie window sucks alot !!! Damn nooks and crannies
