I can’t thank you enough for sparking my interest in these early Dark Horse Aliens stories from the 80’s and 90’s. I was recently able to buy Marvel’s new omnibus, and I gotta say I love owning a physical copy of them!
Well the United American Armed Forces and likely the rest of the Earth national militaries had contracts with companies like Weyland Yutani,LaSalle Bionational and other companies with military contracts across the Human Sphere.
I love how the narrator expands on the story, but also doing realistically , more so than the comic books could do almost like a novel. he takes what is already there...but makes it better
Am I the only one seeing the similarly of the building at 1:43 to the Hammerpede from Prometheus? Obviously just a coincidence but still eerily familiar.
It's so cool you're doing these. I've been reading the novels from the beginning lately. Just about to finish up book 3, The Female War. Loved the taking of the Queen in that shallow ocean water on their homeworld. Such a wild scene.
Love this channel, engrossing and brilliantly narrated. My best Alien viewing experience was watching Alien 2 in a theatre (not a cinema) in London, with a full orchestra accompanying the movie. Many people cheered whenever Bill Paxton said anything (including myself). At the end of the movie we all cheered the movie and orchestra. The conductor exited and when I thought he was coming back on for a second round of applause instead of the conductor, Sigourney Weaver & James Cameron came on completely unexpectedly and the roof came off the building. A wonderful evening watching one of my favourite movies.
This really does fit into the fan theory of Outland being in the same universe as Alien. Megacorps selling drugs that aren't completely, or really at all, ethical or fit for human consumption.
Your narration skills are absolutely incredible. I haven't been drawn in to this type of oration since the days of listening to George Guidall or Frank Muller speak the Dark Tower series. Thank you for all of your content.
I think I've watched all of your videos on accounts of the Earth War. I need to get a copies of some of the works. Fascinating stories. A shame I missed them when they came out.
Its weird how Ripley, Newt, Hicks, and the gang saved Earth but now they are basically forgotten. I guess I sort of figured that they would have some role to play in the reconstruction, at least in the "Never Again" sense anyway.
That's true but not entirely, I'm almost positive women and children got priority over everyone else despite station in life, but I'm sure plenty of the survivors were wealthy.

It is ironic that Alien comics somewhat predicted bezos although it is even more ironic that xenomorphs have highly valuable biological properties such as their jelly

Currently reading the Genocide Novel. A lot of the Daniel Grant character is really fleshed out in the book. Just curious, do you not regard the novels as canon when you make these videos?

Everytime a work says "war is good for business " you can instantly put it into the 2nd rate shlock category. Short term war can be good for some business but long term only a 1% of super companies can expect benefits from it. War interrupts economic activity and overall just leads to loss both profit and in progress in every activity
Not to mention we are talking about Earth war here, repressions for everyone. Complete collapse of trade etc. Worthless money... Most likely nationalisation of most businesses...
Thats the point, that 1% that actually benefits from long term war is a form of cosmic horror, a literal organism that feeds from death, all created by greediness, the king of kings of greedines, i found that terrifying as hell, because in real lkfe there are people who are that 1% andcdont care at all, and will always want to have an edge on everybody else's existence

Been waiting for a long time for this one, Daniel had a very interesting character arc in his story.
Grant is one of those characters who manages to tread the razor-fine line between Rascal and Asshole.

The Alien Genocide story was the first storyline of Dark Horse comics I purchased. Its still one of my favorite. love that you're doing this series.
