Hey guys! Thanks for the kind words regarding my upcoming heart procedure! Def a little unnerving, but lucky it’s not a major surgery! Just wanted to let ya know I appreciate the support. Also, never had the COVID shot, did get COVID though but this was starting prior to getting it. Looks like in my case it’s hereditary..other family members had it..also, endurance athletes can develop it over time. Anyhow…talk soon!
Sending you positive and healing energy!!! I'm sorry you are going through this, but I'm sure it will end up okay. My brother had something like that when he was a teenager. He also had something put into his heart through his vein or artery. (I'm 5 years younger, so I don't know exactly what it was or needed to be done). I do remember his heart would all of a sudden SPIKE super high even when he was doing very slight activity. I am looking forward to your next update, which I HOPE is sooner than later. ❤
I have been a cardiac nurse in NYC for 33 years. I know I commented before but I want you to know that all cardiac people are extremely dedicated to a positive outcome for our patients. I am sure you are in good hands. I am a red-foot tortoise owner in NYC (4 of them) and love your videos. I watch all of them and have learned so much from your channel. I look forward to many more years of your content being produced.
@@Pannkakaize pvcs happen to everybody. When one has sustained events where it becomes dangerous. As Keenan said his heart is not pumping efficiently when that happens.
Hey, Kenan. My father had WPW, a syndrome in which an extra electrical pathway in the heart causes a rapid heartbeat. He was born with it but wasn’t diagnosed until he started having symptoms very similar to yours in his early 50s. Long story short he had a catheter ablation back in the 90s and is now 85 and remains symptom free. The marvels of modern medicine. You got this!
Dude, Please get well, don't die on us, after Brian, and Dingo, we can't lose another Giant in this community. Good vibes and well wishes bubba. Much love!
I’m proud of you for taking care of your health; if you don’t look after of you, you can’t take care of anyone who depends on you! Rest up and heal well my friend!
I started having SVT episodes in 2018. I thought i was having panic attacks and so did the ER doctor that i saw. It would keep me up a lot of the nights, Mine just happened randomly like my heart rate would go from my normal resting heart rate of 60 to 220 out of no where, It would knock me on my butt. Dealt with that for close to a year, i had a bad one and thought i was having a heart attack (at 32). Went to the ER again but like when you take your car to the mechanic it stopped before they could get my vitals. A nurse ask the doctor to give me a heart rate monitor to wear for 3 days (cause she had SVT) and they saw it happened multiple times a day. I am grateful for that nurse because of her i got the ablation and I haven’t had a problem since. Have no worries about the procedure, just take it easy. Good luck and love everything you do and stand for! 😊
Best wishes Kenan for a full and complete recovery! My husband has had 2 ablations (A flutter, then AFib) and a third was proposed for SVT. However, medication has successfully managed the SVT so a third ablation is not needed presently. Rest, heal well, and look forward to the SVT episodes being behind you!
I have you in my prayers! I am 35 with a pacemaker and an artificial heart valve. I go in Monday (5 days) to schedule my pacemaker replacement and I have to get the valve replaced again sometime soon. So I understand being scared/worried. But you will be fine. Your procedure is going to be fairly quick and you will be back to your animals in no time! Glad you caught it early!
My dad had this surgery done 3 times so far on both the left and right chambers of his heart, he didn't hurt much after and it has saved his life! Sending you love and healing energy! 🖤
Love and prayers for a speedy recovery Kenan. My mom would get spikes in her heart rate like that and they did an ablation and she hasn't had an episode since. Can't wait to see you back and healthy!
My prayers are with you for a strong and speedy recovery! All of your animals and family need you healthy and strong so I am proud of you for prioritizing your health.
I am so glad you were having your heart checked because I was worried every time you stood up and got dizzy! I'm praying for a successful procedure and your complete and speedy recovery! 🙏 ❤
@sdqsdq6274 not the squatting but the standing up too fast, which can mess with your blood pressure, making you dizzy. It's an indication that something is not quite right.
So sad to hear this. Oddly enough myocarditis has gone up more than 47% in the past 3 yrs for men between 20 yrs old and mid 50s. What do all these people have in common?
I'm so glad stacey is pulling thru. We care about you and wish you and your family the best. So glad you decided to do something about the issue and not wait any longer. Please take the time to recover.
I’m so pleased went to the doctor. I have a condition with the oh so chic name of POTS. When I change position it causes my heart to speed up and my BP to drop, then I pass out. No treatment for it but it’s pretty much benign. It’s secondary to one of my nasty autoimmune disorders. I was really concerned by your symptoms. Sending you wishes for a successful surgery and a quick recovery.
Hey Ken, I've worked with ablations and cardiac medicine. You're gonna be well taken care of! It's extremely rare to have complications, but good luck all the same!
Kenan- DON'T GO CYCLING BY YOURSELF UNTILL HEART FIXED. I lost a good freind, aged 39, heart issue, cycling by himself, heart attack, found too late, brain dead. Be careful x

Speedy Recovery Kenan, hope the procedure went well, I've been watching you since 2017, hope the procedure gets the desired results and you're back to 100% soon.
You'll be fine. Just spent my 40th bday on the OR table for an open heart surgery. It sounds crazy and was obviously invasive. Even that is super routine. 2 weeks recovery is no big deal. I just came off of 4 months of recovery and into triathlon training again. 1 simple catheter procedure and you're healed is the best news. Glad you found out and best of luck 😊
When I saw the title of the video I thought something was wrong with Slinky. Glad that's not the case but sorry to hear you're having problems with your actual heart. Good luck with your procedure!
I have had SVT for about 25 years now. Mine started off slow, but got to the point where it started waking me up at night. They had to start using a drug to stop and restart the heart at the hospital. The heart doc said the ablation would not work due to the location of the problem. They put me on Metoprolol 2x daily and haven’t had an “episode” in a while. I have heard really good stuff about the ablation. You got this bro. Love and prayers from us.
I developed a form of Supraventricular Tachycardia called Ectopic Atrial Tachycardia when I was a teenager, and I had to undergo catheter ablation as well, in the left atrium. They went through the femoral veins of both legs through a spot located in the groin area, and I have 2 little scars on each leg in the same spot on the upper inner thighs from it. During the procedure, they have to first make a “map” of your heart to locate the point where the problematic extra electrical impulses are originating from, which will then be ablated. To understand the procedure, it was helpful for me to understand the anatomy of the heart; the heart has 2 nodes, the Sinoatrial (SA) node and Atrioventricular (AV) node, which send the electrical impulses that signal your heart to beat. The sinoatrial node generates the electric impulse, causing the top 2 chambers of the heart, the atria, to beat; the signal then carries down to the AV node, which then triggers the lower 2 chambers of the heart, the ventricles, to beat. But, since the heart is such an important organ, there are also “backup” spots of nodal cells that are supposed to transmit the electrical impulses and keep the heart beating in case of a problem with the main nodes. As the cardiologists explained to me, sometimes things can go wrong which erroneously activates some of these backup nodal cells to start transmitting the electrical impulses in addition to the regular impulses of a healthy heart. What ends up happening is there are too many electrical signals being sent through the heart, and it’s responding to the extra signals by beating very fast, and sometimes without a set rhythm, as was in my case. These are called heart palpitations. It’s not fully understood why or how these backup nodal cells are activating when the heart has an otherwise healthy rhythm. In order to pinpoint the area of faulty nodal cells, they map your heart and identify where the erroneous electrical signals are coming from, then ablate the nodal cells that are transmitting them; ablation means to destroy the cells, causing a scar to form, using either heat or cold. I had an ablation procedure at 16, but unfortunately as they were exploring and mapping my heart, the problem spot was accidentally touched, and the heart palpitations stopped; the cardiologist waited as long as they could for the palpitations to restart to locate the exact area requiring ablation, but they had to bring me out of anaesthesia. They were confident that they could get it done on a second go, as they now knew where the problem was and they had their map made, so the spot would not be bumped during exploration again. At 17 I underwent a second catheter ablation procedure, and this time it was successful, and I had no complications. During my procedure they had to access the left atrium, which is where the spot that required ablation was located, by way of perforating through the septum that separates the right and left atria; because of this, I had to take aspirin as a blood thinner for about 3 or so months after the ablation, just as a precaution in the rare case a blood clot formed as it healed. It was kind of annoying because I’m clumsy, and the bleeding would last a bit longer than normal when I would accidentally hurt myself. But, since you don’t actually have any pain receptors inside the heart, so there was no pain at the ablation site as it healed. There was some pain, stiffness, and bruising in the legs from the entrance into the femoral veins though, but it wasn’t too bad, nothing that Tylenol and Advil couldn’t help, and it didn’t last all that long either; the scars that were left are very small and unnoticeable, and required no stitches. The most annoying part of it all for me was that you have to lie still and not get up from bed for a little while, maybe like 1.5-2 hours after consciously waking from anaesthesia, with compression bandages on your thighs so that the entrance wounds into the femoral veins can properly clot and won’t reopen. Even though the procedure seemed scary and complicated to me, especially as a kid, the cardiologists I worked with were some of the kindest and most professional and skilled doctors I have ever met; they reassured me throughout the whole process, they had excellent bedside manner, and I trusted them to fix me up, and they did just that. I know they will do just the same for you, Kenan, and before you know it your heart will be back in top shape for racing bikes and wrangling reptiles! I wish you all the best, and a speedy recovery!
