    I should have mentioned that you can use any type of Trainer cards you don't have to specifically use the ones I showed in the video. Also, experiment with different deck builds by playing with friends and family to see what works and what doesn't. That is the fun in building your own deck. Hope you all enjoyed! 😃

      The only difference IMO would be too switch step 2 and 3. When I play mtg arena i would pick creature cards first, then pick enchantments, instants, sorcery, auras, and artifacts that best support my creatures. Like if i choose bloodthirsty aerialist, which gains plus 1/1when you gain life, I would use a card that gives it life link like shadow spear or an enchantment aura.

      I used to build decks and play at home, I always wondered. If I have trainers from different sets, can I use them in the same deck if they both do the same thing? Like instead of 4 Hops you use 2 Hops and 2 Haus (sun and moon)? But obviously you can’t use 4 Hops and 4 Haus since they fill the same role and Draw 3 supporters.

    Pro tip: if you use 1 type, maybe also add some normal types. You are able to attach any energy to normal types, energy likely being your chosen type. This gives you a wider range of cards, that can use the same energies. (Plus, if you find a Pokemon of another type that only needs colorless/any energy or the type your using for its attack, consider adding that Pokemon into your deck as well.)

    • @TrainerTim1

      Generally you only should put up to two pokemon types in your deck. Similarly only 2 energy types. However its easier to make a deck with 1 energy and 1 pokemon type since a lot of pokemon attacks require specific energy. However normal type pokemon can use energy of any type so they can be used in any deck. Hope this helps!😁

    Ooo very interesting video! I'm definitely going to keep this in mind when creating decks in the near future however for now I'm just waiting for my little brother to wake up so we can play for the very first time!
    He's much more excited but I hope I can teach him from what the Battle Academy has been able to teach me, though may I ask...
    What Pokemon Cards should I be going for as there's a lot of different packs just as Shining Fates, the latest one which I just forgotten the name of & so much packs that I just don't know what's efficient for playing with. As I would love to collect them but I think ensuring I can have fun with them is also a nice touch :D
    As I think the only place around me is a Game Store, so I could just view there and get one or maybe look online? I don't really know... But regardless awesome stuff! Once I saw the 18 energy I knew the Rulebook has been keeping me right

    • @TrainerTim1
      @TrainerTim1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's awesome I hope you had fun! Yea there's a lot of sets so it can get confusing quickly. The latest set is going to be the easiest to find in stores and online. Currently it is Chilling Reign but soon it will be Evolving Skies. My best suggestion is to look at the set list for the set and see if you like a lot of the cards or not. If not then pick a different set list until you find one you like. I then fully commit to buying that set only so I can hopefully pull the cards I want to pull. The only problem is that it can get expensive and there's no guarantee you'll get the card you want. Hope this helps!😁

    This is probably a dumb question, but do the cards in a deck all need to be from the same theme, or can a deck be made up of different themes? For example, I bought a prepared deck of cosmic eclipse with 60 cards. Would I be able to switch out cosmic eclipse cards with Lost Origins? I'm sorry if I'm making this confusing.

    If you use an attack that requires 2 or 3 energy, do you have to then discard those energy cards and rebuild that Pokémon back up, or do you get to keep the energy cards? I know when you retreat you discard the stated energy cards, I didn’t know how it worked when attacking. Thank you!

      Haha yea I'd suggest adding pokemon cards with a different type. There are pokemon that can use attacks for colorless energy. • @TrainerTim1
      @TrainerTim1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're playing casually with friends and family you can have over or under 60 cards. The 60 cards is a just a suggestion to make your deck balanced so you don't draw too many of one particular card. For example, you could have too many pokemon in your hand and not enough energy to attack. However, if you play others at a card shop (tournament or casual) everyone will use a 60 card deck.
