I love that most shops are still closed on Sunday in Germany. It makes everything so peaceful and creates a delineation for each week instead of every day just running together.
Good point. I think there are still areas of the US (Bible Belt, perhaps Utah) where most stores are closed Sundays. Some nationwide companies run by religious folks are closed on Sunday: Chik-Fil-A, Hobby Lobby, and Michael's, to name a few. It can be a bit inconvenient for those of us who work all week, but at least the employees have a standing day off.
A recent study in Deutsche welle showed that the majority of Germans considered religion unimportant. Of course it was less important in the East where Christianity was driven out by Communism, but still, only 33% of Germans in general considered faith even remotely important in their lives. If the stores are closed on Sunday, I doubt it's related to religious significance anymore. God designed that day for rest, but now man thinks it was his invention to recover from Saturday night!
Soon all shops will be closed on Sundays. The worldwide Sunday Law is coming. In Germany it is Sunday Law since the WWII . I remember when I was a Child that Sundays all shops where closed. Just wait for it, for it will all be part or the greatest lie of mankind.....the Global Warming when it is actually cooling or getting colder !! Look at the weather in the Northern Hemisphere .

They are called Pygmy owls. They are mini owls. My husband built a bird house with our girls & one day we had Pygmy owls living inside, we live in TX. It was really cool. It’s considered good luck in England and Ireland but in Italy it is bad luck to see an owl.
Because occult and satanic cults use an owl for their symbol, e.g. Bohemian Grove in the US. Personally, I enjoy when they are in my yard, hooting to one another.

No worries, GIV I enjoyed it. I lived in Germany for 6 years and Sunday was always quiet, even the bar's never opened until around 4 in the afternoon. I lived in Oerlinghausen for 3 years and Munster for 3 years and enjoyed every moment.

Gelderner Glockenspiel they are known for it. It's a lovely old or medieval town already existing in the old Germainia . Great video, would have liked to see more.
I guess that's why they hold those things usually in the summer. At least you are not in California where we are having non-stop rain, and flooding and rock slides in some areas. Power is flickering off and another big storm is coming in a day.
I enjoyed seeing the blacksmiths brooches and keys, the animals; $3 . 30 for apple juice is what one would pay at a convenience store in many cities and more at a festival; the owls seems so calm.. it seems German dogs are more introverted.?. in the USA dogs love to meet new people. I wonder if different cultures influence the pets? That German atmospheric music was .... different .. is that very German?... haha the lalala at the end! :)
