      @@singami465 Eh, I'm mostly into the idea od collecting for the time being. Nothing too competitive, I technically don't have anyone to play with anyways! I was mostly curious to see if the game played anything like Magic does, since I've known about the Pokemon TCG longer but learned how to play Magic first o:

    • @singami465
      @singami465 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@limm_ee I've been playing MTG for 16 years and, while they have some similarities, the dynamics are completely different. Magic is much more like Poker, in which you bluff your enemy. Pokemon, at its best, is more like Chess - most of the information is available, and you have to calculate multiple turns ahead.
      Of course, at its worst (nowadays), Pokemon is just a game that plays itself, because the games are short and you have limited choice. You're just comparing who got the better draw.

    If going with a water pokemon base i would find a fighting pokemon to attack with colorless energy to use only water, or little other types to use 4 aurora energy. Also, using samurott i would play 4 twin energy, removing the need for frosmoth and benched to attack quick as its attack can be paid in one water and one twin. A two turn attach. Cause what if you have samurott but not frosmoth? What if samurott and frosmoth are your only two pokemon and samurotts in the active? You need alternate ways to charge up your attack so you arent hinging on a single card combination

    This is one way way to play the game, but it doesn't really touch on playstyle, really finding what works for you and exploring, and experimenting is so crucial. Yes you can play the decks in the meta (meta stands for most effective tactics available, but it really means what what people deem to be overpowered right then and there, and just becomes a normal in the game that usually changes week to week.) Really finding your playstyle is a way to improve in deck building most importantly, and also being very comfortable with your role on the battlefield meaning less panic etc. I can't state this enough, the way YOU play matters, and if you're big enough the meta might even grow to block your decks on some level due to the games work, especially now.

    Ah, ini nih video yang kalian butuhkan buat membangun deck Pokémon TCG. Top Deck Academy emang selalu bikin konten informatif dan gampang dipahami. Gw jadi semakin tertarik buat nyoba main Pokémon TCG nih!

    It be nice if there were actually cards to buy and build with. The scalpers in my area are buying everything, even the pokemon center machines that get restocked once a week, to resell at high prices.

    This is what I like to see. I wish Pokemon TCG would have even more emphasis on deck building. Too many players' "decks" of consist of just spam of powerful cards with almost no strategy or variety.

      You are half right in this argument. The only cards i see that are spammy as hell come in ADPZ decks that just need to bosses orders twice to win game if they set up altered creation gx and have zacian. Thats literally the most spammiest deck in the meta but theres a shit ton of strategy in tcg, mainlg sequencing your cards to get the pieces you need that HELP YOU BUILD the deck right. You cant just put a bunch of cards into a deck and know itll work. You always have to calc the math to earn valuable damage against top meta threats. For example people started running zigzagoon galar on decks with scoop up net jirachis to set goon and scoop it to ping 1 damage onto centiskorch v at 200 hp before it can evolve into centiskorch vmax. This is especially helpful in mirror matches if youre going first because you can attach 1st turn, then welder attach next turn to cap at 200 damage if youre able to vmax. With goon ping you ko the other persons centiskorch before theyre able to setup

      @@notoriouscasual5004 you're right about that but that's the meta players. I play on the extended format online so I'm talking about the rando players I see. Like a bench just full of copies of Legendary/GX cards.
