So grateful for the amazing people I've met in my journey through Philippines, I traveled solo, but I never felt alone thanks to the locals. This is just the beginning :)
Mabuhay!
Halo Halo can be eaten in 2 ways:
You can eat the ice cream, ube, leche flan (jelly like cake) and other stuff one by one to enjoy and explore their invidual flavors or you can mix them all. The latter is the normal way of eating it since mixing all the ingredients makes a unique taste. That is why it's called Halo Halo which means "Mix Mix", you need to mix them all. Enjoy your stay. Keep safe kaibigan (friend)!
Glad to see that you are enjoying your interaction with filipinos....
New sub here. Enjoy your travel... And our culture❤
Nice to see you in manila
The halo halo should have been eaten by mixing and digging to the bottom. I'm felt sorry you weren't told by the waiter the traditional way of eating it
I'm happy to see you experience the world-famous “ Filipino hospitality. “ As a Pinoy, I am so proud of my kababayan. They consistently showed how kind and genuine they treat foreign visitors as family members. I suggest immersing yourself and your vlogs in our culture, and I guarantee you will be rewarded.
100%
I wish I could sit next to that couple so they can feed me too! 😂 Filipinos are really hospitable and they'll feed you if you say you're hungry...and during fuestas you can literally go in any strangers' house and they'll feed you especially in provinces...You should go to Panggasinan and see the hundred islands.
Such a lovely couple!!
Sure...me and wifey frequently have our Sunday breakfast at Sidcor weekend market. It is where you can find various Filipino food and some foreign cuisine. I am glad that PK seated with us. We have a chance to introduce our local food to him.
You will never regret visiting Philippines you will feel loved and a home here. We definitely love foreign people and we're easy to chill out, most of the people here can speak english as well. You will not have a hard time to talk to locals.
Love it!
The Philippines is a country full of love and kindness. 💙 keep safe po
Thank you po!
Philippines is dangerous for foreigners and as a foreigner you are never truly accepted or treated equally
Philippines is a country full of pagpag and slums
Also dont forget its a place of corrupt, judgmental, and nosy people, packaging the trait as being "hospitable/caring". DONT FORGET THE TOXIC TRAITS OR PH WILL NEVER MOVE FORWARD AND STAY BEING POOR.
HALO HALO so yummy! Filipinos have the best hospitality in the WORLD! Enjoy the beautiful Philippines!
💯💯 😊
Sir the place is called “Little Quiapo” pronounced as Ki-ya-po a place in Manila where the famous Quiapo church is located at. Halo halo means “to mix” the waiter is probably telling you to just eat some of the portion on top so that you can mix the rest to get the perfect bite! The yellow cake is actually leche (milk) flan, a custard like dessert added to the mix and the potato you tasted is plaintain (cooking banana) or saba. As a street food its usually deep fried with brown sugar. You’re in my part of town and I frequent Sid-cor quite often to buy plants. The yellow rice you ate there is called “paella” (pa- el - ya). Its originally a Spanish dish because the Phils. was colonized by the Spaniards for 300 years. We adapted their words and food as well. The creamy dish you tasted was ginataang langka or unriped jackfruit with coconut milk and the rice ball is called puto. A snack usually eaten with dinuguan or pork blood stew. I’m thinking since you resisted tasting the roasted pork belly you must be of Muslim descent. Its ok to tell people if you are Muslim because in the southern part of our country called Mindanao, a lot of Muslims reside there. Infact in Quiapo area theres a Muslim mosque as well as Muslim vendors in the area. I’m thinking you are either of Arab descent or Italian. If I’m mistaken I apologize. Thats how you look to me atkeast. Enjoy Manila! 🎉🎉🎉
Wow! Thank you so much for the explanation ☺️
After eating the ice cream on top, you have to mix it... halo halo means mix mix.. love how you mingled to the locals...be safe..❤❤
Thank you Norita!
It means to mix and not mix mix for there's nothing in the English language such word as mix mix. To mix or variety and that is what it means
@@richardnuevo👍🥇

Unique, because that is.very much a filipino one
That is Filipino people, they can even ask you to go into their house to join them or eat with them.. Have fun and enjoy the Philippines
Warm hospitality! 😄
Why is it that its always a filipino praising their country in comment sections 🤪. Unlike other countries like thailand or indonesia which are rather more humble despite getting much more tourists. Its a pity Filipinos are so desperate for admiration. Too much misplaced pride maybe.
I am glad to see you enjoying Phils. I am here in Canada, I came from Cebu. You went the right time in Cebu. And eating halo-halo.
Hahah fellow Canadian!!
I have some associates here in texas usa, everytime we go on our lunch break, they used to give me their food! Theyre so generous! And their food is really yummy! Nice people and so generous

Thank you!!
You may eat the ice cream on top sir or you can mix it. Ideally you must mix it Sir, Halo halo means you literrally mix all the halohalo ingredients. The flavor will be better.😂
Very interesting dessert!
Halo-Halo literally means Mix-Mix...
A mix of everything and at the same time... you need to mix it as well and make sure you go deep, sometimes they put the sugar /sweets at the bottom.
Hahah it's pretty interesting getting so many different flavors in your mouth all at once with different textures as well
Oh goodness, its 8:33 pm and I'm literally calling the cafes here to see if they're open for a cup of halohalo! ☺️🐢

You need to mix the halo halo (except the ice cream (optional), which is what the waiter said). "Halo" literally means "mix". So mix mix! 😁👍
Langka is a jackfruit, loaded w/ antioxidants, fights off cancer too. Ripened langka is also the best to eat.
I need to eat more jackfruit then 😁
Arroz à Valenciana or valenciana is a famous food in my province. (Negros Occidental).

I love halo halo 😊
Enjoy your day!!
Have a great weekend :)
The term "halo-halo" actually means "variety" or "assorted". "Mix-mix" is a misnomer based on a misconception; however, because mix-mix is the traditional way to eat it, it doesn't matter. Halo-halo supposedly originated from pre-war Japanese who brought with them a dessert called kakigori which is a similar shaved ice sweet, although kakigori has less ingredients than halo-halo. SImilar desserts can be found around the same region of SE Asia -- ais kacang or chendol from Malaysia, es teler from Indonesia, and che ba mau from Vietnam. I think Thailand has tub tim krob but that is traditionally a red dessert whereas halo-halo can be a multitude of colors depending on the ingredients which can both be random and eclectic. The other iced desserts in the Philippines are maiz con hielo, sago't gulaman, and guinomis. Guinomis is interesting because people consider it a cross between halo-halo and sago't gulaman but it's closer to the latter.
that's are sweet potato, Tapioca pearl, banana, red monggo beans, jackfruit, white kidney beans nata de coco, all ingredients are caramelized except the jelly, white sugar and evaporated milk and the most important is crushed iced, that's the regular halo-halo the special is with leche flan and ice cream toppings to mix the halo-halo you have to eat the ice cream first, after that you have to push the spoon deep down into the glass then pull it up and push it down again continuously until you will notice that all the ingredients are mixed well and ready to eat i hope that my grammar is good
Greay video ❤
Glad you liked it!!
God Bless You SIr

Hahaha I expect you to have some snacks and coffee in hand for the next vlog 😂
That’s my Favorite Jackfruit with Coconut Milk so Yummy 😊 😊
You may start eating the toppings in your halo halo & then eventually, mix everything & enjoy eating it & drinking it.
The yellow like cake in halo-halo is a Caramel Flan and the potato taste like is a caramelized banana. Enjoy exploring Philippines!
The waiter whom you asked for help didn't quite understand you. Halo-halo from the name itself means mix-mix😁 So the way to enjoy it is to mix everything first before scooping each bite😄 When its brimming you can scoop out and eat a little of it before mixing😁
Haha yes I think there was a misunderstanding 😄
Actually during those times is our version of ice cream,
Palabok is our spaghetti version.
My favorite also Halo Halo, you mixed first before you eat the Halo halo
Halo halo means mix mix so you need to mix everything so you can eat all in one but up to you how you wanted to eat ...enjoy eating😊
Thank you po! ☺️
Hope you visit my hometown in Laguna soon !!!! Anyway I like this video I like your blog!!!!
Hopefully 1 day! 😁
@@Travel_chronicles i’m just a phone call away. I mean im just a chat away. Let me know if you have plans to visit again the Philippines. I will give you a tour in my hometown Laguna.
Paella and paella su tinta sometimes called paella negra....so lucky they have a good sunday market.
So delicious there ☺️
There's no wrong way of eating that halo halo. Any ways are correct 💯🥰
"There's no wrong way of eating" hahah that's what I like to hear 😆
Then you're wrong.
No, you should mix it all together. Need bigger jar, so you can mix it. Halo halo mean( mix) Toppings( sweet potato, different kinds of beats, yum Ice cream which is the purple one, Young Coconut, jelly, etc.
you need to mix all the ingredients together and i think its a sweet potato or kamote in tagalog. enjoy to taste our filipino food.
halo halo literally meaning mix mix. so it’s really up to you how u wanna eat it, but best to really mix it up to blend in all the flavour and melt the crushed ice to be able to slurp them up lol
♥️♥️♥️
When eating halo halo or mix mix you suppose to mix everything from top to bottom. That’s why we called it halo halo ( mix mix) you have to mix it together so you could taste the different flavors. I think the waiter wanted to say that you have to eat the ice cream first before you mix.
In Halo Halo first you have to mix everything together very well from the bottom to get real flavor and aroma of it.
Halo-halo literally means "mix-mix". It's suppose to mix everything.
Enjoy Filipino kindness & hospitality 🇵🇭 🙏🏻💝
No it's not. Halo halo means a mix of different ingredients. I never mix my halo halo. To each his own.
When you say "halo halong paninda" it's not "mix mix items to sell". It's a "variety of items to sell".
@@glamalilhalo halo has different meaning. If you don't mix your halo halo well, you can't get the nice taste
You get the best flavor when its mixed,.that's how u eat halo halo the right way..
Thank you po! 😊
@@Travel_chronicles the guy you happened to ask did not give you the complete answer. Yes you can start eating the ice cream first so that it will give you some space to mix all the ingredients together. Halo-halo means "mix- mix". And it is best eaten when you mix it...... Enjoy....
Yummy Paella, Spanish rice dish
Paella is delicious!
If we meet you in a place like that, we will do the same...
And so many other Filipinos...thats our welcoming culture...
In spanish - mi casa es su casa.....what we have is yours...
The yellow rice you are buying is called PAELLA- a SPANISH dish.
Wow ive never seen somebody i know in your videos wow they are the owners of a company
Wow! Where's this at??
When you eat halo-halo you should mix it that's why it called it halo-halo it means mix-mix. But the first one the ube on the top you can it eat first then try to mix halo-halo so the flavor it will be more tasteful.
Appreciate it po!
halo-halo means mixed of everything, thats why you have to mix it before eating supposedly.
You can eat the ice cream and Leche flan separately and afterwards you mix the halo halo and the eat after mixing
I think the rice dish is called paella or arroz valenciana 😊😊😊
Halo halo is meant to be mixed in the middle part.. you eat small amounts first to taste each thing then halfway your done you are supposed to mix it and enjoy
