    Love the way they recovered from the early solo. Made it twice as nice. Sweet indeed. :-)

    That is Steve Weisberg, John Denver's guitarist for years, playing lead guitar with Roy. They sound great together. Sorry to hear that Steve left us a couple years ago. God bless him.

    Nice, he has JD's tonal qualities. A little too much vibrato IMHO.

    John was a GREAT singer/songwriter, humanitarian, conservationist, all around wonderful human being; I too was a fan. I think if John were hear today (Roy Rivers, if that's your name) he (John) would tell you be yourself, don't be me, don't dress like me, do not try to imitate my voice, you can't come close to it, although it is the greatist form of falttery, your trying to hard. If you want to sing his songs do it in your style not his...

      I've known Roy for many years. He has never ever tried to imitate John. He's made it clear to every manager and booking agent that he will NOT do impersonation. He connected with Johns songs when he was a teenager because he believed in the same things John did and it's why he started playing guitar. But his voice is his alone it just happens to be similar. :-) He does a ton of his own music, having written well over two hundred songs. one of his own was a best-seller and on the top of the charts in Germany. I believe he tells the story on his tribute site of how he got started.

      I happen to know Roy, he is a great singer/songwriter in his own right, He had a #1 hit with Dolly Parton on the Country Charts in Europe as well as a #2 hit he wrote"What Are Love Is Not About" He is also a Tribute artist not a John Denver imitator. That happens to be Roy's voice. He's not trying to sound look or dress like John Denver. Steve Weisberg, John Summers and Dick Kniss who played with John Denver for many years also played with Roy here at Red Rocks. I think if John were alive today he would be pleased with people who keep his music alive, you should as well.

    • @aerie53
      @aerie53 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WillKruger I totally agree with keeping his music alive, it will indeed thrive on it's on without any help from impersonators. You, nor anyone else can't for one minute tell me this individule in not imatating John Denver, it is so obvious from his glasses to his mannerisms, to how he dresses to how he tries to pattern his voice to mimic Johns'.
      Look at some of the comments on this page; go ahead i'll wait. Well, what did you see? How about, "Thank you John-Roy Denver-Rivers " , "Nice, he has JD's tonal qualities. A little too much vibrato IMHO.", amazing.he has John Denver's voice.
      I could go on, but i'll leave it hear.
