Im growing up with the music of the eighties. The late nineties wasn't my favorite time, but THIS song is just outstanding. One of the Best at this time
She is so weird and awesome. Plus, you would never know how much of an impact she’s had on the internet from her beginnings. Not just Hide and Seek, but also I’m God, the “mysterious” internet song that “no one knows anything about” and basically all of Frou Frou
@@zarkflappysheep doesn't make it not a clams casino remix of one of her original songs dude, it's 'just for now', off 'speak for yourself', in case you didn't know.
@@jamesenglish720 me putting that in air quotes was signifying that it’s not a mysterious internet song. That’s the point. A lot of people think it is.
I always assumed this video was shot in a studio with the outdoor background projected or digitally edited in, but according to Imogen in a recent webchat it really was filmed in the back of a moving van! And she was terrified because the driver was going too fast, and most of the time she didn't have a safety harness.
I looked this up, and the song came out in 1997. And Imogen is more amazing all the time. I read there might be a tour in 2013. I hope there's a time and place I can get to. Her songs seem so personal and yet so universal. This video shows the brashness of her youth. She's only gotten better with the years. Too often the best artists don't get the attention they deserve. Immi is one of the best.
why is there comments about her being ugly in pretty much every video of her songs? Even if she was (and I don't think she is), it doesn't really have anything to do with her singing.
because the only value a woman is based on is her attractiveness. "She's ugly=she's not worthy." Yeah it's telling bc no one attacks Moby or any male musician for being "too ugly"....almost like beauty has no say in whether you can make art.
Love this song and video. I really love her more punkish 90s vibe honestly... Also....just imagine how confused the people behind her must have been. Imagine some elderly couple out for a Sunday drive ending up behind this shoot. They probably didn't know _what_ was happening....lol
She is definitely not ugly and her talent is amazing. Her video may be out there, but it fits the mood of the song to a "T". She just doesn't fit the "pop star" mold, and in my book that's the definition of a true artist.
I love this Imogen Im familiar with her her other albums I listened to this album yesterday. And I can't stop listening to it . Giveing me 90 feels I love it . This song has been on repeat since yesterday
the look she has in this video (which i think is awesome!) compliments subject of the song. Curious how many of the people that are turned off by video (not just your friends.. ) bothered to listen to what she's saying. their loss.
i don't think that she's ugly. she has an adrogynous face and people dont always understand that type of beauty. not to mention that she makes AMAZING music. :)
I showed this to friends of mine and they were quote "Disturbed" and they said she was ugly. I don't know about anyone else but Imogen Heap is the most beautiful person I have ever looked at in my entire life. Her songs a effing divine and have never been a sellout and she is and will always be ORGINAL. And I'm happy that i'm not listening to Lady gaga and pop shit because i'm still stuck into the people that are made into amazing preformers THAT ARE AMAZING PREFORMERS.
psulionz87 I own the soundtrack. It was in the sequel, when Julie was talking to Will outside the campus. Right before her heart to heart with Ray, ending with Eden by Hooverphonics. Another one of my all time favorite songs.
Kate Bush may have templated the 'eccentric female artist' back in the 70s and 80s, but if there is anyone to pick up her sceptre, surely it is Imogen Heap. And if - as pointed elsewhere in these comments - she scares you or your friends, try 'Blanket' and 'Rollin' and Tumbling' with her on Jeff Beck's 'Live at Ronnie Scott's' DVD (clips on YT) or the studio version of the latter and 'Dirty Mind', where her breathless panting coupled with Jeff's dive-bomb guitar riff make a stunning combination.
When I first discovered her, I was like "she resembles some one/thing because of her hair" but couldn't figure it out. Then months ago, I rewatched 1 of my fav childhood anime, Witch Hunter Robin. Well, I like them both xD
Man....a woman this interesting will never get old...both from a relationship aspect...and an age aspect. I would like to meet her. (not that that would go anywhere....but still)
Imogen's lovely, but what I really love in this video is the fact that she's acting like a cross between Busta Rhymes and Keith from Prodigy. Excellent!

One way to know where you are (your relative positioning) at the beach is to have two distinctive poles side by side and we gauge our relative positioning along the nearby pole-pair-viewing cost by the relative distance/angle of the perceived posts. Or, you could know your coordinates by looking at one post, provided you are looking at it from a determined locked position (may as well be tied up there in restraints). Fisrt of all that's awesome what you did and i love thher and this song and i know its one of her first videos but she should have cut back on the crazy dance moves lol
Ive never seen a bigger genre change than Imogen Heap, like she really went from a rockstar to an electronic musical odyssey
and i love it ALL! she is really a genius
The electronica was there from the beginning. What is amazing is how far she and her collaborators took it.
This is so 90s

God damn, Imogen Heap changed so much as a singer after the late 90’s. From being a rocker to being a electronica genius!
