A cold case game from a series I have played before. Cheap, short, and easy?
I reviewed the first game in the series in a roundup posted in 2022: • Mystery Suspects / Col...

Just found your channel and am already obsessed with these games. I had seen a French review of Missing in the Caribbean, and then found you through your playthrough, which I did not watch because I bought it to play in an upcoming trip. So I decided to watch this video instead, and really loved it. I am not a newbie, in the sense that I am a boardgamer and have played many escape rooms and investigation games before, including Chronicle of Crimes, but never thought I would like so much these cold case systems and the experience they bring. So I bought the first 2 cases from Thinkfun, and thought I would start with those. Just wanted to mention that we played A Story to Die For this weekend, and it was incredibly fun. Yes, it was easy and we identified the murderer and explained most of the scenario, but we still failed 2 out of 4 questions initially. The first one was newbie error, and we quickly fixed, the second one was that we missed a detail and had to look for it, and when we found it, it clicked. So, really happy and probably addicted now. We have still to play the second scenario. Also, wanted to mention that in the Thinkfun homepage, they actually have the name of the authors, and furthermore, a quote that I really like about how the authors did not want their game to be like other investigation games where missing a clue may spoil the experience (or even worse, where even with all the clues we don't have all information to solve the game). Anyways, it looks like their games are easy by design choice, but the stories are good and engaging. Also lots of information in the page about the game development. I have since watched a few of your videos and subscribed, and am likely to join live sessions when time permits (I am in Spain). Nice channel and see you around soon.

Quick spoiler-free mini-review: Yes on the easy side, yes on the short side, but I liked the story, and I liked figuring out some of the unusual facts. The solution made sense and was enjoyable. Materials are good. Writing is good. I would have no problem recommending this case to beginners of the genre. -jesse
