Even if the predictions aren't accurate, Arlo's characterization of Nintendo's marketing is spot on.

He definitely knows Nintendo's patterns when it comes to how they structure Directs. I could realistically see a lot of this actually happening.

I love how specific Arlo gets. Like it'd be so easy to just be like "we'll get a new DK Country Game announcement" , but no Arlo gives us a plot, a reveal trailer, and a title, and it's beautiful.
I love that he also reviews the games that he’s making up and some of them are disappointing
totally paid off with the animal crossing new horizons prediction. I was convinced after that he was a clairvoyant.

That’s literally what I’m thinking, here’s my “theory”. Lions are known as the king of the jungle, and do you remember the design of the cages the waddle dees were trapped in? It was Lion themed. I think the leader of the beast corps is a Lion, and in the final boss, you’ll somehow end up fighting a reality warping Demi god.
It's just another normal day for Kirby. Another day, another oppurtunity to beat up a reality-bending, power-hungry monster, just because they did something like interrupt his nap, or take his food.

If Earthbound ever got a remake I’d really like to see it styled after the clay models from the player’s guide. I know I’m not the only one who’s said this, but it’s just too perfect.

I really like a lot of the ideas in here (especially the Peach Odyssey game), but I feel like the only one that actually has a chance of happening 100% is DK farting in the Mario movie trailer.

I am loving the more off-the-wall humor Arlo is giving us lately. The walk the dinosaur bit, the hat throwing, Seamus’s ship blowing up at the end of that really heartfelt video, he’s being weird and it’s hilarious and I love it. I love it so much that I stopped the video to come make this comment.

The Super Mario Movie will be accompanied by a re-release of the infamous Super Mario Bros. cereal. Mario Party Superstars will get some DLC in the form of more playable boards and possibly a couple more playable characters as well. E3 will see the release of Super Mario Kart Infinity, as well as a new Mario Paint game, possibly titled Mario Acrylic. We'll also see Zelda Maker and possibly a Zelda 1/2 remake. I'm still sticking to my guns on BOTW2's title, which will be Bridge To The Future.

Nintendo seems to be on a kick of reviving long dormant franchises recently (metroid, advance wars, pokemon snap, Famicom detective club) so i predict there will be at least one revival this year. Kid icarus would be the one that I'd like the most.

I love how instead of being vague and saying stuff like “there may be a metroid prime, probably” he’s fully trying to guess every little detail and thats way more fun to watch, and it’d be way more impressive if he’s right, especially for the crazier guessed like the Yoshi mobile game
i feel like even if he gets names and villains and all of the intricate details wrong, it would still mostly be right because he guessed close enough. like, what if instead of a yoshi mobile game, its like some hammer bro game lol? he wasnt %100 right, but to guess that they would do something crazy in that format is good enough to say that he was right.

That drained ocean idea really resonated with me for some reason. There are so many familiar settings for levels in platformers that have been done to death so a drained ocean sounds like a pretty fresh idea for an environment to explore.

Super Peach Odyssey is actually such a good idea though, although I think my idea is that we'll get a Super Mario Odyssey 2: Lunar Mayhem, which will satisfy the Galaxy 3 and Odyssey 2 crowds. I tried coming up with a description of what the game would look like but I don't have anything too good.

(It's okay, I also would not have predicted a whole new Pokemon generation. I likewise expected an Arceus DLC. But is there really a way to correctly speculate Nintendo's plans without divine intervention? Doubt it, unless you're Arlo with ACNH.)
My hope for this year is Kid Icarus Switch, even if it's unlikely.
Also I'd LOVE a peach-centric mario game, and an animated Splatoon series would be an instant buy of the NSO expansion for me.

God that DK game concept is INCREDIBLE. I hope that prediction is SPOT ON… for all us DK fans’ sake. The rest of the predictions were also great especially the Metroid stuff. I 100% agree with it.

Once again, Arlo has gotten me hyped for games that don’t exist (yet, ideally). Super Peach Odyssey and the Earthbound Beginnings remake would be jaw-dropping, screaming-from-joy moments for me if they actually happen!
If Mother 1 ever gets a remake (or if we get any Mother content on switch at all, like Earthbound on NSO) I’ll have a heart attack

Yeah that game needs a remake badly it has aged like ass. I beat it a few times,but the unbalanced difficulty near the end of the game and the obnoxious random encounters make it a game I will never return.

My random predictions for 2022:
1. Gen 9 Pokemon game late in the year taking place in a new region inspired by South America (which would later set up a Pokemon Legends Mew)
2. Astral Chain 2
3. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers remake
4. A new quirky horror-comedy-based IP in which you traverse the afterlife.
5. A 3D Yoshi game.
6. Pikmin 4, or at least a Switch remake of Pikmin 1 and 2.
Great ideas, I just don't think Platinum can make Bayonetta and Astral Chain at the same time. But as a Brazilian, I would love if gen 9 was inspired in South America.

@@Bramblestar9339 from a market standpoint, I still think Nintendo would make games inspired on Germany, Netherlands, Spain or Portugal before making it about South America. Nintendo hasn't really made an effort to sell games or systems on most of South America recently.

The design of the cages the Waddle Dees are trapped in show that the villain is probably gonna be a saber-tooth tiger, but the pig guy thing doesn't seem too far off actually.
One theme I recommend is looking into to predict Kirby plots is subtle details. The current director Shinya Kumazaki absolutely LOVES his subtle details. The cage design I mentioned looks to be a subtle detail.

I wanted to say this feels like fanfiction, but the Nintendo Directs this year have all played out like fanfiction. Nintendo has the best presentations.
I love how these end of the year predictions have just become basically arlo talking about ideas for games, like he's pitching these ideas almost.

Literally nothing that actually ends up happening can live up to that "Earthbound: New Beginnings" idea. A Mother remake would be AMAZING, especially with a cutesy artstyle, the more toy or claymation-esque artstyle fitting the the classic Mother series minifigures.

one prediction to add: there'll be a remake for fire emblem genealogy of the holy war that will be released in september 2022, it'll include some of the additions from three houses(like the batalions) and will feature a day-night cycle, where stronger enemies can appear depending on the time
Added prediction: The story will be rewritten to have Arvis not be blood related to Deirde.

With arvis and deirdre they’ll either fudge the family tree so there cousins, and/or kind of dance around it in the dialogue, not explicitly stating it, just alluding to it. Also with the day night thing, I assume you mean it changing over turns to help sell the scale of the maps. I think they do something like that but just mess with stats, like biorithim but for the whole map.

I think the only prediction as outlandish as Mother 1 being remade is that Nintendo will actually run two full directs within 3 months of one another.
I love the added detail of "entire-head-comes-off-when-he-talks" Shinya Takahashi bowing at the phrase "very well." (Also, yeah, spot on prediction; Takahashi WILL ask us what we think. It's becoming as much of a Direct staple as the late 'n' great |Directly|.

If Nintendo actually makes Super Peach Odyssey, I would buy it so fast. I've never bothered with day 1 releases, but I just might for this.
They'd need to really convince me they plan to do more with Peach, cause we've already had a role reversal game and it only highlighted further how much of a bland charachter she is. It was'nt like in Mario rpg where she had an actual personaility and was willing to sneak out if it meant helping Mario.

The only time I've ever liked Peach is in mario rpg where she was actually given agency and a bit more personality. Every other appearence she's completely bland and useless. It sounds ok. It could actually be better than Mario Odyssey, but probably not considering Peach is possibly the most “casual” of all Nintendo IPs, and the first Odyssey was already way too easy.
I have my fingers crossed for Galaxy 3, or something completely new.

I feel like a prediction for a new Fire Emblem reveal would be pretty safe. In summer of next year it will be 3 years since Fire Emblem: Three Houses released, 4 years since it was revealed, and Fire Emblem games often release with 2 or 3 years in between. If the new game were to be revealed next year, and like Three Houses, released the next year, it will be four years since.
Yeah I’m personally really shocked he didn’t include an FE prediction considering the FE cycle of 2-3 years and he even mentioned he made a prediction last year about it.
If it's a remake, it's going to be a remake of FE7 but in the middle of Lyn's story, Mark (AKA The player character) will be knocked out and wake up to see... ROY?! It's not JUST a remake of FE 7 but of FE 6 as well. The twist is that Mark is actually Morgan from Awakening, bouncing back and forth between the two games. There would be an option to play the games separately, but the new combined games will help fill in the gaps left by the two's original releases along with new chapters where Eliwood, Hector, and Lyn team up with Roy, Lilina, and Wolt (Retroactively made Lyn's son) to save not just Elibe of the Past and Present, but also of the Future!
(Yea, I know it got a bit fanfic-y at the end, but Citizens Unite really gave me an idea of how two games would interact with each other)
I'm looking forward to it. Now that they have an engine for the Switch I want to see an FE game that looks like a top shelf Switch title that also expands on the FE gameplay like 3H had

Imagine Nintendo revives F-Zero and just makes Arlo miss by one year his prediction. I don't really see Nintendo betting on old franchises for at least a couple years until they have time to pick new projects to follow Metroid's success.

Honestly, even if none of this ends up happening in any way, I always look forward to these videos just because of how fun they are!

If I could add to your “King K. Rool draining the ocean” idea for a new Donkey Kong, I have an extra suggestion: What if he did that to reactivate Krocodile aisle from Donkey Kong Country 2 which was submerged at the bottom of the sea! That would be AMAZING!! 😁

My predications
-BOTW 2 will be called Arm of the Ancients (going with the theme of Zelda games being named after the key item), November release. A big theme will be exploring 3 separate areas (much like skyward sword), except the areas will be much bigger and almost like 3 Separate maps: Hyrule Overworld which is similar to BOTW 1s map but has its differences and changes like new towns that were built, major areas like Zoras domain, and Gurudo village advancing and becoming more futuristic, etc. Hyrule Underground which is a network of caves that ganons power runs through, and Unbound Skies where the ruins of the Zonai tribe lie. Time Manipulation is also a mechanic and it will be most useful in the sky. Divine Beasts will be replaced with Zonai Trials and are more traditional dungeons. Link must clear the trials to harness the full power of his Zonai hand and defeat Ganondorf.
-The final Wii U game will be ported over and it will Be Xenoblade X making the entire series available on switch
-NSO will get 2 new consoles added. Gameboy games will be added to the standard subscription and GBA games will be added to the Expansion Pack. The Expansion pack will also be announced to include the Arm of the Ancients DLC (which will exist) Many future Nintendo dlc packs will be included here
-Splatoon 3 will be released in June and will be the biggest game in the series. We’ll get a huge new Inkopolis, and instead of a bunch of stores we’ll get an inkopolis mall that you can walk through. You can even invite friends to hang out in the mall, go shopping together, or play Minigames in a little arcade (stuff like claw machines for exclusive new weapons, or little collectible figures and stuff you can put in your new Dorm room in inkopolis. The game will also have a DLC story released in October called the “Undead Expansion”, where a mad scientist character is trying to create and clone an army of artificial inklings, but it doesn’t work out and they become Zombie Inklings. they go on a rampage through the Splatlands, and you have to stop them alone or online with friends.
-Pokémon Polished Platinum will be announced as BDSP DLC. It will be 30$ and include very little content for the price, basically just the distortion world, and Giratina. During the holiday season a bundle will also be released containing either game and the DLC on the cartridge for $90. Legends Arceus will get small free updates with no paid dlc.
-Metroid Prime 4 will get a trailer at E3, and a Trilogy pack will be released with updated graphics and Controls
-Super Mario Party 2 will release and be better than the original with 8 boards and new minigames, but not much more than that
-It’s funny how Arlo predicted a new DKC and I had an idea for a story that was incredibly similar to his for a while. I really like Arlos idea so I’ll use that and change the title to Donkey Kong Country: Kremling Kaos
-Mario Kart 9 will have a reveal trailer and be released in early 2023

I predict that Arlo will continue to be his amazingly wonderful yet frustratingly cynical grumpy old goofball self.
Also pie. I predict pie. It’ll be Nintendo’s weird secret running gag, all of the games they release in 2022 will have pie in them.
Also, I predict the Valve Steam Deck will add a bit of competition for Nintendo, so Nintendo may release a new Switch in the end of 2022 or 2023.
Earthbound, Starfox and a Xenoblade announcement? That would be an awesome 2022 for me!

I predict that the sequel to the "Mother" remake, "EarthBound: New Beginnings" will be "EarthBound: The Giygas Wars" or something like that...
"Mother 3" could possibly be released internationally as "EarthBound: Epilogue" in the future, because Shigesato Itoi never planned on making a fourth game in the series...
