I just stumbled upon this tonight. How great is this. Thanks be to God; I've been looper scared and I have the GTX100 and have been hesitant to even try it. Love your clean playing on that mini. It sounds great. Blessings to you!!
Wow, thanks so much for the kind words. All glory to God! Glad you like the video, and I have a bunch more looper demos with the GTX here on my channel. Thanks for watching and sharing with others 😎 See you around! 👍
OK, number 1 with a bullet...end on 1. Man this is sooooo helpful. I have the fender and the pedal, and I started on drums so my timing is excellent, but I was ending on the 4! I am heading to a small gig and I want to loop a few things, this changes everything. Looping is a skill much like guitar itself. I need more practice but a little knowledge goes a long way. - Cheers
Nice job Steve. Been checking through the site and what you are doing is awesome. Recording loops, presets coverage, and recording tips. I've looked for a site like this for a while. I'll be up here quite a bit. I did buy the GTX-50 after having the GTX-100. Some issues with it so I'm going to try out another 50
Wouldn‘t it be great, if you could dive deeper into the looper of the gtx50 with the connect app on the ipad?! The big screen could be used to see and maybe even edit the wave files of your single loop tracks. An integrated basic mixer to alter volumes & effects. And of course they could easily integrate a quantizing function. It’s not such a complex software update :) Maybe you as an icluencer could shout that over to Fender? 🙏🏻 Keep on rockin’ Dude 🤘🏻
My loops weren't fluid with my GTX50. This was the answer I was looking for. Thank you sure. Subscribed and thumbs up and if I could I would do it 100 times! 🤣
Got mine this week and the looper is a bit clunky for me. It seems like it’s off but it’s probably me. I have other loopers and I never had this issue.
Great video, Steve. Here's a tip, something of which I had realized after I purchased the GTX50 amp. If you purchase the GTX100, the footswitch comes with it. Combine the cost of the switch with the GTX50, and you're close to the cost of the 100. Actually, I thought, at the time, I wouldn't need the switch, but oh was I wrong. Sometimes I need to think ahead. Hopefully Guitar Center and/or Sweetwater will soon have sales on the switch. Much mahalo for the video.
Mahalo! Thanks for the good words, and I agree that the foot switch is a must for this amplifier. I personally like the 50 because it sounds great and is smaller, but the foot switch opens up all the looper and control flexibility 🤙
@@SteveGuitar that's why I purchased the 50, size and sound. No need for the 100, actually for just playing at home. The footswitch is on my radar. Love to have the looper feature.
🙄 oh sure 👌👌😂😂 This might be a surprise, but my fav is the Boss RC 505, which I’m doing an unboxing and full demo of this week. Five tracks, built in effects, drum beats, and all sorts of control. I’ve got some crazy music coming out of it :-) But for a more basic looper, it doesn’t get any better to me than the Mustang GTX7 demoed here, because you’ve got five switches instead of just one on most other loopers (where you have to double tap or hold down and stuff like that), and perhaps most importantly, you can change tones for all of your loop layers. Whereas if you put any other looper in front of an amplifier, you have to have effects pedals in front of the looper as well. Sorry, didn’t mean to write a whole novel here :-) You can read all this out to your friend 👌😂
@@SteveGuitar Wow a $500 looper pedal. My friend might not be able to buy that(but only if his wife sees this post). Thought you might mention the RC-10r which I have heard mixed reviews on. I have the Boss RC-3 and the Trio Plus pedal. I've done the Strymon Big Sky and the Timeline and still have the Boss DD-500 and RV-500(wanting to sell both). I like what you can do with the GTX-100 and love the new footswitch. Thanks for the reply
Good question. For this demo, I was running the USB output from my Mustang amplifier right into my iPad, which was recording the whole thing using the screen recorder function. So it recorded whatever I did for 10 minutes. But, it doesn’t make a perfect little edited song. I would have to go in there and edit the audio file afterwards. Hope that helps.
Yes, but like all other amplifiers, you have to go in front… Into the input. So everything coming out of your looper will have the same effects that the amp has. That’s why I like the GTX 7. I can put down an acoustic track, and then layer on a distorted guitar, and the layer on a clean guitar with lots of delay or reverb or whatever.
@@SteveGuitar appreciate the response. It has an fx loop send & return on the back i would thought it could handle an external looper and layer different sounds, not just one. Thanks for clarifying it doesn't. this is a deal breaker for me unfortunately
I really appreciate this series on the Fender GTX-7 pedal. You have opened up this pedal to a lot of different uses.
Sorry I'm just seeing this. Thanks so much! Glad you've enjoyed the videos. See you around 😎

Thanks Steve! I just got a Mustang GT looper and needed these tips.
Me too! Got mine yesterday, and these tips are perfect to get started!😊
Really really nice work, great details and super nice chops too..
Awesome, thanks for the nice words! Glad you enjoyed it
I’m going to be getting my gtx100 tomorrow and I am so excited
Zach’s Studios awesome! Hope you enjoy it!
Steve Guitar I will very much enjoy it because of all the videos I have watched on your channel about it.

Boom! That’s awesome… keep me posted on how it goes from here 👍
Another great video Steve. I'm not ready for a looper yet and my BOSS ME-80 is supposed to have one, but I like the five pedal setup on your looper.
Thanks! I think it’s a great tool for guitarists of any level. Hope you get timing, rhythm, etc.… And it’s a lot of fun

12:55 I think it would be worth it to create a handful of presets that ARE panned to the left or right and switch it up between layers
What preset or custom setting were you using I haven’t plugged in my Taylor yet.
Damn! I love it!!
how do you save a loop on your computer ?

having a loop is my biggest dream
Hey Steve what has been your favorite looper pedal? Asking for a friend :)

My question is how do you bounce the loop from the amp to your Ipad or daw?

It is possible to use an external looper pedal into this amp?
Yes, but like all other amplifiers, you have to go in front… Into the input. So everything coming out of your looper will have the same effects that the amp has. That’s why I like the GTX 7. @@jayxpea The Mustang 3 v2 does allow a looper pedal in the effects loop/last in chain. Was hoping this did too. Yeah, could be a deal breaker.
