  • Adventure Bio: This is one of my best visits to this lake. Colorado River Cutthroat are a top trout choice for me and some of these pre-spawn red underbellies are a dream come true. Bank fishing was hot and I barely stayed in my float tube because of that. I also scored my first tiger trout from this lake as well which is something I have wanted to achieve for some time!

That tiger was easily twice as heavy as any I've seen, nice.

Thanks friend. I think I’ve been there about 20 times and that was literally the first tiger I’ve ever caught there. Then I was rewarded with the second one and actually lost a third before I left.

I caught my PB Brook trout out of that lake 20+ years ago. there was some monster brooks in there. I am pretty sure they killed this lake off and made it what it is today. I have a picture of it somewhere. Its good to see that lake again. love the colors of the Colorado cutthroat and Tigers!

It’s funny we used to drive past there all the time to hunt deer. We have a cabin before the turn off to the river, and would have never thought it would become a cutthroat lake.
I actually never knew they were brookies in there. I just assumed rainbows.
