Hey Jeremy and John, you've made my day. A friend sent me the link, and it was a welcome breath of fresh air to hear you guys with such a refined version of our song, on my fifth day of covid. I've feeling better, but really it was a treat to hear what you're doing with the song, and those two pretty obviously outstanding instruments. I love my OM-21, but my fingers can't make the pull-offs and hammer-ons like they used to. Cindy covers for me, and she's a pretty solid finger-style player. Thanks again for the fine version of the song.
Thanks so much for watching, we're really glad you enjoyed our version!
That is such an amazing compliment. I've loved this song for so long. I wish my performance on this particular cut was better, but thank you so much for such an incredible song.
@GilletteSteve1 Hope you recovered and are back at things. Your epic song has long been a favorite of mine -- as in decades -- I grew up on the Great Plains. I recall once you talked about how some medical issue with your sister was the spark for this little geography lesson of a song. I wish you well.
John Denver on Poems, Prayers and Promises.❤❤ Beautiful rendítion. I will be following.
Lots of comments on the Atkin and rightfully so but Jeremy sounded splendid as well on that Bourgeois!
Thanks, that’s super nice!
Wow! That’s the first time I’ve ever heard this song. Fantastic.
I absolutely love all of your videos I GET THE CHANCE TO WATCH ! GOD BLESS !
One of my favorites! First heard Ian and Sylvia's version waaaay back in the '60s. Been playing it all these years. God job gents.
My first exposure to the song as well.
Beautiful indeed!
John, your vocal and guitar are masterful on this one. Jeremy’s mandolin really adds a lot to the composition!
You can't beat a good cheerful song! Beautifully done gentlemen.
Lovely job guys. That's an excellent A Style mandolin.
I cant believe how talented they are. I originally knew them as the awesome acoustic guitar shop I wanted to buy everything from
Amazing job guys 👏👏👏
I saw the heart of earnestness in you as you sang and played this lovely tune. That too is how I feel about many songs that move my heart. God bless you. I loved it. That Atkin guitar sounded like it was twice that size!!
Great song written by my friend Steve Gillette! Nice rendition by you guys!
Oh, man. Steve Gillette's first Vanguard record is the gold standard! Nobody ever did it better. I saw him open for Gordon Lightfoot in 1969 and it was one of the most beautiful evenings of my life. Say hi and thank you!
Absolitely gorgeous tune. You guys have made me a fan of Bluegrass.
That's awesome to hear!
Thanks!
Thanks so much for the tip!
That was incredibly beautiful.
Fellow Missouri dude Irl Hees has a killer version of this he’s done for years.
Awesome thanks John and Jeremy.
Fantastic playing and singing. Thank you for this video.
You boys are simply AMAZING Musicians !
That was wonderful!
This was was wonderful!
Excellent tune 👍🏻
Fabulous version.
I absolutely love this arrangement. So tastefully done.
The first time I heard this song was when my brother Warren Blair was a member of the Bluegrass Cardinals.
Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas. This was definitely an early gift for us all.
That was amazing guys. And that guitar sounds ridiculously good.
35th subscriber LIKE, 161st listen-view; my ears are smilin'.
That 'adi' top just loves to sing, don't she?! I think you can see her grain grin from space.
I Love the style and touch. Excellent harmony addition with the mandolin.
That Atkin sounds incredible. Wow.
Incredible as always thank you both
Wow that Atkin sounds so beautiful! Great job!
Absolutely masterful! Exceptional playing and dynamics. The years of playing together allow us a stunning tribute to a beautiful song guys. Much love from Nashville!
Great job guys. As Jeremy said it's the best one yet, the Atkin and Bourgeois sound great together. A song well done. Thanks a lot.
Beautiful
Just what I needed ! So beautifully done, you two never disappoint. Thanks for the feed good!🤠
What a great song!!! Well played, brothers!!!!
I don't think that Tony Rice ever recorded this song but if he ever did, it would have sounded a lot like your version, at least to me.
Well done Boys!
He did--with his brothers on Rice Brothers 2. That whole album is worth a listen. Some of Tony's best recorded singing IMHO
Thanks. I will look for that recording.@@JPMGuitarPicker
Nice!
Beautiful music made by two stylists. Thanks.
Love this tune! Picked it out from a John Denver album when I was learning to play guitar back in the ‘70s. Love your rendition!
You all show some great guitars on the channel, but I'm consistently impressed with the Atkins. They just have such a sweet sound. Do you guys know if Atkins has ever used tapered bracing like the 40's-ish era Martins had?
Thanks guys ❤
Awesome!
Oh my goodness, how wonderful was that? Thanks, guys.
Makes me wonder if I got the right Atkin! Dang that guitar sounds good.
Nice distinctive version!
Tony Rice did an anazing version of this song
Very nicely done. Bravo, gents! Is that the one and same Essential D you shipped out to me last week?
I believe so, yes!
== You know. You sing pretty good. Wow. ===
I need a Sirius XM Chapman music channel
wow nothing sounds quite like those Atkin guitars.
Only one thing missing. Your old D18.
Please do Knoxville Girl
We can absolutely put it on the list!
Thanks!
Thanks so much - we really appreciate the tip!
