    Steve, I just want to thank you for all that you share on here. I bought this amp over the summer and did so in part because all that you have posted. I have only really downloaded your presets and some presets playing from Fender Play. I have wanted to really understand the looping process and this is a tremendous help. Please keep doing what your doing sir and God bless.

    Steve, you can also use the foot switch to control a set list that you setup, so you don’t have to put “your” tones in order on the amp. The trick is making the set list, and then selecting that set list on the AMP, and then those presets will be available on the foot switch in order 1 through whatever the set list has in it.

  • @scottrempel7243
    @scottrempel7243 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Steve - great demo! the explanations at in the back half of the demo were very helpful. I notice that you press the Dub button on the FS, but then might not play for a bit.... does the dub start when you start playing, or when you press the button on the FS. Looking forward to hearing more about the "how" of looping. Especially about how you lay in the dubs, and the thinking around timing of the overdubs.

    • @SteveGuitar
      @SteveGuitar  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the good words, Scott! You know, that's a great question. I can't remember if you can click Dub at any time and start recording and if it just lets you start dubbing right then without having to wait for the loop to start again. I think that's how it works. This weekend, I'm going to film a long (30-45 minute) geeky exploration of everything like that on the looper, for those that just want to watch someone fiddling around and answering hopefully every possible question. Then, I'll do shorter videos after once I know all the answers ;-) Sound cool?

    Hi Steve. A have an older model GT200 amp which came with the MGT4 footswitch. I really like this new footswitch and am wondering if you know whether I can use the GTX7 with the GT200, while still maintaining all of the functionality of the GTX7?

    • @SteveGuitar
      @SteveGuitar  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, I wish I could give you the answer, but I’m not positive. I do know the four button foot switch works with the new GTX 50 and 100, but I don’t know if it’s the other way around. I guess the only way to know is to try, or you could ask some of the experts at the gearpage. Go to their digital and modeling forum and search for the GTX thread that is like 100 pages long or more. Lots of experts there!

    • @SteveGuitar
      @SteveGuitar  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, I'm not positive about this, but I don't believe it will work. I'd love others to chime in. But I think the LT25 uses a different 2-button footswitch (because the GTX7 has buttons for the looper and more). I'll reply back if I learn of anything else!

    Can this footswitch juggle between changing patches and turning individual assignable effects on/off in real time? I've been trying to decide between this and a second Boss Katana 100.

    • @SteveGuitar
      @SteveGuitar  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you click a button t switch from patch mode to effects mode (or looper mode), in which case the 5 buttons take on all new functions … on the fly.

    Thanks for the video, man. Due to I'm not a native english listener I'm still having one principal doubt about the 4 buttons switchfoot, and I want to resolve it because I'm considering buying it, so I hope you have a little time to help me. Basically I understand that you can set up 3 effects in each 3 buttons (lets say I choose button 1-Distortion, button 2-Clean and button 3-Tremolo). Here's my doubt: Is it possible to after using that set up quickly change it to another where the effects are others (for example: 1-Chorus, 2-Flanger 3-Phaser)? I need that function for live giging! I hope I express myself clear. Thanks a lot once again!

    • @SteveGuitar
      @SteveGuitar  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, thanks for watching and subscribing, and I understand your question. I currently have the new GTX7 footswitch, and it has five buttons. It also works for the older GT amps, not just the GTX ones. I have a four part video series that you can watch that shows it in action. To answer your question, yes, you can switch between five different presets, and each preset can have up to five different effects. So one preset could have chorus Delay Flanger overdrive and phaser, and the next one could have tremolo Delay and chorus. Check out this video and then click around to the series.th-cam.com/video/Md-R34QJX4g/w-d-xo.html
      Hope that helps, and thanks for subscribing!

    The new gtx-7 footswitch can be used with the GT 40 or other GT Amps?

    • @SteveGuitar
      @SteveGuitar  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good question, Andre. I don't know for sure. I'd be curious if someone else who has a GT could answer. But my guess would be yes. I know the GT40 worked with the old pre-GT 4 button footswitch, so I think Fender makes them somewhat cross-amp-platform.

      In Mexico the Fender MGT-4 4-button is sold out, demand is high and the price has gone up. However this 7-button model is much cheaper because many have not yet realized that with the software update can be used in the GT models, this comment has made me save something like 43 dollars, thanks!

      @SteveGuitar  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve never used the expression pedal. I’m pretty sure you can use the one fender sells for this amplifier but not sure if it’s at the same time as the other foot switch. Maybe check the manual?

    Does anyone know if you can use the footswitch with a different looper and still record the different effects? The footswitch only seems to work if it’s connected to the back of the amp which means I have to have the same guitar preset on each loop

    • @SteveGuitar
      @SteveGuitar  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Liam Cannell Great question. I will let others answer as well, but you can only plug these fender footswitches into the back of the amp. You can use another looper pedal in between your guitar and the input jack on the top of the amp, but then… Yes, all of your loops go into that one preset, so you can’t change tones. That’s really the beauty of this footswitch being built into the amp. You can record clean track with no delay, for example, and then add in a high gain lead tone and more effects on the second loop, then do something different for the third.

    • @liamcannell1859
      @liamcannell1859 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Steve Guitar thanks for the reply! So that means if I want to use a different looper like one of the boss ones (the fender footswitch one is great but sometimes I like longer than a minute) I have to accept that I’ll only be able to hear one preset across all loops when using that different looper?
