Ive learned from Neace and bwipo, even if the team is bitchin, inting, trolling, afk, etc.. there is ALWAYS stuff that YOU need to work on and WE can work on those things even if it’s a 1v5 game, to improve OURSELVES

Yeah I got the same mentality. I’ve had so many games where I have thousands of gold more than anyone else in the game and still lose. If I can’t win a game with an extra 3000 gold in gold or silver, that says a lot more about me than the rest of the team.
You're sycophantically high spirited. When game after game has the rest of the team throwing and you win your lane, you play macro, make plays with leverage and it doesnt matter, it means matchmaking is rigged.

This mindset is honestly so true, I've played dota since wc3 and recently as a change of scenery I have been trying to learn league, started off strong with this mindset like I always had playing dota cause I have done it for so long but once I got into ranked in league I lost it and started throwing games after doing so well in unranked. Kept getting focused on the super high mastery all my opponents have or the fact that im facing smurfs with 90% winrates on their champ and getting butthurt. The mental game is such a huge part of these types of games you have to pretend your entire team are retards and the other team are also retarded (while still giving certain champions respect when gameplay demands it) and just get into a flow and be confident. If you dont go in acting like you are gonna run a train on these nerds they will run a train on you, this goes for any competitive game. Don't look at their stats beforehand, don't look at chat don't look at shit, just say "time to stomp some noobs" and get in there and get it done.

Yes macro is important, mechanics also are a big part of the game, yet you're the first person I see touching on the psychological part of it.. Thank you for great content

One of my favorite coaching sessions. Neace proving full feedback on what he should do and why. Even when he got lucky and made a decent play when he shouldn’t Neace when a step further to help him understand how he could have made bigger leads.
XD so we should be diving tier 2 without vision, even if we get a kill we die!!! Very nice!!! You can tell Neace hasn't been to the rank he claims in at least 4 seasons. 14:50, It's low elo and no OBJ is up. So if you show top the rest of the team is coming for you. It doesn't matter how well mechanically you played this dive, they were killing you on rotation!!! But yes $250 coaching session!!! Sheep!!!!!!!!!!!
I have no idea who you are. I'm a 30 year old nuclear engineer that started playing league again, but what you taught this kid is more than just the game. That's the big picture here, and I hope this kid realizes. You gave him a lesson in life. I hope he takes it and runs with it.

As an Aussie - this is honestly default Aus attitude. I really felt for him because its culture in a way working against him.
Hope he keeps up with the coaching & this doesn’t stop him from keep trying to improve. Attitude shifts are one of the most jarring & hardest to master - worse then mechanical fixes.

I was in afghanistan with some aussies and they didn't have a negative attitude. Most down to earth good natured people.
Military culture is definitely different from civilian life. Aussies are pretty self deprecating already. Being put into shitty conditions in the military, you are forced to change your attitude to work with the people around you, otherwise youre kicked out. It's just unfortunate that this mentality isn't really taught anywhere except through the forces.
idk im australian and i thought he was a lot more pessimistic than most, not that pessimism is always a bad thing, just it can be difficult to overcome some of the downsides
@@jameslew7269 OCE is probably the most toxic server though. It's genuinely difficult to climb not because the players are good. But because it's hard to keep your head in the game when your games are 80% whose team had more trolls.
I've been Diamond on multiple accounts over multiple seasons. But I quit because I can't deal with losing or winning every game outside of the actual game.

I can play a little much of everything as well, but my strengths come in champs Ive played day 1 like Talon, Daruis, and even Leona. Neace is right about mastering one champ but the headspace of a player has a lot to do with how the majority of your games can go. You're energy leaks out and playing something like Trynd who has little pressure in team fights but has 300% lane pressure and playing like a ADC from the back line wont get anyone very far.
why is that a red flag? i think you have to be able to play every role to understand them and be better against them. focusing only on one role and only that is very bad for your overall performance and knowledge of the game...
@@LashlayDS9 basically in ranked, being the jack of all trades but a master of none is the worst thing you can be. So saying "I can play all lanes" is bullshit cuz that means you haven't taken the time to master 1-2 roles. Rather you semi understand all the roles which means ur just gonna get clapped by ur laner if they actually main it
@@automaticcaptions but then you get autofilled in a role you are not even a jack of all trades in and that's even worse.. I don't say you have to master all roles.. But at least be decent in it with one champ... Like neace says, you don't get what you want all the time.. You need a solid foundation to play on

Neace was absolutely right in his summary of this game and the mindset of the player.
As a coach myself, I want to see my guys giving it their all and trying new things off the bat for me to check them on than me having to drive that confidence with the individual.
If they have a position wide open and are tentative in their response to experience of the scenario, it's challenging to inspire them to do so. Especially in a limited session format like LOL coaching.
I have the pleasure of working with some of my guys for years now and you can train the development of a positive mindset easier when you're there consistently to push someone to overcome their adversities. When it's a one-off, virtual medium you're using to communicate, it's nigh impossible to instill the winning mentality unless you take this direct approach. This is a brilliant example of utilising this style of coaching to it's maximum.
For those who think he was too harsh I implore you to look closer into the content used and the structure used to deliver it.
His closing statement peristently focuses on the point that the player can achieve his goals if he takes a more positive approach to his gameplay situations. "Be Omni-man" will be the message this player took to the next game and that alone will make all the criticism before it viable to the right student and give them the answer of how to address the coaches feedback.

I mean I tend to have a similar mindset with everything I do. I know it bad but my issue is I don't want to come across as a "cocky peace of shit" for lack of a better word when I play. Even if I'm doing well at something. Not to say you do it or neace does it. I mute my team from the start and ignore what they are doing unless I can do something with the info. Still not sure how to fix it I have tried for years.

Muting all teammates in chat is fine because the ping system is comprehensive enough.
I think Neace is focusing more on the gameplay than the team interaction and what you bring to the team with your play and not allowing their performance to enable you to think it's acceptable to lower your own efforts.

But it often seems more so like I'm just too hard on myself thinking that I shouldn't be proud of what I do for what ever reason. I know it's bad to think that way but I assume it's just I was conditioned for some reason. But thanks for the kind words at the least.
This is amazing advice. I wish all players had Neace mindset. Everyone should also 100% have a good grasp of at least 2/3 roles/champs.

this attitude is basically setting up your future failure, you can expect bad team but you should push yourself and expect yourself to be able to carry through. this mindset helped me climb in csgo to top elo, watching your vids to grow a bit on league since I use it to be able to chill from cs, I also seem to find some stuff that help me on cs as well from your videos.

Honestly if you're a jungle main there's 2 other roles you should definitely practice a little too - mid and support
Most assassin junglers can play mid because their mobility makes them great at roaming
Most tank and mage junglers can play support because they've got good cc and zoning abilities
True, started playing some support because i wanted to be on the receving end of junglers ganking and getting drake prio. Gets alot of more perspective how the game would play out that way

After having watched quite a few coaching sessions, I don’t know what these are meant to do for anyone. The idea of coaching is to find your bad habits and break them, but Neace just micromanages every single decision the players make. So the players aren’t even making the kinds of decisions they’d normally make and can’t be coached on how to fix THEIR own play style. This guy in particular actually made some of his own decisions and just gets posted on TH-cam, full blast, with the intent to pretty much shit on him. But it’s GOOD he made those decisions during the coaching session, because now Neace can actually address this guy’s specific play style and how to fix his bad habits. This is such a weirdly destructive way of approaching coaching.

As someone who suffers with ADHD, we often talk about “spoons” or “forks” - we only get a finite amount in a day to make decisions and do tasks, once they’ve run out, we’re fucked. ( One spoon = one task, but for me it’s more like one fork = one task, because one task feels like many or one job just turns into more jobs etc… I could go on and on about executive function…) I can see how a similar thing happens mentally in games, if you expend too much mental energy on your team and the things you shouldn’t be prioritising, other elements of your own gameplay will suffer.

How hard is it to swallow your pride and actually want to learn? People talk about how smart they are all the time, but when does their emotional intelligence begin to compromise everything? that mindset of "carry these shitters" is how I'm getting close to reaching grandchamp in rocket league. It's why I was pushing diamond in Valorant, and why I'm learning to adapt in LOL. I'm nowhere near my full potential, but I'm also not hyper-focused on wining. The mentality you need to have if you want to climb in any team sport/esport is this. "what did I do wrong, what did I do right, and how can I do better." Climbing up will be worlds easier if you stick to answering those questions, and you'll find yourself caring less what your team does. Even if it's a lost game and your team is inting, you can still gather how you contributed to the int/failed your team. If you can't figure something out, then you're exactly in the elo you belong.
Yikes, this session was SO negattive. Like from champ select, the client sounded so down, listening to his voice, I just felt awful. I seriously hope he will take away the fact that his mindset is the only thing dragging him down, because he kinda knows how to play, but just makes it so much harder for himself.

Maybe it's just me but I kind of hate those types of people that will pay for coaching and then act like they already knew everything the coach was talking about. Like when someone will jump on their opponent and die then Neace tells them that he thought they should of ran away and their reply is "That's what I was thinking too, but...". Like if you already know everything Neace is gonna tell you then why waste the money on his coaching you don't need it. Otherwise, eat your humble pie and take a talkin' to when you do dumb shit.

When someone says "You're right." That means they don't care what you're saying and they just want you to shut up. They aren't being receptive to what you're saying. Instead, if we actually want to listen, he would either ask for clarification or say, "that's right." "You're right" is just appeasing the other person to stop talking about it.

You could feel the attitude problem all the way through. He kept responding with "yeah" to everything. You would critique him and he'd lay out a "yeah" like he already knew what you were coaching him before you said it. He also drops his voice lower than his regular speaking voice. These all point to ego. Either having too big of one, or being insecure and compensating. If he could put his self more into a humble student mind he'd be able to handle constructive criticism. In the small chance your reading this, trust me, take this advice. Don't respond with yeah, it sounds better when your responding with "done" like you did a couple times. Perception is everything. Use it to your advantage.

Could just be me but i didnt pick up on the negative attitude at all. During the game, I heard him trying to process what he was being told, and dont recall him ever trying to disagree or express anything negative during the game. Nervous, of course, but he seemed to be more focused on following instructions than anything else. A persons voice doesnt instantly mean they have a poor attitude, some people are just low energy. At the champ select, he seemed to be more so pointing out the comments, and the jax pick, not instantly suggesting they are going to lose - just elements of the game that he had hoped not to be present for his coaching session. I think he had a chill mindset the whole game, follwed what he as told, messed up on occasion of course, but i dont know if his attitude (which i believe was neutral ) had any impact on the game or the coaching session.

@@zeening i really dont remember seeing that happen :( and im being honest - i saw a few time she died, because he pushed up as instructed, or was told to dive into baron pit, or was told to fight Ez under tower, but aside from that, i cant recall seeing him decide to engage in a fight when neace said not to , and he die from it - you have time stamps ? I do recall the jax fight, he went in when Neace told him not to , he won the fight
he also went in on trundle, neace told him not to - he lost that fight
aside from those two times, i dont remember him going in to fight and getting killed multiple times after neace specifically told him not to fight -
@@ayohollaatyaboy When Neace decides which play is best he doesn't think of which elo they're playing in. Overall the calls Neace makes are correct IF the enemy played correctly. There are many instances where the client here only gets kills or comes out well for his own decisions because the opposing player made a mistake.
When Neace told him to dive Ez it was a right call, but the client played it really messy (like hitting the tower 3-4 times and not Ez). When Neace told him to contest the baron it was a right call, because at that point if he got the baron steal then they would've had a much better chance to get back into the game. His death meant little in that situation.
There are many instances where this player just plays really messy, seems to care more about how his team plays than he himself plays and the list goes on. Just a really bad mindset is the root of these problems. I know this, because I've also had this kind of mindset in lol before
@@johannestapper3003 I was just talking about this yesterday, that if these plays were done by someone higher Elo/ pro, then I’m sure they would have ended differently. I agree with you there 100%.
@@ayohollaatyaboy I'm not sure if Neace should make him do such risky plays though, because he wants his clients to have a repeatable strategy/playstyle that can be applied to basically any game and still have over 50% winrate.
Do certain stuff every game and also assess if the opposing player is showing any vulnerability, you should exploit it to get a lead, but if not then play solid and stick to your strategy
