Thanks for the info on the wood burner! We are looking at our options as we planning to build in the future. Since we have plenty of wood available to us, seems like a no brainer. Really nice set up! We will be watching
Yeah having plenty of wood to burn is the key. If you’re looking to heat more than one building then I think it’s worth it. One fire and you’re good to go. More cost up front but easy and piece of mind. Thanks for coming along.
Good video 👍 I know close to nothing about hydronic systems but you are putting it in terms that I can understand and give insights from your experience. Thank you for sharing 😊
Yeah I may not always use the technical terms that the professionals use. But I know what I’m talking about. At least most of the time. A lot of research involved with this system. Lots of trial and error. But I’ve got her pretty dialed in now.
"Pumping Away" by Dan Holohan was my first great hydronic book i got. It convinced me on automatic 3 way mixing valves and the importance on return temps going back into any boiler and using high temp water supply in low water temp areas....then i got hooked on primary/secondary pumping...Supply House is my fav online toy store. Lol Keep up the great work
Yeah I have read a few of those. I do like reading and learning from the experts. It’s really nice when things operate efficiently. Makes everything run less and cost is then minimal.
Yeah it can be complicating. There’s a lot that goes into when designing a system like this. Especially if you want it to work properly and efficiently. I love figuring stuff like that out. Not only does it save me a ton of money by doing it myself. I learn a lot. I feel if you are not learning something all the time your brain will just decline. And yes I will try and keep them coming.
Hey which pallet forks do you have? Also what would you say would be the adequate lift capacity for lifting totes of wood for front end loader on a tractor?
New Pallet Forks In The Woodyard th-cam.com/video/TUhl0Zi3wDs/w-d-xo.html Here’s a video I posted when I got those forks. They are awesome. To lift a green tote of oak I’d say you would need at least 1800lb lift capacity.
Incredible snow melt system. Crazy the snow fall. Amazing turning it on by phone. How was the consumption of wood in boiler. Did it work better than other gasser unit. ???? Great video. Do you use a iPhone to video with curious
I use a go pro. And when my wife records sometimes she will use her iPhone. The wood boiler did 100 times better than my gasser. Not even comparison. And that’s with everything else turned on like normal. Couldn’t do that before. Wood consumption definitely increased but not as bad as one would think. That boiler is just a diesel truck just chugging along. Love that thing.

Pretty sweet! Wish my whole property had that!!😂👍👍
Yeah it’s definitely nice to have. Can’t wait till my whole driveway has it.
Nice update Matt (complicated but very interesting). Keep the videos coming.

Matt, you were teasing me with the new chipper truck in the background.
Haha I knew that was coming. I will make it a point to go over some of my tree stuff this week.
Pretty cool system, something I learned working in North Dakota was that 100% antifreeze would freeze, seemed crazy.
How cold would it have to be for that to freeze?
@@Treestofirewood propylene glycol at -74f
Yeah that’s pretty cold. If it got even half that cold I would run the system to make sure that wouldn’t happen.
@@Treestofirewood It would turn to slush at -30f

Do you use a 30% Propylene glycol blend?
I’d have to double check but I do believe it is a 50% blend. Can’t remember that was two years ago. But I do have the drum still.

7:30 the term is thermosyphoning
Yep you are correct. I do think that is happening. But very very slowly.
Good video. I knew a guy used his gas boiler to clear his driveway. Was great until he got the gas bill.
Yeah. That would be very expensive in fuel and electricity. But beats going outside in the cold too.
