    When I'm on the fence about purging a plant, I'll give it a different chachepot and relocate it if needed. Oftentimes my feelings toward the plant instantly change because the plant looks tremendously better. Maybe giving your little white princess a cute cachepot might change your mind; I would personally keep her! 🥰🪴

      I, too would keep her but I do not like moss poles either. I don't like the looks of them.....to me they are ugly! In my opinion, when I had 3 of them I always had to fuss with them by adding to them (extensions) putting water in them a lot. I don't know it just wasn't for me. I'm just not competing for the big leaf club. I feel plants are like people. We all come in many sizes and shapes.

    Yes, I would keep it. It's little and cute. Give it a year or so and see how it does and then maybe decide if you will keep it or not.😊

    I used to get the stuck little
    Leaves on my Philo white wizard and pink princess. They were similar in size to yours, once they became more established, they stopped doing that. I am not an expert but I have read articles that it’s a sign of immaturity in the plant.

    I kept a plant I didn't like for 6 years. Finally got rid of it this year and I regret having let it waste space in my tiny apartment for so long.

    I had to laugh when you said “whip it back into shape”. Literally what I’m doing right now - giving glow ups to the plants I’m not loving. They have the summer to grow nicer and make me love them. I’m using stakes for my climbing plants. I give up on keeping moss poles damp.

    I purged (gave away) my two plants that really needed to be on moss poles -- Phil Pink Princess and Phil Silver Sword. Never having had climbers before, I thought that I could grow them without poles. But they just grew really janky and were CONSTANTLY getting stuck leaves. I don't like the look of moss poles and have no desire to maintain them. They just aren't for me. I gave the two away to someone who would fully appreciate them, which gave me more room for plants that I like a lot more.

    I’m glad I’m not the only one with ugly plants! I wish I had more time to try to keep them looking beautiful, but sometimes just keeping them alive is a victory! Theo seems to be a problem child! I’ve got one of those, too. She likes to annoy me thinking I’ll give into her demands to keep the peace, but at least she has never targeted my plants!

    I would totally keep the White Princess and put her on a Treleaf Trellis. They're beautiful! And they give plants who need a "Support Blanket" (so cute!) the support they need. And the B-Stock is a fabulous value!

    This was probably one of my favorite of your videos for some reason - starting with the level of guilt I may or may not have over my only 2 calatheas that I hoped might be more "fun" once growing season came (nope) and my birken that performs like a plastic plant. Then there's the rescue draceana variagata that I want to throw in the garbage. A few days ago I rewatched your video on cebu blue vs baltic and was thinking that I was going to buy one and you turn my plans upside down with this video. Then there was the look on your face and the eyes when you said of your adansonii "started doing weird things." (Mine totally bent and started growing back up the vine at about 2 feet.) A suggestion for your wenlandii....I have one and love the texture and color. It is not yet leggy but a pink syngonium I have does have those long stems. It looks so much better in a cache pot that is an inch or so taller than the nursery pot. It hides that legginess and makes it look fuller. Thanks for a great video with so much information!!! Yes, yes to a video about poles. I just got a Hawaiin pothos and a raphidiphora tetrasperma and stuck the pothos on a cococoir pole and the r.t. on a bamboo stick. Not sure about either choice.

    When I had my cebu blue trailing it did terrible. Leggy, and small leaves. I finally put it on a moss pole and it is really sizing up and looking really good. That was the trick. It also really helped my monstera adinsonii. 😊

    Shocked about the syngonium! I love the look of the Wendlandii as mature since it starts looking like my Goeldii at that point. Plus syngoniums are fine with a trellis or plank, not a hated moss pole. But I already have 3, so don't need another 😂.

    A lot of the plants that need a moss pole can easily be switched to a trellis or a bamboo stake if you don't want the upkeep of a moss pole. They won't attach but they'll have the support they need to grow bigger leaves
    I recently bought some metal chop sticks to support the smaller plants and they're reusable, there are also acrylic stakes on Amazon that work great too and won't rot

    • @AcrylDame
      @AcrylDame 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Coco poles are underrated. I Had Epipremnum and Monstera root directly into the coco pole.
      Also I once saw a video of a person that had ginormous plants and they were all on coco poles.

    • @jorlandia4363
      @jorlandia4363 29 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @AcrylDame yeah they work well especially if you have decent humidity. I dislike the way they look so I don't use them. That's why I was mentioning that any stake for them to have support will help whether it's bamboo, metal, acrylic, moss or coco. I've had some syngonium grab onto ladder trellis in the past, pants are pretty smart and figure it out once it's provided.

    I had never had any runners. Because my "plant room" is a large construction of black metal racks and stands. It takes a separated part of my living room intended to be a formal dining area. So I keep my syngoniums, Baltic blue, M. adansonii, etc on the top shelves with additional light in evening. They "running" horizontally without chance to root into metal rack, it just gives enough support to run further.
    I wish you could see my Scindapsus with leaves, size of my head but no runners.

    I have a Syngonium Wendlandii, or a variety of that plant, if there is such a thing and was quite bushy when I received it but now it’s growing tall and leggy and keeps putting out vines. In know it wants a pole but I wasn’t planning on that and wanted it to be bushy. Well after seeing your plant I don’t think it’s going to happen. Maybe my plant is not getting enough light, but I doubt it, I’m just going to keep cutting off the vines and see what happens.

    Interesting video. Often I fall out of love with plants If they refuse to grow or grow very slowly.
    My Epipremnum Pinnatum Variegata rooted into a coco pole and as soon as it did the leaves started getting bigger and fenestrated. No moss pole required for that one.

    Ok I can relate! I had 4 different pinnantums growing in some hanging pots in the window and I hated them. They’re stringy and just plain ugly. I literally just took them all down and put them all in one pot so they can fend for themselves. 😂

    Hey Drea! Heading to a plant swap today! Getting rid of more philodendron as I just don't love those besides for nostalgia. P.S. I still love my Baltic, but have the same problem. Thinking of just cutting it all the way back to where it was fenestrated and just maintain at level of the big Trealeaf trellis I have it on.

    I suppose getting rid of a plant depends on how much grief it is giving me or how much money I spent on it. I have chunked plants out the door because they do not grow, they are always complaining and I cannot figure out what they are complaining about because they don't need water or anything. If a plant is causing all that frustration it needs to go in my opinion. Sometimes I give them away

    I do believe plant purges r therapeutic but just haven't been able 2 take that step yet. 2 much guilt that I don't want 2 deal with! My Addonsonii just gets crispy leaves that fall off so I'm left with a bunch of stems that can't/won't grow, so over it but my guilt says; "what if?" Sigh.
    I love ur syngonium & don't mind moss poles & I know u have several plants that u sell @ ur pop-up sales that rn't available on ur site, that I have wanted 4-ever!
