  • In this video i show you exactly how to position and set your transducer so that you get the most out of your depthfinder / sounder. grab a note book and get ready to learn how to catch more fish by finding new ground.

    Nice video mate I'm in the process to get it right at the moment but it is a nightmare with pressed hull, it reads nice and clear up to 10 knots than it starts to cut out . I have it now booked in to high tunes marine and hope they can do something so I'm be able to read the bottom even at 20 or 25 knots .

      Have you dropped it more? And tilt forward a tiny bit? Other option is to glue it to the keel of the boat. More prone to getting damaged there tho

      @Latitude SixTeen I have dropped it but still the same what I found is the weld on the transom is quit thick so they will smooth that out and have a look again . Yes last option will be to glue it on ..

    G'day Mate. I currently run a 185M, but am looking at upgrading my setup and include a 3 in 1 tranny. How do you find having one tranny on the port and the other on the starboard side?
    Currently have the 185M on the starboard. Most of what I've read is suggests to put both on the starboard side (and different heights), but that'll get a little cramped if I have sufficient gaps between them and also the prop.
    Do you have much interference from the prop backwash on your port side?
    Cheers

      @@tomgregorczyk781 hi mate, I do know that is is common practice to have your transducer on the opposite side to where your prop was would be however I have had no issues with having the 3in1 on this side on my hull. Can’t speak for other hulls or outboard configurations but this works well for me. It still reads at 30+knots

    Hey great video, just wanted to ask if you get any issues from the trim tabs being so close?

    • @latitudesixteen6813
      @latitudesixteen6813  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Heya mate, thanks and no nothing at all from the tabs. The tabs haven’t been there the whole time while owning the boat. Nothing changed reading wise when they were fitted.

    Great video.
    I see that you do have doble transduce..
    I see that you have a 1 kilowatt transducer for deep water and another for side vieuw down scan image.
    What model of lowrance FF do you have ?

    Hi , I have a stabicraft aswell , how do you secure the transducer bracket to the welded on plate ?
    Thanks

      @@WatarawiNgata-m9y sorry mate, just seen this message now. I just use normal screws into the 3in1 bracket. I haven’t had an issue before.

    Hey mate running the same set up with tranducer I’m getting a clear reading at speed in the creeks and water up to 20m but as I start to push in to the 30m plus when I’m travelling out to the reef the picture is not readable you can see the bottom but can’t make out any detail of it. Any advise would be great

    • @latitudesixteen6813

      How fast are you travelling when losing bottom like this? And does it work better on a flatter day when the seas are calm? Might pay to drop transducer a tiny bit and tilt it forward ever so slightly.

      @@latitudesixteen6813 I have tried this to and it dosnt seem to change that much. I have also rotated the tranducer like you have. that did help a bit but still not readable enough to notice pinnacle or a change in bottom
      It dosnt seem to mater what speed I’m doing in deeper water it happens at any speed.
      Dose seem to clear up a bit if I’m over 45kmh

      Hmm that’s a weird one mate! Without being able to play with some settings and what not it’s hard to say what it could be.

    Doesnt matter which way your transducer cord ect goes? Any reason the cord goes to the rear?

    • @latitudesixteen6813
      @latitudesixteen6813  ปีที่แล้ว

      For this transducer in particular it can be run forward or backwards. In this case it’s run backwards. I find that it gets a better reading this way for both side imaging and sonar. I could be wrong but I believe the sonar transducer crystals are at the front when running in the backwards position so there for getting cleaner water. When you run it this way you have to remember to go into setting for the side imaging and flip the screen so that you are getting your left and right screens on the right side.
