I want to share something with guys. Twenty years ago, I was going to a province for a vacation. My boyfriend and I rode a bus going to Batangas. We lost our way going to our hotel. The Filipina to whom I asked for direction offered us to sleep in their house because it was so late in the night and she knew we will not be able to find any place to sleep so she told us come with her and spend the night with her family. That woman had a very small
space but she tried to accommodate us. So gold

yes, Filipinos in general most likely don't have much in life but we give what we can. it is in our DNA. Many of us experience poverty and we know what it feels to have nothing. kindness is the way we express friendship.I live in the United States now and most of my American friends comments about how big my heart . I always help even though I don't have much. That's not to brag, but to say I brought my Filipino ways here. BAYANIHAN!!!

I had experienced being a first time "probinsyana" going to manila to get my prc id, i lost my way and got wet in the rain, i can't find a public transportation from PICC, then luckily i saw a jeep but it can't accommodate me a seat, i begged the driver even just let me in cause it's raining and it's getting late,5 pm, I still have to go back to Batangas. Filipinos inside the jeepney is so concerned about me, then most of them offered me to stay in their houses. 😊 Made me in tears, one girl even bring me to the train station with shared umbrella. I'm not a foreigner but i had experienced Filipino hospitality. Gold people. Proud of being a Filipino.

As I've said here: you just have to ask. Try it sometimes, especially when you're in the Philippines stranded and vulnerable in a remote rural area. You'll even be surprised when you're asking people from the squatters' area where they have practically nothing to eat; and other places that's considered by many as dangerous :-) Yes, even in places where the police are afraid to go. I wish you can go out more and truly make meaningful and more important "Life Discoveries" so you can experience the goodness in people, any people :-)

Unlike for foriegners, we know so well that they dont have anybody around but we must welcome them to show our culture with open arms. And mostly Filipinos who work abroad understand the feeling of being alone in another country.

Filiipinos are the kindest people on the planet. They are always willing to help in any way they can and are also very happy and always smiling, it's infectious and makes me happy too. You don't need to be there long to feel welcome and have people chatting to you and that's why I love the Philippines.
